2 lewd for FGW

Super Lewd

That being said, I-No is good character design.

So...wait...Dhalsim is Avdol?

Dhalsim's zoom punches (I think that's their official name) are taken directly from Phantom Blood. Hamon gives Zeppelli and later Johnathon Joestar the ability to stretch their arms out for longer-reach punches. It's very silly. Dhalsim just takes the concept and runs with it.

Ahh so Sim's essentially the monk who taught Will the Ripple/Hamon

That street fighter cabs is the new free to play street fighter game from capcom. It's free to play, and is going to be like tekken rev. New engine. 20 characters at launch. Plays like Cvs2, but faster.

The game starts you out in your virtual home. You can look at your statistics, look at the store from your computer, and eat food. Eating food gives you a 5% exp boost that can be only gotten once a day. Level ups provide rewards. The level number has no status of yet, but we are thinking of ways to encourage players to keep playing. When you leave your house the world zooms out to a persona map perspective. You can go the store, the super market or the arcade.

The whole game is partially like Playstation home. You walk around the virtual areas with your avatar, and you can dress your guy with whens mahvel tshirts and those shitty tshirts neo made once the community workshop supports community designs (coming later this year). Cosmetic prices range from 1.00 to $30. The mythical Chun li's thighs is 35 dollars where green flames emit from her black stockings. There will be an infrastructure that supports the selling, trading, and community based items.

When you walk into the virtual arcade you are greeted by an arcade owner that looks like Ono and he says "Welcome to the virtual cabs! I hope you enjoy your stay! As a first time customer, we would like to give you a complementary gift on the house. You open the gift and it's a 20% exp booster, 10 quarters, and your first cosmetic item for Ryu. It's a headband that's white but it says Street fighter Cabs.

You can play the game by sitting down at any cab. It has text chat. The ESRB for this game is rated teen but online is not rated, and your game play experiences may change. Each game cost 1 quarters. You'll be given 10 quarters a day from ono, but if you want to play more you'll have to go to the store to buy quarter packets. They come in 10 (1 dollar), 1000 (10 dollars), 2000 (20 dollars), 4000 (40 dollars), 8000 (80 dollars), and 10000 (100 dollars).

When you lose, you lose a quarter, but if you win you gain two quarters. Win streaks provide random rewards including a 10 coin packet. If you lose you have a chance to get items as well.

The game is amazing please play it. It has the best netcode to date. It has online tournies every week. It has full twitch tv integration, and a spectating client that you can watch from your virtual home. When a tournament happens. Players can gather around the cabinets like a real arcade. Feel the atmosphere as the crowd cheers or boos at you. Smell the air of virtual cigarettes and feel the excitement as people love playing and watching this amazing game.

When evo happens there will be an evo theater where there will be 100 of theaters that house the entire community to watch the street fighter stream.

Please support capcom. They did this for the fans.

I am 100% for that idea.

CvS2 like gameplay? Free so if I don't like it or the netcode's bad, I didn't waste $60?

Greatest fighting game Capcom has made in the last 10 years.

god i wish this was real :(

Just add a progression where I can spend XP points to give my character new moves or upgrade existing ones and I'm in.

Spend 100 xp points to decrease startup time of cr.lk

Spend 200 xp points to add (slow) over head attack. can be sped up incrementally by spending 200 xp points.

Spend 500 xp to give character SPD. spend 200 xp to increase it's range or decrease startup time.

Etc etc.

Think create a player mode in sports games.

Recently I revisited VF4EVO's Quest mode, it surprises me that no fighter - not even VF5FS - has implemented the reward system from VF4EVO. There's inklings of it in IronGalaxy's CAPCOM releases (think "Parry 5 attacks"), but there's so much opportunity here.

To the uninitiated, VF4EVO's Quest Mode simulates the experience of traveling to local arcades, making a name for yourself and competing in tournaments. Of note is the system that rewards you for every match - even when you lose, you get some money. Randomly, certain matches offer rewards to the winner (it is announced at the beginning of the match) - money or items, usually. you also get money by accepting and competing quests - knock down your opponent 4 times, win 3 games against Jacky, successfully ETE ten times, etc.

The mode is so addictive and the degree to which you can customize your character is very cool. It teaches you the game in a more intrusive way than 3SO's objectives, but it's implemented in a way that you WANT to accept and complete as many quests as possible because the reward isn't just concept art.

I hope it gets implemented in VF6, but I'd welcome it in any fighter.

sounds cool.

VF4 Evo quest is the kind of thing devs looked at and said "wow all that wasted money...can't believe we just gave away all that shit for free"

but I agree, I got replay value out of both VF4 and 4Evo forever.

im just hoping for a playable version of this character

This looks pretty cool.

The UKFGC link is dead. Or at least the site seems to be suspended. I thought you might want to know.
Seems like the site has been abandoned (twitter hasn't been updated for months either). Can anyone into the UK scene confirm if this is dead?

Thanks for the heads up!

Polygon did a great feature on the development history of SF2.

Thanks for linking. Polygon's features are always super dope.

There are some good things coming. Have faith ya'll.
Is this the end of the reckoning?

Do I smell a Empire Games Weekly in the making?

Hey oneida, are you willing to do next week's FGW Spotlight? If you are, let me know either here or via PM and PM me the answers to those 9 questions before Sunday night.

"The arcade edition made the hidden bosses ONI and Evil Ryu playable out of the box."

Nice little fact you got there, guys...
