Gameware accessories are buy one get one free including their version of the wii u pro controller (2 for £10)
How are these controllers and can they be made to work on the PC like the official Pro controllers? I notice the very big D-pad and see it has gimmicky lights. I can't find solid impressions online and they seem to contradict each other too.

Apologies if this is the wrong place, but it's the best place I can think of

Does anyone know if Nippon-Yasan still mark down packages for customs? I'm wondering if they stopped due to their new shipping option?

What would be the best shipping option to take to try and dodge the customs fee? (Order would be 2 Vita Games (ordered to separate houses)

Lastly do they take the money on order or do they take it on despatch?

They're not bad, the analogue sticks are crap and the buttons are a tad stiff. But 2 for £10 its an amazing price (I bought one for £15).

Not sure on whether they mark down but use Airmail or SAL (surface mail). Airmail is faster. EMS and FedEx always get caught if it's above the limit and FedEx seems to charge a fee even if it's under.

Thanks

Does Insurance/tracking increase the likely hood of it getting caught btw? I haven't imported in a while.

Thanks for the reponses, Does anyone know about when they take the money?

I'm hoping I can slip through customs since Vita games are small.

Its a possibility, I got a 64gb card from NY via Fedex before Christmas that dodged customs. It was marked down as less than £10 on the package value IIRC. I think they charge on shipping from what I remember.

You may still get a letter about it. Can take a few months sometimes.

EMS seems a waste. I ordered something using it out of curiosity of how long it takes and whether it would get through without charge as the company had marked down(knew I'd get charged otherwise so I never tried it before). Been a week, still not got it and tracking says about revised charges needing to be paid. :! Won't be using EMS again lol. Better off just waiting on airmail, airmail usually isn't much longer than a week or two.

It is one of the cheaper tracked mailing options. So if you want your package tracked, I guess it's an ok service. But if you want if fast, you'd better look into the more expensive services from Fedex, DHL and the likes.

Airmail and SAL offer tracked though. I dunno just don't see much point of it, especially considering how many people seem to use it. Maybe it's due to faster customs in some places. Royal mail/HMRC certainly aren't fast.

Thank you! Good sleuthing. Think I might go with Amazon France version as I'd like the download codes to work. This will have English localisation won't it? I don't fancy playing a gauloise chuffing Snake.
I bought MGS from the French PSN, to play on my PS3/Vita set to English, and it was the (awful) French dub only, so beware!

I've been hit by customs using SAL tracked. Rarely through standard unregistered post (i.e. Royal Mail) though.

The problem with importing is if you want insurance (in case the item goes missing) you have to have tracking which greatly increases the risk of customs fees but if you don't have insurance (and thusly no tracking) if the item goes missing (or never even sent) you are fucked. Fucked.

Oh no!

Looks like there's pretty much no UK stock for this left. Knew I should have bought it earlier.

Make a US account and get the US Legacy Collection, redeem it on your PS3, then your UK account can play it. Not only that, you get it in glorious 60Hz that way.

I thought you couldn't redeem US codes on a UK account?

You can't, but if it's redeemed onto a US account that you register on your UK console and make that PS3 its primary console, then you can redeem it on that account, log into your UK account and play as normal.

I have the UK legacy edition and when I redeemed the code, every localised version of it was added to my download queue, so I think it should be fine.

They're out of stock now. I'll set up a stock alert (though I've never had these work with GAME, they trigger at 4am by which time it is gone or don't trigger when there is stock). Given I was buying for the analogue sticks it probably isn't bad for me to tinker with the classic controller pro here.

Should make sure the place you importing marks down the value if they are shipping outside Europe tbh.

You get boned if the item gets lost / anything goes wrong though as the insurance only covers what was declared. I have heard that Play Asia and Yes Asia are pretty good if you don't have tracking and insurance for your items though; they supposedly refund you with credit or just send out another item.

Yes Asia used to resend from within the UK so you were guaranteed to avoid customs, do they not still do that as standard? I haven't really used them since about 2007-08 but I'm looking to make a couple of import purchases son and it's difficult to know who to choose.

I just ordered something from them last week and their page still clearly says they have this type of customs deal for UK and Germany specifically where they do something to avoid fees. I presume this is what you described.

Dutch-GAF: Bart Smit have Learn with Pokémon Typing Adventure (includes BluTooth keyboard) + Picross 3D (both NDS) together for €13.99. (Offer available only through their webshop.)
From The Netherlands €13 for tracked mail. And 9 euros otherwise.

(I'm not in the Netherlands though. Just saying. :))
I know this was a few days ago now, but was anyone able to order Pokemon Typing from the UK? I tried but was only able to select the Netherlands at the checkout.
Product link again:-

...Still annoyed with myself for not ordering one from Amazon when it was £17.10 :(

They only sell them to residents of the Netherlands. I don't think they even ship it to your door. I believe you have to go pick it up at your local store. They are a toy chain that is present in both The Netherlands and Belgium, but even Belgians couldn't order it.

The game seems to be fairly cheap everywhere over here (Belgium) though. I saw a copy for €17 iirc in another store (not Bart Smit) just yesterday.

Then it should work and give him a UK version, yes.

I found a copy for £46 on play.com, so just ordered that. Not very cheap arse, but I saw an unboxing of the French version and, not surprisingly, the box was in French. Je ne veux pas.

There'll probably be a massive re-supply in a few weeks and it will be going for cheap again, but the massive price hike scared me.

It is 19 Euro on the French Amazon. Not sure what language game will run in (I can try setting my DS to French tonight to see if my UK copy plays in French) and once you add shipping it will be more than both the UK and dutch deals.

Which one? So I can go there lol.

I just checked my Dutch/Bart Smit copy of the game, and it has a QWERTY keyboard. (In Belgium we typically use Azerty as well.)
The French boxart shows an A on the top row. The game manual implies a computer will treat it as if it is QWERTY layout (if you were buying it for that reason).
