Games that haven't been remastered....but deserve to be!

I still wish for Namco and Monolith Soft to remake Xenosaga trilogy for Switch. Especially since Episode I & III never released in Europe back then, I really would like to play them, but don't really feel like playing on PS2 anymore.

That's the big one for me, too. Remaster in that case would be more of a remakr though. An upscaled PS2-game would be awful.

Having a remastered Xenosaga trilogy using Xenoblade 2-graphics would such a mega announcement for Swich and truly propel its worth as a rpg-system. Not to speak of the hundreds of hours of quality jrpg-time that would give players - and most have never played these, myself included (I'm currently playing Xenogears on Vita for the first time).

Imagine a release timeline like that and I'd have little else left wishing for:

Summer/Fall 2018: Xenosaga Episode 1 remaster
Winter 2018: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 story DLC
Late spring 2019: Xenosaga Episode 2 remaster
Fall/Winter 2019: New IP (open-world action rpg with more medievl asthetics)
Summer 2020: Xenosaga Episode 3 remaster
Spring 2021: Xenoblade Chronicles X remaster (with additional story chapters post-original-game)
Winter 2021: Xenoblade Chronicles 3X (sequel to 2, but also revealing that X fits into it, too)

Phew.
Xeno-heaven :)

As Ubisoft just recently stated that there are no plans for a Rainbow Six Sequel and no other Dev is recently working on a serious attempt for a realistic (non-military) tactical shooter:

Rainbow Six Series: Rogue Spear or RS3 or Vegas 1 + 2 (merged together)

Someone already mentioned this but I'm gonna double down on it: WTH, Squarenix! Why not release an updated version of Dragon Quest VIII for PS4 and PC / Steam? You've already released most of the Dragon Quest games on Android with updated visuals. You guys release all the spinoff DQ games like day one. But mainline DQ games are just in this perpetual limbo, there's no release date for DQ 11 yet and DQ VIII which is arguably the most recognizable of the bunch, still hasn't made the jump, apart from the 3DS port, that is.

Square Enix has such an amazing catalogue that they could be just making remakes for the next 3 gens. And I would not complain.

Demon's Souls, obviously. And I would love someone to do Oblivion with up to date graphics, etc. Possibly my favourite game of all time.

Onimusha 1-4!!!
It actually blows my mind that Capcom hasn't done this yet.

Also:
Xenosaga trilogy
Baten Kaitos
Skies of Arcadia
Metroid Prime trilogy

I'm actually not too crazy about a Demon's Souls remaster. I mean of course i'd buy it on day 1 but i have played the game too many times and i still have my PS3 connected at my last gen set up.

Shining Force 3 and Panzer Dragoon Saga. Maybe the Lunar series, but technically they have been remastered.

Remasters I'd like to see:

- FreeSpace 1&2 with modern AAA graphics would be incredibly awesome.
- Fallout: New Vegas could use a better engine. Love the game but the shooting mechanics aren't that great, combat is slow and cumbersome.
- Deus Ex, while I have no problem playing the original even though it's getting old, I still wouldn't say no to same game on a modern engine.
- System Shock 2, same as above.

Remakes I'd like to see:

- Severance: Blade of Darkness would be glorious as long they wouldn't chicken out and cut the amount of gore, it's not Severance unless you can whack the head off of an enemy and then throw it at the next.
- Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic 1&2, great games but have aged pretty badly and not just technically.
- Syndicate and Syndicate Wars.

Definitely GTA IV!
To this date it's my favorite game of the series, but some parts of it have aged badly. I would love a remastered version of IV, including all DLC of course, with enhanced visuals, stable 60 fps (on console), updated controls and shooting mechanics and added smaller QoL improvements such as proper Autosave, shorter loading times etc.
In my opinion, many people have a much too negative opinion on GTA IV and I feel, that a remastered and improved version of the game would help improve the general perception of the game as well as give a huge number of new players a chance to play it for the first time since GTA V has sold significantly more copies than its predecessor.

This is what I came here to say. I think GTA IV with mission checkpoints, ability to talk on phone and run/walk/car jack etc, few friends calling or ability to turn off, and some slight tweaks to the responsiveness off the on-foot controls would be all that I ask for in a remaster. Anything else extra added is icing on the cake. GTA IV is almost ten years old and it's still amazing.

  • Ico Bluepoint Remaster.
  • The MotorStorm Collection - The four main games, really not bothered about RC.
  • The SSX Collection - SSX, SSX Tricky and SSX 3.
  • The Burnout Collection - It seems that Paradise is actually getting a release so in this I'd include the four PS2 games.
  • Sega Arcade Racing Collection - All of them, seriously, ALL OF THEM!

Its been said but Super Mario 64, I'd also love to see Super Mario Sunshine remastered.

The Killzone series would be a good one that I'd be in for some multiplayer.

I'd love to see Valkyria Chronicles 3 get localized/ remastered and maybe added in as a pre-order bonus for Valkyria Chronicles 4.

It should be released in HD on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Capcom released Resident Evil remake that was originally a Gamecube exclusive just like this on all consoles few years ago so there might be a chance. They could include the original PS1 version and this so everyone would be happy.

Demons Souls, Dark Messiah, Silent Hill series, Resistance series, Motorstorm series, Jazz Jackrabbit 1 and 2, F.E.A.R., Commander Keen, Re-volt, Siren series, Fatal Frame series... etc. Shame that most of this industry ignores the legacy stuff, old games are fun, but diggin' out old hardware from storage and trying to pay reasonable price for an old game that's not available digitally - not so cool.

As much as I am loathe to put money in their pockets now, I would still shell way the heck out for a PC collection of MGS1-4. I also would like to see Black and White 1+2 get some love. Dark Messiah:Might and Magic is another great one.

I'd love to see Lionheads 'The movies' remastered. The game itself was all kinds of horseshit, but the filmmaking elements in conjunction with the expansion features were pretty cool. Still kind of surprised that this hasn't yet appeared on GOG in truth.

Oh yes please, Skies of Arcadia. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to mention it.
Still probably my favorite RPG of all time. I'd even play a rerelease if it came to the Switch.

Knights of the Old Republic. The game mechanics have aged pretty well and the story/world are still great but man the hoops you need to jump through to just get it running at 1080p is lame.
