What is the one exclusive game that could make you purchase a PS5/XsX respectively on day one?

If they announce The Last of Us 3 exclusive for the XSX I'll buy two of them day one! (pending availability).

God of War will make me buy a PS5.

I would love a new IP for the new generation.

There have been games in the past I would have bought an entire console and if no other game I was interested in on the platform, I still would not have regretted my purchase.

Super Mario 64 on N64, Final Fantasy VII on PS1, Lunar on Sega CD and Persona 4 Golden on Vita, for example.
I did that for Last of Us and Halo 5. Last of Us I dropped after 3 hours, Halo 5 I played for several months. Would still rate both as a bad investment.

Honestly, not even an exclusive, but some proper FOV options. I just couldn't stomach the already existing exclusives on PS4 Pro because of it. That's the #1 reason I'm not even slightly interested in these consoles.

That being said, 4K 60 fps Bloodborne + some GI magic sprinkled on top WOULD make me think about it. ;)

Horizon 2 or God of War 2 probably. I like a lot of Sony Exclusives but those and TLOU are probably the only day one system sellers for me at this point and I’m playing TLOU next month.

MS it would have to be a surprise. I don’t like that many of their exclusives this gen, really just the campaigns in Gears 4 & 5 and Halo 5 and Quantum Break. None of those are day one system sellers franchises for me

As many games as I'd *love* to see made, I don't think there's anything that would make me buy a console day one anymore. With physical and digital backlogs bursting at the seams with so much great stuff I haven't even got to experience, I have no reason to pay a premium to be an early adopter. I'm patient.

Even a God Hand 2 given a 10 by IGN couldn't make me jump in early! :p

PlayStation: here is the PS5. Its $550 and it works out of the box without internet. We would like to show you Gran Tourismo 7 running on PS5. All cars and tracks from GT Sport with another 100 cars and a full offline single player grind from nothing component.

I’ll preorder right now.

I will buy XSX on Day One regardless of Games on Day One, even though I'm expecting a Great Halo Game. I will buy PS5 most probably 6-12 months after Launch; I can't see the big games coming out on Launch. Hope to be wrong though, and I might change idea.

Horizon Zero Dawn part 2. Keeping all the good stuff from part 1, but with more refined traversal animations for Aloy (jumping, climbing, swimming, etc...), improved facial animations in conversations, dialogue options while we're at it, deeper customisation & crafting for gear... Basically tightening things up & going more RPG while keeping the great action. Oh & with a commitment that the franchise will remain single player only.

For Series X... Fable. Looking better than ever, big & beautiful with tight gameplay & good, satisfying RPG systems, with that same style & sense of humour that was so unique to the franchise. & of course, single player.

If both those were revealed as launch titles, I'd have some serious thinking to do.

I couldn't care less about exclusives, after all the main reason why I purchased a PS4 back in 2014 was because of the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront.

This time, my number one reason to acquire a PS5 this holiday season is none other than the new Batman game.

EDIT: Actually none, I have self control and I enjoy reading gaming forums more than actual gaming. lol

There isn't one - cos I know I'll finish it in 15/20 hours and that's that. Unless it's some MMORPG (which I don't play cos life's too short), I still don't own a PS4 because there's only 2 or 3 games I would actually play on it. THat's nowhere near enough and the console has reached the end of its lifespan.

I love being a day one purchaser and have never regretted it for various reasons (e.g. Luved my ps3 og touch buttons and style, enjoyed original vitas screen, etc).

With that said I am getting ps5 day one bcus I enjoy most of their exclusive ips more than others on any other system.

Nextbox I'd might get if they go full on with a new good Fable that's quality. I am a sucker for Rpgs tht are well done, specifically ARPGs.

No need, I'd buy them day one without any games for enhanced backwards compatibility alone.
Hypothetically? Gran Turismo 7 and Halo Infinite are enough, or any other games really.

I'd but either if they came with a remaster of Crazy Taxi 1 & the criminally underrated part 2. Maybe a little bit of tightening up here and there but leave the mechanics as they were (not to mention the soundtracks) and give me eye scorching ray traced, 4k, 60fps next-gen cities rebuilt from the ground up.

Killer instinct.

It was the only reason why I bought an Xbox first this gen.

But really I don't want to be buying a console for one games

Spider-man 2 or FFVII Remake - Part 2.

Since both are far away, guess I'm currently in a no launch buy mood.

SMT/Persona and Drakengard/NieR. If Xbox get one these series as exclusives, I would buy that system in a heart beat.

Honestly, I don't see me getting the Series X when I have the gamer pass and will probably upgrade my computer again at the end of the year. I don't know what the Xbox Studios are cooking up, but for now I will get Forza 8, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Hellblade 2.

For PS5 there are lot of exclusives that I will get, like the next Final Fantasy VII Remake, God of War sequel, Days Gone 2 (just want a better performance, because it was rough to say the least), Silent Hill (if true) , Demon's Souls Remake (if true), Bloodborne 2 (highly doubt it will ever be a thing), the rumoured Legacy of Kain Remake, and some other Japanese titles that are exclusive to it.

I will never purchase another Xbox because
A. Remedy is no longer making exclusive games for Microsoft
B. Even more of their exclusives are making the jump to PC, which is a vastly better option

There's a ton. PS5 and any Nintendo consoles are already day one for me, so we're talking Xbox.

If Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona, any From game or many other third-party games turned into Xbox exclusives I'd buy one. None of that is likely to ever happen though.

Microsoft could get a new high-quality JRPG. Or make a sequel to Lost Odyssey and I'd get one day one. I'll likely get one near launch anyway as long as there is at least one game I want to play that isn't on PS5 (Halo, Gears, Forza I have absolutely zero interest in).
couldnt you just stream it on Xcloud . Not like you need mega low latency for a RPG

For PS5: a new Resistance game. My favorite games on PS3 and I really want to see Insomniac do another one.
for XSX: Halo. But it has to be great and different enough from the Xbox one versions. I’ll just play on the One X if 343 fucks up again.
