Report: Sony leadership has a “desire for revenge” against Bungie over live service problems

What sort of imbecilic company 'seeks revenge' against their own subsidiary who they have 100% control over? Makes no sense. Sony should be pissed at themselves for their own mismanagement and that's it.

bungie would be out of business by now if they had to stand on their own 2 feet. The highlight of their output from the last 5 years is Pete Parsons making people look at his sick cars before laying them off.

David Jaffe allegded through his source(s) at some point that Hulst's behaviour is kinda petty in a way.

Can't blame them. Sony was so stupid to listen to them to cancel TLOU Online. Unforgivable sin.

(If its true)

You gotta admit, Sony sorta has a right to be angry

They buy bungie for 4 billion, for their "live service expertise" and fucking Concord comes out

That said, it's obvious that the destiny has a passionate fanbase, it would be for the best to have those 400 employees on the pre production of D3

Someone at Sony picked up the controller on an old demo of last of us factions 2 they had in the back, and was like.

"This is sick!"

"Who told you to cancel this?"

....

Probably Bungie told them to cancel it because they wanted to eliminate any potential competition for Marathon

Has this ever been corroborated anywhere other than a rumor?

I'm not really sure what to believe, but at this point I don't care.

It's been so many years since Bungie made anything I give a crap about, and their GAAS monetization isn't great...so fuck'em at this point.

Sony really should've invested in more diverse kinds of games, than putting so much in GAAS products.

In real life, Sony's leadership is the one and only reason for this mess. Is it okay to seek revenge against PlayStation executives? I think so by their claims!

Lmao but what kind of revenge? Is it a revenge like Kratos to Zeus in GoW 3 or is it a revenge like Ellie to Abby in TLOU2?

The desire for revenge is absolutely ridiculous.

You buy a studio that isn't worth the money, have a workforce of around 600 people develop a dud like *Marathon*, and now you want revenge—for what, exactly?

Because you released a game with so little content that not a single soul wants to play it?

How can you let a studio spend so many years in development only to end up with a result like that?

Do they just let Hermen Hulst get away with any old crap simply because he used to work at the studio that created a best-selling IP called *Horizon*?

Any rational person knows: give players the games they actually want, not some trash you think you can foist on them.

Sony is looking for clowns to put the blame for their own GaaS seeking failures, while Bungie has consistency being failing and giving losses to Sony. Of course would make sense attrition between two losers, both are pointing fingers at each other.
