AMCTV said:AMC announced today from Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, CA the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 3 on Sun., Oct. 14 at 9/8c. As previously announced, the series' third season will consist of 16 episodes. Season 3 will also air in two-parts with the first eight hours kicking off Oct. 14 and returning Feb. 2013 with the final eight episodes. Following The Walking Dead will be the season premieres of AMC's unscripted series Talking Dead, hosted by Chris Hardwick (Nerdist), at 11/10c and Comic Book Men at 11:30/10:30c. Season 2 of both series consists of 16 half-hour episodes. Internationally, The Walking Dead will return to audiences in 120+ FOX International Channels (FIC) markets the week of Oct. 15 as part of FIC continued commitment to broadcast the series near date-and-date globally.
Even before the premiere of the Season 2 finale was breaking basic cable television ratings records with 9 million viewers tuning in, the producers of The Walking Dead TV series were already hard at work writing the script for Season 3. Promising to be the most intense and fast-paced chapter of the series yet, the upcoming season will take place within what is agreed upon by fans of the comic to be the most exciting arc of the graphic novel. The filming for the new season began promptly at the start of the second week of May with at least half of the episode scripts for Season 3 having been written for over a month now. Comic-Con 2012 treated us with a first-look trailer at Season 3 that showcased an assortment of scenes from only the first 6 episodes of the 16-episode season. I’ve compiled a list here of pertinent Walking Dead news and info released over the past few months, including the media blowout that came with this year’s Comic-Con. Any future news and info related to The Walking Dead TV series released between now and October can be posted here for discussion as the Season 2 thread will now be locked. A special thanks to Cornballer for suggesting the idea of this thread and allowing me to create it.
