When you consider that this was written for the EGM audience, it makes more sense that shit like Need For Speed and Naruto wound up on the list. Knowing his persona, I find it hard to believe that Scott Sharkey is interested in even half the stuff here.

It simply isn't on anyones "Oh shit, I really must have this" list.

If game sales = game anticipation, surely COD5, FIFA '09, WOW:WOTLK etc would also be on the list?

It kind of is on the list. They say it's 16 games you should anticipate or whatever. They just give blurbs for 14 of them. I guess they feel there's plenty being said about the two games elsewhere (and they link to that). I mean, they have a whole mini-site there for LBP, what more could you want.

Puzzled at the lack of Little Big Planet? Mirror's Edge? Have no fear, Mr. Scott Sharkey briefly mentions these titles from the onset. What does the collective GAF hive mind make of the list? I can think of a few titles I'd rather have seen on there.

When I read this list before I could have sworn they didn't mention LBP or Mirror's Edge at the beginning. I'm thinking they just tacked them on later on. Either way it's still a painfully shitty list.

It does seem as though Sharkey was handed a list and told to write a summary of each game, which concerns me. I can't picture him playing a few of the titles listed. This isn't a list to predict which games will sell, it's a recommendation list for titles you need to be watching out for this fall. So as an opinion piece, it fails hard.

Mostly good outside of Wii Music, Naruto, and Midnight Club/Last Remnant....

Despite my general disdain for some of the more successful Wii titles, I understand why Wii Play, Wii Fit, and Animal Crossing have or will sell a ton of copies. But Wii Music in particular is not going to work especially in the West.

The new Naruto looks as interesting as its 360 brother which was not a big hit, and the is also a particular anime that has already lost most of its relevance.

I also think that Midnight Club and Last Remnant are going to have a very small impact over here.


Games not included like Dead Space, Rock Band 2, and Guitar Hero World Tour will have a much larger impact then those 4 mentioned games.
