1UP SHOW - Street Fighter IV am here?

its cool man, just trying to keep you from being banned:P
Thanks, I do try to stay clean. Not that I haven't seen much worse stuff on other threads, though. :lol

Haters be damned, this looks great. As long as they keep up the speed from the main show (outro was a bit slowed down, I think) the gameplay will reseble SF as well.

Too bad we only got to see Ryu and Ken pummel eachother from every possible angle (camera tilting works superb btw!!).

so you saw like 15 seconds of gameplay of a game that doesn't even have a real launch window yet and you can already tell it'll suck?
He says that he doesn't want, not specifically that it sucks. People can do that you know... deciding not to buy a game :O zomg

For the finished game, I want the backgrounds to be as detailed as "Pinball Derby" in The Bigs

hope someone important sees this post :(

Not surprising. He said he already was expecting not to like it even before watching anything:

As I expected.

I wish we had some other opinions of the game at this stage. While I trust the 1up guys, we're the ones who are always saying you have to be skeptical of "exclusive" this or that. That being said, I trust them more than anyone else in the business so I think they are all being open and honest about how they feel about the game.

After watching some more of the video, I like how fast it's moving, but the graphics are still underwhelming. The problems is, as they stated, when you go 3D, you immediately start putting yourself next to the Virtue Fighters, Soul Caliber's, and Dead or Alive's. And all those games look better than this right now, IMO. Different art styles, yes, but not as jaw-dropping.

And ftr, sarcasm can get lost on message boards. This is nothing new.

I almost didn't listen to anything they said I just looked at the footage available and drew my own conclusions. I only really paid close attention to what the dev was saying.

I don't think anyone from what was shown could say that was disappointing as there are definitely sections in the video that show tons of potential and once the fighting really gets going it looks damn good I think and true to its roots just with some new touches.

Well maybe that was a bit much I did listen to their descriptions of the new systems added.

so where are the mirrors? the hosts are all fucking slow and i dont have the time to sit and wait 5 hours.

I don't know why people are bitching about this already. In EGM didn't they say it was like 2% complete or something? From the footage, it looks like it plays just fine, the hits seem to connect with weight like we expect in an SF game.

The thing about the producer designing Ingrid from CFJ, that's incorrect right? Since Ingrid was in the unreleased Capcom Allstars. I'm not so sure I'd take her as any indication of new character designs, Ono seems to want to stay faithful to classic SF2, it seems like anything they add in they will want it to gel with the classic game.

I'm hyped for this, hope we get to see Chun-Li and Dhalsim soon. (they seemed to be worrying about Dhalsim's design, but he was a little bigger in the Alpha/Zero series). I have faith. :D

I have some mixed emotions after having seen that video.

I dont like all the talk about accessibility. This trend is really starting to bore me.
Unfortunately I'm powerless to it.

if you can't at least get an idea of what the game will be like from gameplay footage (not to mention the series' history in this case) then your imagination is seriously lacking. and what on earth does not having a specific release date at the moment have to do with anything?

Saw the video, don't like it very much. It reminds me the EX saga... latency between animations seems not good to me, also ryu and ken looks horrible and deformed. I don't want to say "b** art", but I'm start to think it... :(
I'll wait for more movies and more screenshots, hoping the project will turn good.

After seeing how big Ryu and Ken are, and hearing about Dhalsim being fairly average instead of the skinny ass that he was, I'm REALLY interested in seeing the Chun-Li model :D. Thigh size more than anything.
Me, too, if only to see if she wouldn't look out of place in the original Virtua Fighter, being just polygons without textures at this point.

Downloading right now through the alternative link, 310 KB/sec and 12.5 minutes to go. :D

You know I noticed that there is dashing too. you can see Ryu doing a dash twoards the end of the youtube video. I really think the gameplay is going to be a mix of 3s (ex moves, dashing) and SF2 + whatever else is new.

Wow, I watched a 20 minute video, and all I actually wanted to see was 47 seconds of gameplay. What a waste :lol

Coming from a guy who isn't really big into street fighter, the look of this game really interests me. It kinda reminds me of powerstone, but with update graphics, etc (BTW, I love powerstone). Anyways, I'm not really into fighters, but this game looks like it may hold my interest longer then other hardcore fighter games, so the creator is doing something right.

I was really turned off by the art style when they first revealed the screenshots. Seeing it in motion has really turned me around. That along with it being easier to perform the moves makes it even better.

The animation looking "jerky" is on purpose. When characters connect in SF games there is a frame pause. It _should_ be that way.

edit: Also part of it is retaining the classic SF gameplay... when the character transitions from crouch to stand, it HAS to happen almost instantaneously because it is so important for blocking or doing moves... they could make the transition a little smoother though between some poses/moves and hopefully they continue to work on that.

The SFIV footage in the outro is slowed down to 80% in Final Cut Pro.

I like what I see.

BTW, seeing the video makes me think a Wii version isn't out of the question.

i dont see why people would still think that after seeing it in motion. did you not see that background detail?
