20 PS4 exclusives and console debuts for 2016

Damn, what a list.

2015 was an amazing gaming year for me, but this looks to top it. Unless UC4, Horizon, Ratchet and NMS end up somehow being total mega stinkers, which could always happen!

GT Sport(not beta) in 2016 is silently confirmed

Nah, it was confirmed as a 2016 title back when it was announced

Racing fans, brace yourselves — this evening at the Paris Games Week PlayStation Press Conference, Kazunori Yamauchi, along with SCEE CEO & President Jim Ryan, unveiled on stage the latest Gran Turismo iteration: Gran Turismo Sport, coming to PS4 in 2016.

Gravity Rush 2 is coming to the west in 2016??

I'd certainly hope so. It should be something like a worldwide simultaneous release.

This game is the new TLG :/

Rime is being made by a tiny team without anything remotely approaching the pedigree of team Ico. All we've seen is a cool aesthetic. It's bizarre to me that no-one is asking "but what do I DO?!" about Rime whereas No Man's Sky, for which there is tons of released information, is plagued by exactly that.

Don't get me wrong, Rime looks interesting and I hope it turns out to be a worthwhile game. But I certainly don't have Trico levels of expectation.

I loved the fact they started with Horizon Zero Dawn, It just bolstered confidence within me!

Please don't delay please don't delay please don't delay

Herman Hulst and Mark Norris said it's targeting 2016
Some GG rep said "off-the-record" at Gamescom 2015 to someone at a german enthusiast show that had a one hour interview that they are willing to delay to early 2017.

Combine that with Sony's willigness to let the holiday window slip by and get ready.

Thanx man for the info! It's not what I want to hear, but what I honestly expect....No biggie tho I understand quality comes first and they need to get this new ip rite, i expect it to be very thunderous 😎

It helps that the game has been in full development for at least 2 years now (since they shipped Killzone Shadowfall)

Pre-production likely started before that, especially given that it's the studio's first big shot at a new IP. By this fall, it will be in development for 3 years, which is a pretty standard cycle. Couple that with an already existing engine, shared tech from other 1st parties, etc, I don't see why the game would get delayed.

GG is efficient though. I think it will only get delayed if Sony has another big game for the holiday season 2016.

No Detroit though huh.

Clearly not very familiar with Atlus. This wouldn't be the first time they released games on 'dead' consoles.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is being released for the PS3 in NA, and Persona 5 was still stated to be released for the PS3 in NA when the delay happened in September 2015.

They've already announced that the PS3 version is coming to NA at least before the PS4 version announcement and they haven't said anything about canceling it.

Right, how can I forget that Persona 4 was also released on PS2 in 2008.

Aren't Tequila nearly 30 strong?

Not sure that's what I'd call a tiny team...

I think we understand by now the amount of games coming out this year, specifically for Playstation 4.

Good to see Sony give Nier some backing. Yes we want that, and more of it.

This is the euro channel. Good luck getting SCEA to be competent about these types of games this year. Which is a shame. They could go far with their backing

I think they've shown 2 years in a row that they don't think that is a requisite.

I also think efficiency only gets you so far when you're tackling a new genre. (And within that genre not just going down well trodden paths, like Batman combat.)

Only 6 out of these that I'm getting day 1:
Horizon: Zero Dawn - Most likely going to get delayed.
Uncharted 4
TLG
Nier 2
GR2
NMS

What. Rime was clearly communicated as a puzzle/adventure game from the very first trailer. NMS was this land on a plant, roam around for a bit, get in a ship, rinse and repeat game for a while. It wasn't clear if there was a goal, an end, a story or anything to it. (before they started releasing info of course)
Abzu & Rime should have been in there.
Absolutely. Another day 1 games for me.

I would think they want to hit mainstream appeal with a mass marketable game and the sweet $299 price point. Horizon would seem like the perfect holiday game to be bundled.

Who am I kidding? Sony doesn't care as long as they have Destiny 2, Battlefield 5 and COD bundles.

I hope 2016 will be the game that brings me back to japanese games. In the last few years i played way too many similar open world games and really look forward to some japanese influence in the gaming industry.

But iam also trying not to get too hyped, because every year looks amazing on paper and then many games turn out meh, and alot of them get delayed into the next year.
Suprise me, 2016!

So instead of listing Ni No Kuni 2, Ace Combat 7, Ni-Oh, or even P5 they decided to list dreams beta?! also I guess this confirms that Detroit isn't a 2016 title?

NnK2 and AC7 are almost certainly 2017 titles, and P5 hasn't been announced for Europe. Which would just leave NI-OH.

I hope they are not lying with The Last Guardian, and it's really coming this year.

PD: the music of the video is horrible.
