20 years of EA Sports. Post your first game!

I may have owned an EA Sports game on the MegaDrive or SNES, but I can't remember that far back.

That game always confused me. Why wasn't it "road to the world cup"?
I can't explain it but "road to World Cup '98" is the same thing as saying "road to Disneyland" instead of "road to the Disneyland".

FIFA International Soccer on the PC back when you had to load everything through DOS.

You could cheat by headbutting the ball when a goalkeeper went to kick it out after having saved it. Was brilliant when you compared it to everything else not called Sensible World of Soccer.
This, but mine was SNES version.

What is considered to be the first game? My memory is failing me, but I have owned just about every game in this thread. No zany golf or amiga titles.

My second PS1 game! My friend and I decide to take a break from quick races and driving around the track backwards and actually did a season. But what freaked us out is when the announcer came on in a cutscene before a race and said "welcome to beautiful Ashland, Oregon blah blah blah.."

WTF. My town has like 20,000 people in it and there probably isn't a NASCAR track within 1000 miles of here. The cutscene was definitely filmed here though. Really bizarre that they would set one of the races in my town when there is absolutely no NASCAR culture in this part of the country haha.

The very first FIFA (94 I think, but it didn't have the year after it) on the Mega Drive. I put hundreds of hours into each Pro Evo these days, but I can't imagine the number of hours my brother and I spent with the original FIFA. A fantastic game, shame it's all but impossible to play today.

First EA game for me too. I also remember that you could position yourself on a certain place when the keeper took a goalkick and it would just automaticaly bounce of your player and in the goal haha

The start of a legend.

Edit: Looking back on all the gameplay pics here and it is a shame that you no longer see graphics like that for handheld sports games. I'd much prefer that sort of 16-bit look on a DS or PSP rather than just a shrunk down version of the console game.

tbh i cant remember...

must have been fifa international soccer or nhl. both on pc
the latter has always been the better product. the nhl ea team is doing a great job.

didnt play fifa that much until fifa96. had more fun with nhl and before that with kick off 2

Later on the next year their '95 line was awesome. Madden, NHL, FIFA...so good. Bill Walsh College Football 95 wasn't that great though.

Never forget! :

Turning off the ref was so amazing with the indoors matches, could injury everyone on the other team without the ball ever going out, was pretty brilliant when playing multiplayer.

NHL 94-95

about the time i started playing video games as a young kid. Those games were absolutely amazing. Roenick was also unstoppable!

also, not my first, but EA, GIVE ME MUTANT LEAGUE HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL ON XBLA!

Yeah baby.

Oh, what I always wondering: Is that Madden guy actually a really popular person or is it still called Madden because the name has established itself as the synonym for the franchise?

I even owned it. Boy, was that game ugly. xD

Till I get time to talk to my older brother, some mid 90 NBA game, can't remember which right now. The best one I remember was like with many others here the FIFA WM 98 game, probably the first EA sports game I bought with my own money, it was perfect, so many teams, all past finals to play, can't think I've played a better FIFA after that one. Edit: Or it may have been a NHL game for SNES. :E

Loved the cover shoot for One on One, but never owned it, so I guess mine is
