2006 videogame (software/hardware) release month prediction thread

I thought we could have a GAF prediction thread for the big happenings in 2006. Let's only predict target month though, since predicting a releasedate is too difficult.

These are some the things that thought we could predict. (add stuff to your list if you want)

This is what I think:

Hardware

PS3 (Japan) - June
PS3 (NA) - October
PS3 (Europe) - February 2007

Revolution (Japan) - August
Revolution (NA) - September
Revolution (Europe) - December

Software
(Going with North American releases here only)

Final Fantasy XII - October
Zelda: TP - August
Oblivion(360) - May
SSBR(rev) - September
New Super Mario Bros DS - May

Ehh...I'm not good with either dates or review scores so I'll give another prediction:

Halo 3 sales - 2M units in 3 days (FRI-SAT-SUN), including preorders.

That's the only thing I can bet on real money.

Halo: The Movie can of course fuck my prediction up.

I think PS3 will be late just about everywhere. I'm not basing that on any feeling about Sony's ability to deliver, I just don't think it'd hurt them for the anticipation to be that little bit more agonizing. I suppose Xbox 360's presence on the market might be a factor, but I can just see the whole late-console/console-shortage thing happening all over again. PS2 was released in October, it'd be a nice sort of anniversary for them in NA if they hit that. Thats my only motivation for that one..

I believe Nintendo will try and stick to their plan of a full-rollout within 14 weeks. GBA SP and Nintendo DS were quite quick launches -- Europe is traditionally the big stumbling block. Nintendo DS launched nigh on simultaneously in JPN and the US, and DS actually hit the shops in the US first! Thats an interesting thing to consider here imo. DS however, also took just under 5 months to get to Europe. IIRC, GBA SP was faster there. I just have a strong feeling that Nintendo will be successful in getting Revolution out in Europe this year. And if they do aim to do that, they'd do so in a comfortable amount of time before Christmas imo: I'm thinking November. Thats what 360 was slated at just before it was pushed back to Dec 3. I believe its the same sweet spot NOE will go for. Gamecube released in Japan in September, I'm actually gonna guess that something similar to what happened to DS is going to take place at around that time of year, with the Japanese and US launches close together. That 14 week window puts it in Europe on or just before December.
