lol the 98 Lakers had no second option who was a high level player in the league, that is not more talent. Pippen was also pretty average before Phil but that was because he was really young and raw.

Stop talking about shit you don't understand.

Nick at Night (sorry about the version you guys got, Brandi)

and

Eddie Stones

I would have loved to have those 2 cats in 2000.

But you're right, we did have John Celestizzle.

"Dirk is getting far too much credit. His offense was about as valuable, maybe less so than Rip Hamilton's was. It was the entire Mavs teams 3 point shooting + teammates covering for Dirk on Defense that won. Dirk definitely wasn't carrying the team." -RealGM poster

this is why you don't read realgm.

I liked 2003 Nick the Quick. Dude averaged almost 20 points a game in the playoffs on a good percentage and made numerous clutch shots. Trading him for Jamison was one of the worst decisions the Mavs ever made.

2008 Eddie Jones was just freaking sad.

He gives a fuck about the Mavs doing well (when he's not wishing death on the second best player on the team) not what the fuck my team is doing or not doing.[/B]

Dude, you must hate a lot of people on here then. And if Heat fans followed this rule too, we'd hate everyone as much as you all hate us.

Lots of peeps here spend time waiting and hating on my team to fail rather than rep their own squads.

What you got last year in South Beach is a small sample of what we get in LA.

Whether we are good or not.

Check the posts from circa 2005-2007.

Venom was still spewing...

The closest peeps that understand how the haters just swarm are prolly Yankee fans.

But it's full of so much unintentional comedy. Just today there's this thread:

Wow Kendrick Perkins looks amazing.

You have a tiny sampling size. The Mavs as a team including dirk played better vs OKC than they did Portland. Just because Aldridge was more effective in that series doesn't mean that Aldridge>Ibaka defensively dude. Ibaka is already an elite defensive big. By the end of this season he will have a legit shot to win DPOY.

we should be watching basketball right now :(
I've been rewatching some of the Mavs run. I rewatched game 4 vs OKC recently, and man, Westbrook really did pretty much lose that game all by himself. Multiple long jumpers, stupid turnovers, chasing after balls that were last touched by the other team and knocking them out of bounds, bricking free throws, etc.

I actually think Ibaka might win DPotY whenever there's a next season, but that has to do with how stupid voters are than anything else. People will get bored off voting Dwight as DPotY, KG is declining, nobody has ever watched Andrew Bogut play basketball, and then Ibaka ends up with like 300 blocks and wins DPotY despite being not that great defensively.

Never mentioned you.

I still think you guys are gonna chip soon.

2-3 year frame.

I know I'm not going out on a limb here, just saying.

As a fan myself if we don't win next year I'm pretty sure it's all going to be fucked. But that's probably because that was my personal timeline in expecting title no. 1

That depends on a lot of things.

If the new CBA prevents teams over the cap/tax from signing MLE players they could be pretty screwed.

And Wade isn't getting any younger/healthier.

Right, but Wade doesn't have to be young Wade.

LeBron is coming into his prime at a point when all the previous superstars are on the decline.

Just like Jeffrey in the 90s.

He's not gonna be denied forever, much to Puddles' dismay.

If Bron doesn't get over his 4th quarter shrinkage, he'll be fucked. A healthy Wade couldn't lug him over the hump, a busted old Wade won't be of much use.

Wade might be getting older but I think he has a very creative game and a high IQ and would still find ways to be very effective. But it's going to be a sad day when he's not smashing on Anderson Varejao and Kendrick Perkin's face anymore

hey hey hey, i'm here to watch the lakers fail!

Cause

Well

you know, fuck LA!

Ok ok, i'm here more for the suns. But that's sort of fruitless while they refuse to rebuild.

yeah, if the heat can't go spending the MLE, then they need to draft a rondo.

Yeah but that hinges on Lebron actually having the will and work ethic to win.

That will mean dick when he can't run by guys. He's too short for high IQ or creativeness to matter when he can't jump as high anymore.

Enjoy him while he lasts, dude has two, three seasons left.

The best thing possible for the mavs is happening right now, an extended break. They were a fairly old squad, this should help them.

If they repeat...

But i truly think the most likely outcome is something like the thunder coming out of the west. Though, if the playoff Grizz show up with a healthy Gay?

lawl any self-respecting fan wants the Lakers to lose, they're the Wall Street of the NBA.

Oh gawd...outside my team, I was squarely in Memphis' corner last post season.

Their run was sooooo fun to watch.

Picked up The Witcher: Enhanced Edition on Steam for $10. It better not suck.

I still gotta finish that shit and start Witcher 2.

I really liked the first one... but for some reason I stopped playing it after I got into Chapter 2... I think it's probably because all the characters besides Geralt are really terrible.

yeah, because being able to blow by guys and jump as high is what got the mavs their chip

as long as he's playing even if he's slowed a little he'll still be effective. and he's 6'4 but he's got a longass wingspan and can stand up to taller guys

No that's just what Wade relies on to score almost all of his points. Once that's gone I doubt he can transform into old man Jordan, he lacks the brains for it.

He'll be effective but he has the potential to refuse to accept that he's older and can't play the same game.

If Bron can't chip with this version of Wade, an older, less effective Wade is going to get them bounced even sooner.

Dirk being seven feet tall helps a lot. When you're taller than everyone else and have a ridiculous jump shot it makes it more likely your game will have staying power. Guys who are undersized and not good jump shooters have to alter their game as they get older.

Me too. Best Gasol is fun to watch. And what they did to the spurs?

And ALMOST did to the thunder!

OOOO boy.

Eh, i'd say wade uses his freakish agility more than raw speed to get to the basket. I don't think i've ever seen anyone be able to change direction like he can.

AI said he would be content coming off the bench and would do whatever possible to help his team.

Point is, saying and doing are different things. Old man Wade is most likely going to be as much a shell of his old self as most old former stars.

His best bet is to work on his J like Jason Kidd. But Wade being any less effective is only going to hurt The Heat.

Isiah Thomas and CP3 beg the differ..

but end to end Wade is much faster.. so the combination of both makes him scary

CP3 is certainly up there, but i'd say wade does it better. But yeah, it's the fact that wade can do it at the pace that he does, that is amazing.

When he's "in the zone" he's really fun to watch, until he goes in to foul drawing mode.

in the open court I think Flash does it better.. but in a half court set CP3 is nuts to watch..

Lakers-Gaf. McCourt agrees to sell the dodgers! I don't like baseball really, but I do enjoy going to dodger games. Couldn't do it with that scumbag around.

At least there was some bit of good sporting news tonight.

Jerry Buss should buy the Dodgers and let Jim run it so he keeps his hands off the Lakers.

Well, the Witcher runs great on my machine.

But damn if that engine doesn't look really dated, but every once in a while it will look stunning because of the art style, and other times it will look downright stupid. Like the sequence when you enter the town after those dogs attack.

Some of the story-telling elements and story progression is so typical wRPG but I don't mind it with this game.

Also, any good mods for this?

Cuban was going to buy the Dodgers but McCourt valued the team at $1 billion. I would love it if Cuban owned the Dodgers
