to me it seems like Novak is the perfect combination of the two - he has the ability to craft and set up points like Federer, but he combines it with Nadal's physicality. just look at those drop shots that he sprinkled carefully throughout the first two sets - beautifully cloaked till the last second, and they were all set up after punishing shots that pushed Nadal well off the baseline.

the third set where Nadal seemed to say 'fuck it' and started trading blows instead of mixing in slices was thrilling to watch.

Yea that third set was absolutely insane by Nadal, it pretty much took the entire life out of him. Honestly one of the best sets I've watched. Nadal really could have pounced on Djokovic early in that fourth set but he ran out of gas which is kind of surprising. And Djokovic's forehand....my god what a fucking beast.

I still hope Nadal can beat Federer's GS record though. I love watching him play.

federer's biggest weakness is nadal's top spin while djovovic's biggest strength is using his backhand to pummel that top spin. On the other hand federer's shot making ability is djokovic's biggest weakness which is the reason only Federer seems to be the one getting so close to beating him.

Pretty sure that's Nadal's dad. He seemed to be living and breathing every point with Rafa. An awesome final - brutal shotmaking from both players and rare touches of finesse from Novak combined to make the best final of the year and joint best match of the year (along with RG Semi)
