Horror games have been on a steady incline since 2010 and the success of games like Amnesia and Slender in the indie community, and it only appears to be growing and finding their place in the industry, on PC but also making their way to AAA developers and consoles.

2015 is looking to be a great year for the genre, with a large number of promising entries releasing this year or attempting to release this year, and many more surprises to probably be announced and released this year as well. It might be the best year for horror in years, which after last year and its notable entries of Evil Within, Alien Isolation, Claire, Silence of the Sleep, and more, is impressive.

I've thought sort of like how was done last year, and the RPG topic, let's take a look at horror games coming out 2015;

Alphabetically:

Alone in the Dark: Illumination
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-6BVnUGbuU
Composed of different classes (Hunter, Witch, Technician, Priest), and a co-op focus, it combines elements of Resident Evil and Alan Wake, where you must reveal enemies in light to dispatch them and get through a variety of stages to beat Lovecraftian forces.

Asylum
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNRiVoGQ820
From the creators of the fantastic Scratches: Director's Cut & Serena comes a new point'n'click horror game that follows a man investigating an asylum, promising a mature storyline and a chilling journey as you go through floors of the Hanwell Mental Institute. Scratches is regarded as a top-tier horror point'n'click, which makes Asylum extremely promising.

Bloodborne
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtdwWiTl76s
Successor to Dark Souls, starring a Victorian-era style dealing more with the bloody forces that go bump in the night, you must hunt and eradicate them.

Caffeine
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zglgQ_bkg9E
A indie psychological horror game with a future where caffeine is synthetically made and relied on, and you awaken in one such place it is made.

Call of Cthulhu (2015)
Trailer (kinda): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZiLF_NAfuU
Not much is known at the time, but supposed to come out this year, be a new Call of Cthulhu Lovecraft-based horror game, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XecJOW2IcQ
Coming this year to English-speaking countries by XSeed, the conclusion to the Heavenly Host Elementary School saga of the Corpse Party series, featuring a new 3D graphics style, releasing later this year on Vita.

Corpse Party PC
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPHhqgLYlFc
The original indie version of Corpse Party is coming to Steam! Different from the PSP version somewhat in graphics and different voice actors, but featuring some content that is different and changed from the PSP version, it should be a nice entry point into the series for those who haven't played Corpse Party before to get them into the series and hopefully opens the gate for more Corpse Party to Steam.

Dead Island 2
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sUv-bBrb6Y
A more comedic approach to the franchise after the second game, focused on zombie-slaying fun and over-the-top open-world gameplay.

Dementium 1 & 2 3DS Remake
Trailer: None
Announced to be coming out late this year, Renegade Kids are remaking Dementium 1 & 2 for 3DS

Draugen
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_z-KQl6WOs
Based off of Scandinavian literature, an indie horror game where in a small remote fishing village, everyone has gone mysterious missing. Pulls a lot from folklore and legend.

DreadOut: Act 2
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWQAHcwcCE8
An Indonesian horror game inspired by the Fatal Frame series, the first Act came out last year and presented a surprisingly atmospheric low-quality horror game, the second part of the game (which goes to the conclusion) comes out early this year, free for all people who have purchased DreadOut.

Dying Light
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1YSxalaoSU

The Evil Within: The Assignment & The Consequence

Fatal Frame V: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YZiZdya9eo
We can dream... The Fatal Frame Hollywood movie is supposed to be coming out late this year though, our biggest hope of word of this coming English-speaking side.

Five Night at Freddy's 3
Third entry in the Five Night At Freddy's series, not much information known for now but might be safe to assume it'll feature deranged animatronics with strategy-horror gameplay. Not confirmed to be coming out in 2015, but who is anyone kidding, if anything it'll be out early 2015 at the rate these have been announced and released.

The Flock
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZM9XdKjLzc
A unique multiplayer game. To quote the game's description, "Starting as a Flock in a dark and desolate world, you need to find the coveted Light Artifact. The player who grabs it first, transforms into the Carrier, a fragile, slower and more humanoid creature. The goal of the game is to hold onto the artifact for as long as possible while the other players -- who are Flock -- hunt you down. There's only one thing that can stop them. The Flock can't move while being in the light emitted from the artifact. They have to stand still or they will die in an instant."

The Forest
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9mr4k9X6c8
Already available for Steam Early Access (recently added multiplayer), coming out late this year with its full release and now also scheduled to release on PS4. Join a man who's landed on a deep forest near a coast after an airplane accident deal with cannibals, build, and survive.

Until Dawn
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKAVPofzu2g
PS4-exclusive choice horror game stylized like a teen slasher where you must help aid characters to survive a twisted killer in the snowy mountains, but is that all that's really going on?

---

There's a lot of variety and a lot of entries. What are you looking forward too, what looks meh, excited for this year in horror, think it'll be disappointing compared to last year? There's a lot of different types of horror coming up, and many more surprises that are likely to come. If I missed any, mention it and I'll add it to the OP.

There's a surprising number of games finally coming out inspired by the Slasher or Teen genre, but also more console-headed entries that previous years. We have some old-school love coming from Resident Evil and Corpse Party, possibly Fatal Frame, and a high chance of some old horror games maybe coming to PC Steam and consoles this year. Likely more word for the highly-anticipated Silent Hills. First-Person remains strong, but definitely varied. Some old-school camera games even coming this year.

What do you expect to rustle your jimmies this year?

Great list OP!
Also next year, the remaster/remake of Dementium was announced for the 3DS.
I read good things about that series from the DS and am interested in trying it out.

I'm very much looking forward to experiencing Resident Evil for the first time coming up later this month.

H1Z1 is launching on PC very soon by the way, PS4 version to follow later. The blurb only reflects a PS4 release.

If I could make an organization recommendation.

Three out of four knocked out, will add platforms when I get settled back home a bit later.

I wouldn't call Bloodborne a horror game but that's just me.

It's about Demon Hunters in Victorian times killing demons, which is a bit more action-horror, but usually ends up in the horror category, as displayed by the likes of Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, etc.

Horror game are less "horrific" when you have PCs with assault rifles blowing things away.

Most of those look tame to bad but interesting, like Summer Camp. Hopefully AitD will be good. Same with the Call of Cthulu one. Man, I miss real horror games.

Alien Isolation took the place Routine had in my heart, but I'll still play it anyway. Would be great if it's even better than Alien.

Oh my, I hadn't heard about this, but not surprising with the Dementium II HD in 2013. I'll add it to the list.

It's a very new announcement I believe, I only saw it while browsing through another game site and a tad bit surprised I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on GAF.

I am looking forward to quite a few games. I want to play resident evil, I've never played the original, welllll I attempted it when I was younger and got too scared lol, so I'm going to push onward this time.
I am also looking forward to Bloodborne and Corpse Party. I'm going to watch some of the videos for the rest of these. A lot of choices!!!

Look into Forbidden Memories, DreadOut, NightCry, and Resident Evil HD Remaster if you want some older-styled horror games. There's a few point'n'clicks on this list too, such as Asylum and Fran Brow.

Yeah AitD is looking pretty horrific. That said I'm currently hooked on The Forest and recommend it to people who are even slightly interested in its premise.

As a fan of the Clock Tower series, I'm really interested in Nightcry. It sounds interesting, but that trailer is extremely cheesy. Hopefully they show some gameplay.

Nice list, OP! I'm really interested in seeing which games have VR support. I believe I read somewhere that The Forest will be supporting Morpheus. That would be very exciting.

Nice one OP, I wasn't aware of at least half of those games.

2014 will never be topped though, that was the year that Alien Isolation graced us with it's significant presence.

I'm very interested in it as well, the trailer is by the creator of Ju-On, so not too surprised by cheesiness but I think it'll come out interesting. Interested in the cruise ship setting and some hints about gameplay systems in the point'n'click interface.

That is something we'll probably see a lot of come towards the end of the year: Rift Horror Games. I know at least Narcosis on the list is designed as a VR-based horror game, and others on this list support it.

Love that we're getting some slasher horror genre instead the usual ghost/zombies/monsters.
Can't wait for Until Dawn and Summer Camp maybe.

When is State of Decay releasing. And isn't Undead Labs working on another game?

Spring 2015 and they are working on Class 4, which is the MMO follow up to SoD.

Although I'm personally hoping that's no longer the plan and we just a straight sequel to SoD with co-op and some added features like weapon crafting, more developed base building, more populated city with you playing during the outbreak when everything falls to shit.

Grave is coming to Xbox One also I think

Yes it is.

Great list OP, I'm very excited about the resurgence of my favorite genre. I know that some of these games will turn out to be stinkers, but there will certainly be quite a few worthwhile experiences as well.

Summer Camp will be very interesting as it allows you play as either killer or campers. I can't wait to see how that works out in terms of multiplayer.

Cool, thanks. I missed out on 360 version of SoD, so it's been killer waiting for One version. After taking a quick glance, I'm not sure what to think of Class 4. Not surprised they want to do MMO's based upon developers found their.

Yup, I'm very happy to see the games quantity, scope, ambition rising over the last few years. Some of these may be pushed to 2016, but too soon to say, while a number of horror games will certainly pop out and release out of nowhere, so this list is hardly everything coming out this year.

I suspect a few may be stinkers, but benefit of the doubt. And a few may be hidden gems. Monstrous for example looks and sounds typical, but it's been I alpha for months and I've heard people playing it that it's a gem that may very well surprise people with it's depth, how scary but engaging it can be, and a surprisingly in-depth as varied but intelligent level generation system it uses.

To be seen. I find it funny that Alone in the Dark leads the list, that has a big risk to be a stinker, but benefit of the doubt, and the beta (which I'm in) begins in a few weeks. I'll have impressions then.

Fatal Frame? Is that coming to NA!?
No, I decided to list it but no confirmation. As I say in the description, one can dream. That said, the Fatal Frame Hollywood movie is slated for late this year, so who knows? We can cross fingers.

Fatal Frame I made an exception to include as a maybe because of the movie and dreams, but it's not confirmed. I just wanted to list it. There's a few other possible or near-confirmed maybes, like Resident Evil Zero and a super high chance RE7 will be announced this year (they've reporting lot been working on it since late 2012), but to be seen~

Summer Camp is a third-person, horror, survival game, where players can be a teen counselor or the killer. You don’t have to eat, drink or sleep. Just live. That’s hard enough as it is.

From the website itself.

Awesome list. Hype for that Summer Camp. Has a couple of horror icons attached to it. I hope it's not like Breach and Clear though (the devs latest game)

Wow didn't even know about 90% of these games. Most are on PC though so I don't think I'll be able to play most of them though.
