#Saints and QB Drew Brees have agreed in principle to a 1-year extension, source said. He gets $44.25M fully guaranteed. over the next 2 yrs

That's a lot of money

Not really. Bradford got $20 million this year from the Eagles.

24 per year for Brees isnt really a stretch

Drew Brees could have made life difficult for the #Saints. He didn't. Smart, short-term extension. $24.25M in new money. Luck got $24.6M avg

How are we almost 500 posts into this OT thread without Chris giving us a clASSic cheerleader post?

I've always thought that Howie was great at the deal. Contracts, trades. But he can't draft for crap. Yeah, a first round pick is nice. But look at the Eagles first round picks and how much is that worth? Another Watkins, Smith, Algholor?

Watkins looked excellent in the preseason. PFF graded him as the best safety in the preseason, for what that is worth.

I just realized you were talking about the fireman.

Sorry I should have been more clear, what did you think of giving away a 2nd round pick with upside like Rowe for a 4th rounder? I do like hearing your thoughts on the Bradford trade though.

It's hard to judge b/c something was happening bts, I'm sure. He must have been missing meetings or having bad practices. It does seem absurd though that all they could get was a 4th in 2018!

But, like I said, if I trust Howie at anything, it is the art of the deal. If they get that lineman then I guess it will all work out

They didn't even want that lineman. The guy got cut from the Pats.

The biggest shock to me right now is how much confidence the coaching staff has in the offensive line. I guess it sort of makes sense since Johnson isn't suspended yet.

Didn't practice: Duane Brown (hamstring); Limited: Will Fuller (hamstring), J.J. Watt (back); Full: Akeem Dent (concussion)

Why? Give me one damn season please where these unannounced injuries dont just randomly appear.

Definitely. I thought the Dennis Kelly trade was fine. He's not good and DGB is worth a shot. But their choices at RT are not good, and it sure seems inevitable that Lane gets suspended

Sounds like we may have these threads in OT for a few more weeks...we'll see how everyone feels on Tuesday on whether to stay in OT for a bit or move back. We may just do this check on a weekly basis if people don't feel like being in OT as long as the CFB threads.

remember that time when a Mario runner game announced for iOS was more exciting than new hardware announcements from Sony?

feels weird

Can we post butts?

The offensive line without Lane on first team during week 3 looked excellent though. I know the Colts had a lot of defensive injuries, but I am not sure if that was secondary or on the line. Generally speaking the offensive line has gotten better and better for the Eagles as the preseason went on and didn't look bad at all without Lane with the first team. My big concern is with Peters, but I am hoping he keeps healthy somehow.

So Sony had a conference today to tell people to buy Xbox ones, that was very nice of them. https://mobile.twitter.com/rjcc/statuses/773613020283035648
I don't plan on buying a 4k TV for at least a few more years. Just bought a new 1080p one a few months ago. I don't think it's worth it yet and I think it'll be awhile before 4k games and movies accumulate enough to convince me otherwise.

Regarding Xbox One, why not buy a PC? Xbox is essentially a dead platform at this point, no more exclusive games.

Any word on what effect it'll have on PSVR? Should I just stick to the OG PS4 since it doesn't even play UHD? I tried looking through the threads but it's nothing but complaining.

@glennonsports
Mularkey said Bradford and Hill similar enough that Titans don't have to prepare for both
lmao

4k sets are starting to get cheaper. The lower end models are already under $1000 (well under during sales/deals). It'll only be a matter of time before 4k is the standard like 1080p is now. Waiting isn't necessarily a bad thing either though, as that means more time for HDR to proliferate and work it's way down from the high end of the spectrum.

For me, its a matter of still loving my Panny plasma and not being happy with the current sets out there. I'm waiting on OLED to reach better pricing but when they do, I'm onboard 100%. That's at least another year or two away for me so the lack of UHD BD player is a non-issue. I'm also waiting for the HDR standard to be finalized. That still hasn't happened and we may see dynamic HDR down the line which incorporates some of the stuff Dolby Vision is doing. I'm in for a Pro.

Nonetheless, it's a stupid omission and a "gimme" bulletpoint that Sony gave Microsoft for no reason. There's very little cost associated with adding support but I think it says more about how Sony feel towards the UHD Blu-Ray platform in general. Sony has been pimping their 4K streaming service a great deal and this is pretty much them saying they don't see UHD Blu-Ray as anything more than just a niche platform moving forward. Which is in and of itself a bit sad.

It's always a matter of time, the question is how much? :)

I'll be satisfied for at least 3-5 years with what I've got. 1080p is not even the standard in gaming right now which is really what I care about the most.

I'm still gaming on a Panny plasma as well. *fist bump*

I totally agree with you on OLED, that is truly the future. I also agree that Sony messed up here but it doesn't matter to me personally.

Lol I have no interest at all in playing games on a PC. I bought a gaming PC a few years ago and couldn't stand it. Xbox4lyfe!

I've been genuinely surprised at how well even the really high-end LED sets can look. Still not at high-end plasma levels of course, but a lot better than the older LCD stuff I'm used to. OLED is still way too expensive for me to consider.

VT50 for life, bro. Utterly adore this set. Haven't seen an LED that comes close to matching its black level and if I'm spending 2-3k on a new set, I'm not compromising.

They are much better, yes. I actually like the Visio P series quite a bit but man that thing is a dog for standard TV viewing. Samsung is doing good things as well as is Sony though they still remain overpriced, IMO.

LG's 65inch OLED though is *banderas*. I just need it down to 3k.
