Could not be any less impressed with our offense for winning by 28 points. Did like the defense, but how much of that is just straight up ineptitude on the part of the rams/

Pretty much sums up how I feel. Worried about Patton dropping in competitive games. Gabbert had just as many bad throws as good, which thankfully didn't end up picked. Hyde is a beast, hopefully he stays healthy.

Bets on when Jeff Fischer gets fired?
There is no way that the LA fanbase/media is going to put up with his perpetual mediocrity.

I bet he doesn't even last the season. Out by week 8 is my bet.

edit - Vegas has his odds as third best at +700

Yeah, I liked what I saw out of Hyde and the Oline. I also like Kerley.

Someone hasn't followed the Rams very long. He'll inexplicably beat the Seahawks next week and everyone will forget about this train wreck of a game.

But there is no LA fanbase. I agree he won't last long though. This was too garbage of an opening game. If the Hawks stomp them on Sunday, Fischer's days will be numbered.

Now we get to play a pissed off Panthers' team at their place in 6 days on the East Coast. And it's a morning game.

Josh Freeman Vikings game. The one where he airmailed literally everything?

But at least the Giants weren't terrible. Gabbert was crap tonight. Less than 5 yards an attempt and he threw some really inaccurate passes. I have no idea how good SF is. I imagine they will get stomped by CAR next week (albeit with some unfair schedule/travel hardships)

So from my question earlier in the day, it sounds like more people are in favor of sticking around in OT for at least one more week. We can reevaluate after again on whether we continue to stick around or move back to Community. Who's creating the next thread?

That's fair. Yeah, I can't defend really any part of the passing game tonight, it was totally awful.

And yeah, we're due to get 30+ dropped on us by an angry Panthers team.

I never got a clear answer on whether or not we can discuss booty eating if the thread is in OT?

Let's stay in the OT. Community is too insular and there weren't enough posters. We need new blood, even if they are Pats fans

Upon further review, there is Inconclusive Evidence to see if there was real growth. We should stay in OTD for one more week.

I watched Hard Knocks this year so I actually felt bad for the Rams a little.

But according to the Jeff Fischer flowchart they will win next week so I guess it's ok.

They aren't in St. Louis anymore. There are outlandish expectations on them.

So you think he's safe and keeps his job all season?

Wow. Glad Niners won but that's not gonna cut it against Carolina. Thankfully Tomsula is no longer coaching this team otherwise we're gonna see another Week 2 Pittsburgh debacle.

I can but I need time. I'll have one up tomorrow in the afternoon.

There is no fan base its just hyped espn bullshit, no one but a few loud old farts wanted the rams back in LA. They are trying so hard to convince everyone that the rams are legitimately loved here when everyone know who we really wanted. This team is a stepchild LA is Raider nation with or without them in Los Angeles. The Rams are like the Angels of football in socal ie white people wanting their own team to disassociate themselves from Los Angeles and the hardcore multicultural fan base.

I'm surprised we haven't had more dumb junior posts this OT to be honest.

welp, a win is a win, even if it's against the rams.

i wasn't very impressed with our offense obviously but i did take away these positives:

- redzone offense.... A+. as a niners fan, when was the last time we were 4/4 in the redzone? we have been absolute shit in the redzone, even during the harbs era. this was one of my main concerns with a chip kelly offense and we looked good here (at least for tonight)

- offensive line looked a billion times better. NO SACKS against a pretty good DL.

- kerley looks to finally be a WR that gabbo trusts. great hands and just gets open

- the playcalling... at times. the 3rd quarters was terrible and i'm not sure why we kept trying to jam it up the middle against that team. but, 1st, 2nd and 4th Q i liked what i saw. remember, this is a new offense, some of these guys haven't played together and there are going to be some growing pains. i promise you niners fans, if i told you before the game "we're going to win 28-0 with 4 redzone touchdowns, all of which were on long offensive drives" you would absolutely take that.

i feel like kelly didn't let gabbo do as much as he should have. gabbo started to have some momentum and looked pretty good for stretches there. obviously a terrible YPA but he made some nice passes, loved his running and no mistakes.

not much i need to say for the defense. it was a product of a god awful offense of course but i loved the aggressiveness and we always had guys rallying to the ball.

anyhow, onto the stomping we'll receive from the panthers on 5 days rest :/
