...finally watched the USA women capture the women's team gymnastics medal. My parents used to tell me how international games would be taped delayed over 9-12 hours, but wow I didn't think we would still have such huge tape delays in the modern era. You'd think they would carry the events Live on one of the dedicated sports channels.

It's more annoying is that so many news sites are completely ignoring even the East coast tape delay time and blaring the results on front pages and phone alerts. At least they could tease the result in the headline and have the result in the actual article instead of spoiling it on the headline.

They did show it live, they just repeat it for the primetime audience.
