28 YEARS LATER: The Bone Temple Trailer (2026)

I was a bit mixed on Years, but in for more Jimmy Savile.

Good trailer, but the director has done nothing but shite so not expecting much.

28 years later was absolute tosh 🤷‍♂️

Don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a film. Now, I've zero interest, especially with Nia DaCosta in the mix..

What the actual fuck :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Once again, in 2025, I'm just glad we had the original. Seems to be happening a lot

Recent film was just bad, and not an enjoyable bad like the second film was.

Pointless fact; My friend dated the daughter from the second film when they were younger.

My favourite was the dad just going 'Meh', after being the sole reason the family is still together and disappeared for the rest of the film :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Or getting obesity from Worms..

Or, the turned giving birth, awww, so good!

Or the house, just falling down.

Or Jimmy Saville and his band of bouncy men, wtf..

Shout out goes to gigantor and his trunk though, should have just hit people with that :messenger_tears_of_joy:

..and Ralph was great.

After seeing 28 Years Later I wish we had a device to remove particular memories so I wouldn't know it exists. Same with recent Terminator sequels and a lot of other crap. A horrible movie and I won't be surprised if Bone Temple performs worse in the box office after losing the og fans who also hated 28 Years.

It wasn't a total dud for me but it certainly missed the mark.
this, it had some great moments but overall i was expecting so much better from Boyle/Garland, definitely one of Boyle's weaker movies but still watchable, this looks a ton better, 28yrs later was so tonally off in places it felt like a different movie

Unfortunately this is made by the director of such hits as The Marvels & The Candyman reboot (LOL).

I'm not holding out much hope, although I liked the trailer. Will watch at home.

yeah the trailer for 28yrs later was amazing and look how that turned out, but here's hoping that they take onboard some of the justified criticisms levied at 28yrs later and recut/improve this one otherwise we won't be getting a 3rd movie... tbf i didnt mind the Candyman reboot.. fucking Marvels though.. sheesh

I found the Candyman reboot just to be "whiteman bad movie". Utterly unoriginal and forgettable with nothing to say. Why bother?

really? i didn't get that vibe in the slightest, i just found it to be an above average generic horror movie, was it not an all black cast with the only whiteys being the cops that killed the dude at the start which tbf ain't exactly in the realms of impossibility

With shooting this back to back with the first. I don't see any course corrections happening or any 'feedback notes'

There are reports that this is more like what people expected and is a more 'straight' horror. I also heard some praise for the a few of the performances. But we will see in Jan 26 🤞

But to be fair. I actually did like the first years movie. It was like two movies and one or two parts aside, it was pretty enjoyable. Well until the last two minutes. But I guess that's for this movie to explain away or not …..

I'm hopeful this one turns out well. As getting only 2 movies would seem a little sad (even if Boyle subverted expectations with the first movie)

Didn't watch the trailer but will the Jimmy Saville powers rangers be back for this one ? Can't wait to not watch this shite, last one was enough 👎

OK, this is yet another good trailer, thing is, 1st movie turned out to be completely mid so...

The kid was the worst part of the first movie, absolutely horrible performance, Fiennes was good though and he seems to have a bigger role this time.
Gigantor also seems to play a bigger part in this one ?

As for the rest...we all knew the Jimmy Saville characters would turn out to be bad and at this point, everything looks and feels like a spin-off of The walking Dead (yet again).

Nia DaCosta directing it should kill any hype left IMO. I don't understand how she is still getting a job.

Wait I thought Boyle did this back to back but this is a completely different director?

And what a director at that, lmao. RIP franchise.

I haven't seen the last one, but I'm not surprised a modern movie sucks.
I really can't understand what the hell happened to movie making.
And then people blame the internet for empty theaters.

Last decent Zombie film I saw was Train to Bussan. Has there been anything since worthwhile that I should look at ?

The whole last movie is just a setup for this movie. It was mediocre. This will probably be mediocre too. Only one good movie in this franchise.

Straight up Zombie movies? I don't think so.

Army of the Dead was fucking shocking, avoid. Take it you have seen the Dawn of the Dead remake??

Try Rec (the OG) or Evil Dead Rise. Dead is not strictly a zombie film though.

Edit: Didn't realise Busan came out in 2016, thought it was much earlier.

Edit 2: Did you watch The Battery?

Seen all of those but Battery. I will look into that tonight. Thanks. Rec was great.

I don't actually like the Dawn of the Dead remake. I know a lot of people love it, just not me. I adore the Romero original, and Day of the Dead is my favourite Zombie film ever.

Its an indie film so your milage may vary, I liked it though.

I agree with him completely, and I can't believe you didn't pick up the undercurrent of 'if they're white and they're in the film, they're almost certainly bad guys or about to die horribly'. I mean it was pretty obvious.

Godawful movie. She literally has never directed a good film....but we're in the age where you can be mediocre across the board and still get great work if your demographical associations are in order.

Yep. Again, I don't want to say why, though.
It's absolutely one of those that you have to just sit and knock out. Watched it with my wife in Seattle right before moving to Maine, I think literally like a week before, as kind of a throw away thing. "Well, all the video game stuff is packed up, wanna watch a movie?" and man we were just blown away, utterly loved it.

I won't spoil it either, but ya gotta watch this one fellas.

Its now on the list cheers fellas.

Rather be in a Saw trap than watch 28 Weeks Later again. That film is god awful.

28 Years is just Garland reading The Walking Dead comic and watching The Last of Us and thinking "Nah, I'm doing that."

I am not a horror fan to begin with, the genre just does not connect with me. 28 Years was a bit boring but I did not find it totally unenjoyable. The zombies felt like less of a threat overall, especially the fat ones that crawled on the ground. I did not like the introduction of Alphas, either. Spike was a bit of an idiot and having his quest end up being pointless really blunted the story.

28 Weeks is still my favorite of the 3 so far. All that being said, I am actually interested in this. It looks like it will have more action than Years and Jimmy was someone I wanted to see more of. Little did I know they were planning to give him his own movie all along.

Damn….i haven't watched the last one yet but I've been reading more and more comments about how it sucked. Bummer….I'll still watch it at some point because I love zombie stuff though.

I hope whoever is making these 28 years later movie trailers gets a shot at directing their own show or movie.

They are literally nailing a tone and narrative perfectly to make someone want to go see a movie, even if it might not line up with the movie's tone itself.

It is impressive heavy lifting.

Why is Nia DaCosta so disliked? never watched a movie from that person
I can recommend this gem to get you started.

Currently have Years as my #3 movie of the year, thought it was excellent and should be nominated for its cinematography. However, DaCosta + lower budget is cause for concern.

Is the budget lower ?

I thought each movie was around the same cost.

The director is a concern. As are the jimmys. I have heard this is less of a bold swing and more a traditional style horror movie. So that might be help 🤞

Still there is room to hope and I didn't think the first years was that bad (maybe a little in the hype let down department. But the movie wasn't the worst)

29 years later?

I've recently re watched 28 weeks later, nothing can be worse than that.
