Ok guys, I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on some numbers I've "come up" with... I understand there are about 3 other people doing the same but I'd just like some feedback on what you think of my deductions. Of course, Japan, US, Canada and Aus are obvious so it's more the Europe numbers.
Wii
Japan - 3,536,875
US - 4,017,800
Europe - 2,758,626*
Australia - 138,192
Canada - 313,956
Total - 10,765,449
360
Japan - 407,346
USA - 6,196,100
Europe - 2,608,425**
Australia - 195,056
Canada - 403,500
Total - 9,810,274
PS3
Japan - 1,125,062
USA - 1,741,100
Europe - 1,485,714***
Australia - 66,503
Canada - 84,584
Total - 4,502,963
To start off, I'll say this, I've worked my Europe estimates off a theory which relies on all variables remaining constant and consoles sell their average each week so of course they will not be 100% accurate but I'm thinking it should be around about right.
*We know that Wii sales were 2,000,000 in June so 2,000,000/29(number of weeks out till June 30th)= 68,966 per week average. So 68,966x11 (weeks since 30 June)= 758,626

According to this news article, world wide sales numbers are
Wii : 9.02million
Xbox360 : 8.8million
PS3 : 3.7million
it says this is based on total numbers of Enterbrain's Japanese sale data (until August), NPD's NA Sales Data (until July) and GfK's European Sales Data (until July)
by subtracting Jap (until August) and NA (until July) sales from this number, you can know the European sales by GfK.
Enterbrain's Japanese Sales until August
Wii : 3,406,528
PS3 : 1,143,798
Xbox360 : 442,290
So... 8,800,000 - 442,290 - 5,919,400= 2,438,310 as of July. Plus 2,438,310/86 = 28,352 a week average, 28,352 x 6 = 170,112. So 2,438,310 + 170,112 = 2,608,422
***PS3 numbers are self explanatory if you've read the rest of this post. Basically, the 1,300,000 figure announced recently divided by weeks out and added to the number the appropriate times. Which should come out somewhere around, 1,485,714.
What do you think? Decent? Or am I way off?
