3D Trailers for E3 games up on 3DS eShop

Nope... deleting my eshop account, getting rid of my link with Club Nintendo and doing everything all over again didn't change anything. Still have that damn birthdate confirmation just for entering the eshop.

What a great bug do i have.

Ocarina blew my mind in 3D. I never thought it would look that good. I kept pausing the trailer to soak in each 3D image.

I thought Super Mario looked pretty ho-hum in 3D. Only really felt the depth in top-down.

I hope they add a video filing system when they release their video app.

Having 10 3D movie icons on my desktop is too cluttered.

I guess i should redownload the eshop data yeah... maybe connecting a Club Nintendo after the first use wasn't properly tested on their side.
But that's what I did and I haven't got any problem.

Hey NOE, how about putting these up so we'd become hyped enough to buy your stuff that we're not allowed to import anymore because of the 3DS being region locked? If you're going to close one avenue for gamers you have to at least pull your finger out and make the other direction nice and sugarcoated.

Is it possible to download the videos?
In Europe only DOA: Dimensions trailer seems to be available, and that's streaming only, which is pretty annoying because the connection I'm using now sucks. Would rather download and watch smoothly.

NOE are fucking horrible. You don't give something to only part of your internet audience... game releases staggered online in each region is bad enough, but for trailers and content from a live event like E3, which is followed globally... this is just bad form. They should have things like trailers day and date with the other regions.

If this is PEGIs fault by the way, then fuck PEGI.

The e3 videos on the US eShop are actually up there as apps I believe. You have to click through the whole buying process with a $0.00 price just like with Excitebike and Pokedex 3d, then it downloads it and saves it as an icon on your system menu, which you click to open the player and watch the video offline. Uninterrupted playback and I think it's probably crisper than it would be if it was streaming too.

There' a a Zelda trailer available as well...but both of those trailers have been there since the shop launched. Sadly they only have streaming trailers at present.

I'd prefer the option to download as well as then they could be higher quality.

I think I have spent more time checking the Euro eShop for the trailers than I have playing my 3DS since I bought it... :/

Thanks.

For those complaining about entering your DOB in the shop every time... have you by any chance tried to make sure the Parental Control is completely disabled?

I suppose the more people who contact them to complain..the more likely we'll get an answer.

For those who are going to do this, I just got this reply from NOE (based in Germany):

First we have to inform you that the Nintendo distributors in the different countries are the responsible contact for the consumers of their country.

For general reason please contact the following address in Great Britain:

Nintendo Service Centre
Codestorm House
Walton Road
Farlington
Hampshire
PO6 1TR
UNITED KINGDOM

Tel. 0044 870 6060 247
eMail: NintendoServiceCentre@codestorm.co.uk

Quite annoying, I'm sure they could have answered my query.

So if you're not from Germany, don't bother pestering info@nintendo.de, you'll only get that response. Go to your local distributor.

Reply from NOE (DE)

"Dear Customer,

Thank you very much for your eMail.

Your request will be dealt with or, if necessary, forwarded internally to the department responsible as soon as possible."

Bla, bla, bla...

It's not PEGI it's NoE. Last year they took an age to get the trailers on the Nintendo channel and when they did they were just the US versions lumped into one huge 20 minute video with all the ESRB ratings and a disclaimer saying 'US version footage'. NoE is just incredibly bad at this sort of thing, there is no need to have the PEGI ratings on there. Heck, most demos on the 360/PS3 still throw up the ESRB disclaimer at the beginning even if you're in a PEGI country.

I got the same email.

The problem is..codestorm in the UK won't have a clue. They'll just say "we don't know/no plans/keep checking the eshop".

...at best they'll probably end up contacting Nintendo Germany to try and find out. :-/

The Kid Icarus and the Star Fox trailers had the most awesome and intense 3D offering, I almost didn't notice it in Mario Kart or in Zelda ( still looks sick though )

Pause them in the middle of some of the mario kart moments, and switch the slider on and off. The difference is like night and day to my eyes.

Paper Mario really impressed me in 3D. I'll have to give them all another watch though, but seeing them in 3D really got me a lot more pumped up.

maybe thats why club nintendo uk are down at the moment, someone hacked them for not giving us the videos?
doubt it, but would be funny

NoE are still dreadful.

I can't believe they haven't uploaded the trailers yet. Just when you thought that they were going to try just a little bit harder with their online shit this time around...

When the EU becomes a federal state, I propose that we adopt "NoE" as the pan-european word for No.

I wouldn't be shocked if NoE have some stupid ideological objection to downloadable videos, and instead are only ever going to give us shitty compressed to hell streaming ones.

There's just nothing good to say about how Nintendo handles the 3DS these days. They've launched the eShop and (even though they've had enough time to get some content ready) did skip the first week of releases. They've had more than enough time to get these 3DS trailers ready for Europe but did not do anything.
