It is all about going to big events. I went to my GF sisters graduation yesterday and had 6 hits. Best I have had since launch.

I got an extra 200+ street passes from E3. Got all puzzle pieces and all but two hats.

I've noticed that the slider is meaningless for movies or pictures. It's simply an on/off switch. The granularity of 3D seems to only work for games.

Also, I wish the volume wasn't so low.

The slider will only work with software that's playing in realtime. A video won't work because the 3D slider effectively moves the 2 cameras closer and further apart in-game, this won't work with pre-recorded movies that have already been filmed because the cameras cant be moved. Same with CGI in games, some companies logo's and photos, the slider will simply act as an on/off switch because the distance between the cameras have already been set. Hope this makes sense :S.

And yeah, the volume is stupidly low on some videos . Maybe it's still in the process of being perfected?

Edit: Actually, it's just the DoA trailer and the Virtual Console games videos that have low volume, the zelda one seems far too loud and crackles at times and the downloadable Green Lantern video is fine to me. (EU eShop)

It won't.
Movies are made with either On or Off settings. No middle ground. It just isn't possible with current tech.

NintendoLife contacted NoE in regards to the lack of 3D E3 trailers for EU 3DS users that have been available to NA users now for a week.

With a global community such as the one here at Nintendo Life, discrepancies between regional offerings may seem severe. Such is the case now that the eShop is here, offering 3D trailers to users in North America while those in other regions languish without. We contacted Nintendo of Europe, who sought to clarify the issue.

Essentially, the European eShop will continue to offer content targeted at the region, which means you shouldn't expect to see everything available in North America replicated in Europe — and vice versa. While Nintendo couldn't confirm exactly what will be coming to the eShop, it did tell us there will be exclusive 3D trailers available shortly, with more to come.

While this likely doesn't alleviate the disappointment that Europe is still without the E3 trailers available in North America for example, there is still hope: make your voice heard below and we'll pass your comments on to Nintendo of Europe. Your opinion could make all the difference!

They think they can deny/delay content because they assume we aren't aware of the biggest gaming event of the year, just because it happens on another continent.

You would think it would be important to get these 3D trailers out there for all users as soon as possible to showcase the 3D technology of the device, the service the E-Shop is supposed to provide, and as a heads up for the up-coming games.

Nintendo Europe must be run by retards. I can understand planned disemination of material and the planned co-ordination of marketing campaigns, I really can. They want to market Kid Icarus for example, within a set time frame of Kid Icarus' launch in Europe. That's fair enough. It stands to reason that we might not see digital distribution releases at the same time as our Japanese and American cousins for this very reason...

however...

there are no major logistical costs to hosting this content on the Internet, and publishing it is simple. Gaming news travels fast, so when content is released in America, yeah, we know about it. The only time Nintendo should ever be holding back on fucking VIDEOS for christs sake, is when they have legal governance / localisation concerns. And thats at a stretch. If someone can video a trailer and put it on YouTube, we're going to see it anyway, so why not let us see them PROPERLY, and in 3D - as intended? It will help MOVE systems.

I would also argue that demos should be released within reasonable range of international releases, but they're not doing that anywhere yet so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I'm fucking disappointed. And not remotely surprised. I'll be sending in a formal complaint.

So, why do we have to download these videos when I can stream 3D trailers for stuff like Ocarina 3D without any problems? Downloading trailers seems silly... most people will probably not want to go through the hassle.
