Another year is coming to an end and the 3DS saw another year with many quality game releases. In this thread we post our top played 3DS games of the year as well as any other 3DS related analysis and impressions.

Looks like my 3DS didnt get much playtime despite having a sizeable backlog of titles to clear through. The reason is clear: most of my playtime was on PS4 this year which resulted in all my other systems getting neglected.

With the Switch coming out in a few months and the 3DS on its way out I want to make a few final observations:

1. 3DS Activity Log is great in terms of breakdowns and I hope it carries over to Switch even more improved. Wii U Activity Log sucks and its a shame it was never improved to be on par with 3DS.

2. 3DS has a lot of great RPGs. Half my 3DS backlog is RPGs. Many of these were from third parties, a trend which I hope carries over to the Switch.

3. Having owned a 3DS for 5 years now, its been a great system and Ive got many great memories with it over the years (even if I neglected it this year).

4. Fire Emblem Awakening is probably my favorite game overall on 3DS, it was my first FE and an unforgettable experience.

5. A shame we never got that Jeanne 3DS spinoff from Kamiya.

Seeing as this may very well be the last year for the 3DS in the spotlight, I encourage everyone to share not just your activity log but also your opinions and experiences with the 3DS as well. A place to reminisce about the good times, if you will.

First thing I noticed when looking at this list is that this is actually my highest playtime on record. Last year was my previous record with 317 hours, so this is a big jump up. The other thing is how much Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter I played this year. I actually played through more Dragon Quest than shown on my 3DS because I played the first 4 on my phone this year. As for Monster Hunter, I have to say that my experience this year was much better than last year. Last year I played 72 hours of MH4U and eventually came to hate the game, but this year I found a hunting buddy with a lot of experience who showed me the ropes. Once I learned how to properly play I began having a blast.

Yep. Interesting to see how low the play times are that people are posting. Under 500 hours is quite normal.

Has anyone else played Stella Glow? It's part of my backlog but I've been hesitant to start it because of some of the lewdness. Outside of that, heard the actual gameplay was solid. Curious to hear impressions.

Never played a Picross game before and this game hooked me like I never imagined. Been playing it for a few months now and still love playing before bed or whenever I have some free time. When I first saw it I thought it would be overwhelming, but they have a great tutorial that takes you through everything you need to know. Once you know the rules it's pretty straight forward and you really feel yourself getting better and being able to recognize solutions quicker, which is just satisfying.

Easily one of my top 3 games of the year.

It's a great SRPG. There really isn't much lewdness at all, don't know where you heard that. Maybe with some of the character designs but there aren't any fanservice images or CGs or anything like that, and the dialogue is relatively tame when it comes to those sorts of things. I mean the tuning is a little...suggestive but you only ever see sillhoettes of characters. I would recommend it.
