428: Shibuya Scramble coming to PS4/PC in spring 2018

OP should add some screens from the game? It's a live action VN. Nothing else like it.

Actually Chunsoft has used photo stills for their sound novels ever since the PS1. Some of the sound novel clones on SNES also already had digitized photos. Sound novels always leaned towards realistic presentation, as opposed to the anime style usually employed in visual novels on PC.

I've been curious about this game since it got a 40/40 on Famitsu, I had given hope of ever being able to play it. Very happy about this news.

how is the Twitter poll bullshit. If a game had more votes, it had more votes. There's no need to wish the worst on other people's game

Eh, his disdain isn't hard to understand in this case. Shibuya is a very special, one of a kind game that reviewd insanely well - yet it lost to what most consider a generic otome game.

Oh, yes. Since it's hitting PS4 and Steam (only?) I hope they can make it 4K. Guess it depends on if they have the stills and video to do so, but it seems like a "might as well" situation since it's not a demanding game and it's the one clear benefit they can provide.

This is amazing news. The Japanese gaming presence has been so strong on PC of late - so happy we'll get to experience this too in the West!

Mixed feelings. Very happy this is coming across; no Vita version is a bummer as I have no interest in playing a VN on a PS4 or desktop.

I suppose I'll get the PS4 version and remote play it like I'll be doing with Silver Case as well.

On the plus side, it's finally happening, I can't wait to see how good it is.

Nice to see they didn't just dangle a bunch of nice sounding games in front of our noses. 2018 feels so far away.

Still a shitty attitude to have.

Hopefully that still gets localized, so everyone can be happy. (My god, it was so hard to say something positive instead of wishing ill on a game because of poll results I didn't like)

I never thought this day would come. I am so happy.

Neither the 3DS or Vita will be viable platforms for an international release in 2018. Maybe they'll do a mobile version though.
Looks like an iOS version was released quite a while back. I wonder if they will bring an updated version internationally to iOS and Android.

This is fucking excellent news. Finally another VN game I'm looking forward to.

Tfw finding out Twilight Syndrome is a real game

Written and directed by Suda51 when he used to work at Human Entertainment (Clock Tower devs). We need that game so bad too. Hope that tease about Twilight Syndrome comes true.

Fucking amazing. Was really hoping we'd get it eventually, but it's also been years since I started thinking we had a chance.

That's a long wait but I'll have time to finish other VNs in the meantime, so I can stand it.

Oh wow, I've been curious about this ever since that 40/40 Famitsu review. Nice to see it is coming out in English!

I love that we're living in a time where even VN's and otome games get regular localizations.
but we still have to worry about DQ games :(

Did I mention the music?

The music is great.

Also, a review of the OST:

http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/428/
Japanese Academy Award winning composer Naoki Sato and video game composer veteran Hideki Sakamoto headline most of the composition of 428's music, with contributions from Shingo Yasumoto and Aya Kamiki. Seamless in their cooperation, Sato and Sakamoto create a soundtrack most gamers aren't accustomed to hearing. More similar to anime or film, most of the pieces, whether dramatic or melancholy, suitably evoke more of a "storytelling" mood; naturally, the game could be best classified as a graphic adventure. Incidentally, much of Sato's experience lies in anime and film.

428's main theme introduces the game with a heavy dose of adrenaline. For those with some popular anime under their belt, this theme holds a striking similarity to the jazzy, horn-infused opening to Cowboy Bebop – Tank. Both pieces communicate that the tale that follows bears an action-packed, intense trial for the protagonist to overcome, and what better way to start the soundtrack? Oh, and did I mention 428's theme has bells in it?

...

Sato and Sakamoto must have had a long sit while planning this soundtrack, and decided that the possibilities were truly endless. Whether jamming on an organ, banging on unorthodox percussion, or strumming up some psychedelic rock, they have it all. The awe-inspiring feat? With over 70 tracks of about two minute long pieces, it all sounds good. What a daunting task this must have been! If 428's story is anything like its soundtrack, then I have one question: why was this not released outside of Japan?

Thinking about going blind into this one. I've heard a lot of praise for it, and if I have the money for it, I see no reason not to snag it on Steam.

Also, if any of you are familiar with the anime Canaan, it's connected to the story of 428, set a couple years afterwards.
