Yeah, I hate when you are expecting something delivered and it is late. Sometimes not receiving a reagent can mean quite some wasted work tim......

.....Kindle cover?

lmao, you'll live...

Bloody hell GAF, you're being a bit harsh on him. I get annoyed about packages regularly thanks to the amount of awful companies in the UK. I was waiting for my new phone and I knew it was going from the worst - HDNL/Yodel - a company that hires random people who own a car or van to deliver packages [So hey, guess technically anyone CAN do that job]. We've had huge problems in the past of our stuff either being nicked or coming bashed as fuck.

So my phone went out for delivery at about 8:30am and by 8pm nothing. After hardcore searching, thanks to their site being a load of wank, I phoned the depot and was assured that after they talked to the driver it'd be here within half an hour. At 9:30 I phoned again, this time assured it would be within 15 minutes. At 10:20 in the evening, a dodgy looking van careens onto my driveway and delivers it. There is no way he would've delivered it if I hadnt phoned up and complained, seeing how they're supposed to stop operations at 7:30 according to their site.

Why are you talking about a phone company? Globally it's shit. We all know this.

Im more surprised that I mentioned that I ordered $200 worth of anime and nobody mocked it.
Judgemental gaf, you're slipping!

So you want people to respond negatively?

I was actually joking but I did honestly expect someone to say something given how this thread was going.
It doesnt bother me though.
Cuteness is life.

Yodel used to be HDNL (they used to be part of DHL but DHL sold them off because its unprofitable; a Yodel driver is paid 60p to deliver an Amazon package...). Given the volume of consumer complaints they decided to rename themselves to hide the shame.

They chose the name of an existing company to deflect the blame. Indeed I think one gaffer works for the phone company and gets people ringing up about their packages.

Hate to be that guy but Yodel has been okay so far. Then again I'm in a goldmine location (University campus) so its easy to score a lot of deliveries for comparatively little work. I'm sure when it goes wrong it'll be on just what I want it not to go wrong on. Its the Amazon Prime customers I feel for as much as anything. You're paying £49 a year for what can be slower than super saver at times...I think it even made Amazon withdraw their next-day guarantee.

Its rather odd given so many companies ceasing to use them that Morrisons are going to step into online by selling wine, delivered by yodel...

I don't even have my packages delivered anymore I just use the pickup at FedEx store option and just swing by onmy way home from work because the have specific trucks for that and also because I'm wayyyy more of an asshole than the op is.

Worst company I've had try to deliver for me is Hermes.

Ordered a coat from UrbanOutfitters. Assholes never even tried to deliver and the coat was returned to sender.

They don't even have a number you can phone on their website or a location where you can pick up your parcel.

The best service in the UK is Royal Mail's Special Delivery, and tracked service. They get given so much priority internally.

Parcelforce are probably my favourite courier, as they drop off missed items at my local post office (end of my street). DPD are also cool as fuck with the 1 hour estimated delivery window.

Worst company I've had try to deliver for me is Hermes.

Hermes and Yodel tend to be "lifestyle couriers" now. Annoying as fuck, undermining the proper industry by getting mugs to deliver in their owns cars, using their own phones, own houses for storage etc.

Oh boy, do I have some package delivery stories to tell!

I've given up on same-day/next-day deliveries from Amazon (UK here) as they always end up taking longer to arrive then the free-delivery option (which goes through the royal mail).
For some inexplicable reason, Amazon UK always hires these shady delivery companies that enlist private couriers that are never on time. We're talking about dudes who're driving around in their rusty old Fords, packages piled up in the back and front seat, who end up trying to pass off the package as quickly as possible when they do show up (weeks after the paid for one-day delivery).

Another time, those buggers claimed multiple times to have "attempted to deliver the package" on a day that I had taken off just for the sake of waiting for them deceiving cuntwankers. I was standing right in front of my door as I saw the package status update to "attempted delivery at 18.05PM" - and I had been staring at the doors for half an hour! I of course contacted Amazon immediately, who apologized on their behalf profusely, but I wasn't going to have any of that and told them that I wanted my order cancelled and would refuse the item even if they managed to deliver it on-time the following day.

Fuck YODEL, HDNL, and the rest of those scummy delivery companies!
At least I can rely on the Queen's good ol' mailmen and mailwomen.
