I don't want "AI" in my shooters.

"Uncharted" and "awesomeness" are practically synonyms thanks to Naughty Dog.
Is this the same naughty dog that said "there is nothing that can be done on the dreamcast that can't be done on the playstation 1" :D

The zombies in RE4 are more fun to combat than the pirates in Uncharted. I guess every enemy has an "AI" of sorts, but you know what I mean.

... You have a preference for uniform and repetitive encounters then? I can see why RE is more do your liking then

Oh wow, RE4 hate. That's a new one. I thought it was like Paul Rudd; impossible to hate.

Just saying zombies are boring...RE4 is good for PS2, but when you see the same AI in RE5. My word, it's shockingly bad.

That's because in RE5 they aren't placed in such a good way anymore. But yeah when RE4 is "boring", you just know what's going on :lol

Didn't find those in RE4.

Regarding stealth. It's a very nice addition, but it didn't look like you could complete the level without being spotted. That would be cool if possible though.

My max of stealth(y) kills in a row was 3 in Uncharted. And that was only possible for me in ONE position and the third kill set off the other guards. I want more than one place where I can farm the stealth kill medal.

And now on to the media blackout :/

Not really related to the awesome video, but I've subscribed to qore before may 15, shouldn't I have received a Unchrated beta key by now? Where should I complain if so?

Yeah, I subscribed on the 14th. I'll wait a little while before I email to Sony.

I just hope Uncharted 2 is more integrated than Uncharted 1. My main problem with Uncharted 1 was the isolated nature of the gameplay systems. Puzzle time... story scene... shooting scene. I hope it's more cohesive, where you don't 'know' that it's 'shooting time'. Or you have to shoot some enemeis while attempting to solve some puzzle. It took out a lot of the suspense in some of the darker areas because no enemy would ever really 'surprise' you. I'd like there to be isolated encounters. You are walking down a dark corridor and an enemy jumps out at you from nowhere. Other than that, I found it enjoyable.

That's what I really liked about the leaked gameplay vid a while back. There was a gun fight going on in the middle of the street, and then without much prompting it was left up to the player to find the correct route up the debris through a nice little platforming section. I'm hoping the rest of the game plays similarly to that video.

I hated on RE4 since day 1...but enjoyed RE5 reasonably...may give it a shot again at some point...but I was very underwhelmed with the first 15 minutes or so when I played...haven't touched it since.... I've played most of the Re games but never been much of a fan though

Wow, I couldn't even imagine that any reaction at all in the history of forum posting would reach this level of idiocy.

Ha, I came in here to say how impressed I was with the 5 minute trailer and I see the thread has now become a RE4 vs Uncharted debate. I guess to stay on topic I'll say, I love RE4, my favorite game of last generation, and as impossible as it may seem I also love Uncharted and I think Uncharted 2 looks great.

Just saw this...

We didn't know it at the time folks. We were excited by the prospect of MGSes, GT5s God of wars etc.

But this is the reason right here. The reason you bought a PS3.

Fucking ace.

I believe that is supposed to be a key area of focus for this game.

I am going to buy Uncharted for the third (and final) time sometime tomorrow. Hopefully I can stomach the controls and finally get myself to beat this game. I want to like it so much. I know everything about is awesome, but the fucking cover system and shooting just feels so broken to me. What's wrong with me GAF?

inb4 I suck at the game (I've play plenty of shooters without any issues at all)

If you play shooters... then Uncharted controls are pretty standard. Not like the game does anything too out of the ordinary.

And hell... often, you don't even have to aim. If you're anywhere near someone, just hold down the trigger and Drake automatically sprays them with hip fire. You can even be running away and he'll auto target. Takes more bullets, but gets the job done (and will be indispensable in later levels)

Sorry dude, I think you just suck. :/

It took me three goes to 'get' the game, now I love it. It felt off to me when I first played it, but it came together eventually. It's a slower pace than most shooters, but still more of a shooter than a platformer. The gunplay did feel off initially, but now it feel fine, don't know why.

I still have a few issues with it but have just finished my 2nd playthrough. Very much looking forward to 2.

I had no problem killing enemies and progressing through the game. It's just the controls and cover mechanics felt sluggish and delayed, and at times, unresponsive. In regards to going in and out of cover and shooting, Uncharted 2 LOOKS like it's much smoother and Drake's reactions, more on point.

I agree the cover system was a little wonky at times.

Wasn't GT5P even worse then that? Ie. one language per-SKU.

But yea I'll be pissed if Asian release of Infamous omits English for some stupid reason too.

Can you sneak around and take your enemies out like in Metal Gear or Splinter Cell?

Because that would be cool.
Like what was shown in the video? Not sure if you could complete the whole game like that, but there are definitely sections to do so (as shown.)

Yes. Like in the video. That would be really cool. Gives you multiple options on approaching a situation.

Well yes - that approach will be scattered throughout the whole game. It's up to you not to be seen. you'll see that Drake has a different stance when he hasn't been spotted, meaning you can carry out stealth kills. He even shows he's trying to be quiet in his facial expressions. Very impressive IMO.

Got back from buying Uncharted 1 (only $29.95 after tax). No turning back. It stays in my collection for good. I'm finally going to finish this fucker.

Should've never left but welcome back aboard. I resumed my play through yesterday at the
Customs House (or the scene where you see the heli fly over the broken building.

Now I know why people love this game. So much fun. Too bad I can't wall bounce and blow people to bits with a shotty :(

I originally wrote off the first uncharted as a good game, nothing amazing.

I was wrong though. About 2 months ago I replayed it on casual to get some easy trophies. I fell in love with the game. I then beat it on hard and liked it even more.
I then went back and beat it all on crushing and it was surprisingly easy.

I beat the game 4 times. :D
3 times in 3 days :lol

HELL , Uncharted still not budget title /greatest hit in NA ?

WTF SCEA ? WTF ?

After being three weeks off on a vacation, this video was a nice come back surprise. As a huge fan of the first game, all I can say is it's pretty amazing, and just what I was hoping to see! More environmental and character interaction during gameplay, even better animation and graphics, more funny comments from Drake, more stuff that enemies can do, as well as more stuff that you can do. Looks like this time around they incorporated the whole cinematic thing into the game better than just about anything else I can think of. I literally didn't even know at times where the cutscene ended and gameplay control began, or if some sequences were cutscenes to begin with. From the looks of it, they give you a lot of control almost all the time - which makes the fact this looks so much like a movie that much more impressive.

Also, neat that they seem to have switched to fully realtime cutscenes (some shadow aliasing during cutscene may be a hint towards that). This way they can truly blend a scene from scripted to non scripted at any moment.

That's the reason I've held off on buying it this whole time. I always feel like a price cut is just around the corner.

Hope you can pass this message to whoever is responsible for this.

Fingers crossed, as the current plan is to create one disc with all localizations on it, so you should be fine.

so any guesses from you on why this happened to European infamous ?

Having different versions is fine, but any disc should at least also include English. That inFAMOUS thing is pure madness.

Downloaded the jesusBlimblim vid, and watched it my ps3, WOW. I'm not really a hardcore Uncharted 1 fan, it was a great game, with some things I hated! The video looked fucking insane though, loved the animation and the stealth elements!

Huh, that's weird.

I found Uncharted to be far more 'responsive' than Gears of War.
