Skunny Kart (everybody played Wacky Wheels though...)

Oh, the Skunny games... "CopySoft" indeed, every single one of those games was a blatant ripoff... in this case, of Wacky Wheels. Of course Wacky Wheels was a Mario Kart clone (and a great one), but Skunny somehow ended up looking ... well, a lot less original. Decent game, but Wacky Wheels was better.

BioMenace, Jill of the Jungle, and Hocus Pocus were good too. Not the best of their kind probably (Duke Nukem 1 and 2, Keen, Cosmo, etc.), but good...

I also should second Future Cop LAPD (though I had the PC version, it's the same as the PSX version -- including the awesome split-screen multiplayer). Scorcher too -- that was a pretty good game... hard, though!

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention Netstorm again.

Technic Beat

Awesome rythm game by Arika, released in the US by Mastiff. Contains 85 songs including 30 remixes of classic Namco games like Splatter House, Pacmania, Bravoman and Sky Kid.

Dragon Buster

RoboWarrior

Maybe the epitome of weird games. You had to sidescroll in a maze to find an exit. If you didn't, the lights went out and the screen became black. Still, it had some charm and I liked it.

This game was actually the first "real" sequel of Bomberman by Hudson, which tried to mix up and add new elements to the formula; it was imho a good start, even if flawed (too slow pacing, batteries thing, NO PASSWORD making it almost unfinishable), too bad later Bombermans were all the same...

Sports Jam (Dreamcast)

The "near pin contest" minigame alone is worth it. It probably sucks in SP, but with friends (and beer) it's a great party game.

all 5 games made for the SuperGrafx, in the order of their release

1. Battle Ace
2. Granzort
3. Ghouls 'n Ghosts
4. Aldynes
5. 1941 Counter Attack

while 3 and 5 are not obscure games on other platforms, they are on SuperGrafx since the system itself was obscure.

obscure games, awesome!

How was this game? I remember seeing it a while back and of course the Alundra comparisons made it look interesting... but I don't think I've ever heard anybody talk about it.

Landstalker
Rocket Knight Adventures
Threads of Fate
Rival Schools
Zombies Ate my Neighbors

Edit: Gyah! How could i forget the Quest for Glory series. I used to begin every summer by marathoning those games in order. My thief owned by the end of five.

Whole not obscure imo, starfox was awesome

Starfox ( SNES )

Also, surprised no one mentioned Snatcher for sega cd yet. While i havent played it yet =( a bunch of people i know did and all talk of its awesomeness

What an awesome thread. I didn't see it mentioned before but one of my favorite action games of all time was Cybernator for the SNES. I played the HELL out of this game.

Cybernator was SO good, but the last levels were SO SO hard :(

Me and my friends used to play this all the time. I lent it out once and the guy then lent it to someone else who moved out of the country with it :(

This game would be perfect for a DS remake, if it don't happen, i'm doing it myself. One of the best GB games ever.

Decent is the right word for it.
Insane amount of imagination & art was put into the design, but the everything else so so mediocre.
Tiny overworld/town, poorly designed dungeons & pretty much no polish.

Definitely no Alundra

Shogo mad was great for what I played of it, stupidly back then when I owned it my pc would not run it but my friends machine would, dispite being the same stats. That was also at a time where I did not know as much about how pc's run, lost the game years ago :(

They should make a new one.

I looked up Outfoxies and it's fucking great. It's Elevator Action Returns meets Powerstone meets Dead Rising. It's that good.

Galactic Attack (aka RayForce, Layer Section, Gunlock)

The most generic sounding name ever, but a good shooter nonetheless. At first I thought, "Acclaim lol," but then I figured out that Acclaim only published it, (along with what seems like a large chunk of non-Sega games on the Saturn, no wonder they're dead).

1. Azure Dreams

2. Lunar Silver Star Story

3. PoPoLoCrois Monogatari

this looks extremly good for a first generation ps2 game. Unfortunatly i never played this one.

Along with Silent Hill 2 and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Shadow of Memories has one of the best stories ever conceived in a video game.

The development team of Shadow of Memories included some members of the original Silent Hill team, ie. Gozo Kitao was a producer in both of them.

Talking about the game, gave me an urge to play the game through for the third time. :D

In no particular order:
-Project Justice
-Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
-Saturday Night Slam Masters
-The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang
-Super Spike V'Ball
