I'd be willing to bet anything that a majority of the people in the chat exclaiming "This game is soooooooo bad" don't even have any idea why they're saying it.

Not sure about everyone else but the reason why that scene pisses me off is because it's a giant middle finger to the entire Snake and Meryl's development and buildup in MGS1. It may seem minor but somethings are just not easy to get over with. The dialogue is still tolerable.

I do understand that, and it does suck in that regard but Snake has been shown across the entirety of this game to be dying so Meryl ending up with Snake would have only been for a little less than a year, if that. Not a very happy ending if you ask me.

Seriously, though, the fight choreography and camerawork in the proper Metal Gear series is sublime. Compare this to the slow-mo, wire-fu, no sense of spacial awareness or flow or continuity trash in The Twin Snakes.

It won't be a happy ending but Meryl could at least be with Snake for the little time that he has left. Snake could at least die happily in peace with someone who did care about him instead of alone.
Meryl could've married Johnny later.

It's just one of the few things I can't let go I guess lol. Eitherway the Liquid and Snake fight somewhat makes up for that scene.
