THE POWER OF BUTTERSCOTCH BOTTOMS
Seems fine, if you're satisfied it's probably ready. Will need you in IRC for the implementation step.
It works well enough. The dark theme isn't too dark for me.

not to mention trying to edit or copy a long post. Probably my biggest gripe about the old website. Is there a reason the input field for posts is still so small? It makes writing long posts a chore.
You probably have javascript turned off? If not, I need to know browser, device, etc.
Dark theme on retina looks tasty, I almost can lick gaf.
I like this.Hey Chkoler, great work on the site.
But witht he new communities thingy it gets awfullyng cramped with all the lists. So as a really basic mock up, maybe instead of this

Again not hating on your work! Just a suggestion![]()
I'm kinda against it. I don't like the way it looks.I like this.
No way. Reduced the clickable area for the forums. If we had 100 forums, then sure, saving that space makes sense. Here it only is for aesthetics and it sacrifices usability.I like this.
Probably been asked, but will be able to pay to disable the ads?

Adding stuff like that, might bloat up the ui, if you "had to" style the sub forums in a subtle way, could do something like this (tree navigation)

That's perfect. Just an indention like that to give indication of its association while at the same time not minimizing its hit detection by making it so small/obscure.Adding stuff like that, might bloat up the ui, if you "had to" style the sub forums in a subtle way, could do something like this (tree navigation)

Ah, thats nicer.
Are you the same Timan I know from some other Neo site?
Oooooh that's much easier on the eyes than just 4 forumsAdding stuff like that, might bloat up the ui, if you "had to" style the sub forums in a subtle way, could do something like this (tree navigation)

This is www.secondapps.com/mockup at the moment.can i use this on my droid ? im kinda confused i can get to the secondapps site fine i just dont have the update for the site
You can get to it and use it on virtually any mobile device, just go to this link; http://www.secondapps.com/mockup/ Eventually it will become integrated into the default 'neogaf.com' domain so you won't have to worry about specific url's (at least that's the plan).can i use this on my droid ? im kinda confused i can get to the secondapps site fine i just dont have the update for the site
Not sure what you mean, since the ad in place now is just a place holder. Are there no "retina"-resolution ads via AdSense? Surprising if so.The ads wouldn't bother me if they didn't look so pixelated on mobile devices.
Nothing we can do about that, though, until AdSense ups its game.
And...I feel like an idiot. Not sure what you mean, since the ad in place now is just a place holder. Are there no "retina"-resolution ads via AdSense? Surprising if so.
Fantastic! I can't join you guys on IRC tonight but I'll try tomorrow after work.Seems fine, if you're satisfied it's probably ready. Will need you in IRC for the implementation step.
Another great idea. It should be easy to add to my global displayList function.Adding stuff like that, might bloat up the ui, if you "had to" style the sub forums in a subtle way, could do something like this (tree navigation)

Any idea why this is?
The old version had, IIRC, no device sniffing of any kind; the mockup has some specific library in place to determine what is and is not a mobile device. There'll probably have to be a discussion between EL, the sysadmins, etc. about what exactly constitutes a "mobile" and a "tablet" device for GAF purposes and what we'll use to detect them before the final version goes live, but I'll make a note to bring up the Kindle specifically.
This is weird, but it looks like one of the recent updates broke the compatibility with the Dolphin browser on iOS. Every time I want to change pages in a thread or hit the refresh button, I always get "No valid thread ID provided. Back To Whence You Came". Even the quote and edit buttons are gone. And yes, I cleared the cache and every other data, I even reinstalled the browser.
You can still skip to the end of the page by tapping the header up top.I've been playing around with the mockup. Only thing I really miss is the "end" arrow that would bring you down to the last post. Other than that, it's fantastic. Biggest pet peeve before is I was unable to post text properly using landscape mode on my Android phone.
You can configure the arrow to do that in Preferences panel in the menu. It defaults to last unread post but you can swap it todo last page.I've been playing around with the mockup.
