Love this thing, especially on my Xoom while holding it vertically. Almost a joy to use.

I'm sure it's been answered but is there a way to subscribe to threads without posting in them?

Not sure if this complaint has been voiced yet, but it kills me each time I press the gaflogo/back button and expect it to go back to subscribed threads instead of the forum the thread is in. I'm not sure why this happens, but I really expect it to take me back to subscriptions. Am I just being weird or do others run into this. It's very frustrating to me.

You're not alone with this one. I stopped using the button because I have the subscriptions as my bookmark anyway, so it doesn't really bother me that much.

Not everyone uses subscriptions, so I can see why it makes sense to go back to the appropriate forum. I rarely use subs so for me its not a problem.

Right but theoretically if you didn't use subscriptions then the arrow wouldn't point you there..

That makes no sense.
He's saying that he wants the button to function more like a regular back button, so if you arrived at a topic from your subscriptions list it would take you back there, otherwise it would take you up to the forum. So if you don't use subscriptions the button would never take you to the subscribed threads page.

I think it's fine the way it is. The other way it will be disorienting if you return to a page you left open in the browser. Better to keep it consistent.

Ahh I see, so if you got to a thread from the subscriptions page, that button should send you back up to the subs page from which you came.. I was understanding it differently.

I think it's fine as-is, you could always use the back button for something like that, but I can see how that'd be an annoyance for people who heavily rely on the subscriptions feature.

It would be great if the "last page" button was also still located at the top like on the original seconapps page. I hate having to scroll down to the bottom if for some reason I need to skip to the end(especially with 100 posts per page!). Also if there was a a way to jump to all the different sections on the bottom of the page, that would be great too.

Regardless, all of this stuff is awesome and has provided me countless hours of gaf browsing!!

/agree

Am I the only one having issues with it refreshing? If I go to a new tab in my browser or bring up a new app? If I bring up a different app while I'm typing up a reply I have to rewrite everything I wrote. If I'm reading a thread and go to a different app or a different tab and come back and goes to a different post then the one I was reading.

Am I missing something or is it not possible to jump to the bottom of a page anymore in the mockup? I used that function all the time in the old version.

Ok, I was sort of debating whether to post this or not, because its such a small thing.
I really like the new web apps. It's great - much better than the original (Which was already quite good). One thing I noticed is that in the thread list, the color scheme is a nice light great and white. When you jump into a thread, the colour is a dark grey (For the user information that goes before each post) and white. I just found that a bit jarring. I think the light grey would look much better in the threads. Anyways, I'm sure some people will disagree, but those are my 2 cents.

Just really tried out the mockup for the first time today and it's actually real great. Better than when I skimmed through it some weeks ago. It's now bookmarked on my iOS devices.

It's done that way to match the main site.

This is incredible! Cheers to whoever bumped this thread, I had no idea about this. I reckon the title should be changed to reflect the fact it works fine on Android too. I almost didn't click on the thread, but thought I'd peek in to see if there was an Android version mentioned in the OP.

Loved the old version. New version looks great but there definitely need to be a quicker way to get to the last page. The last page button at the top of the page was great.

Any chance that the "last page" button be moved to the top of the thread, rather than the bottom? Otherwise, have to scroll through the entire first page of the thread to get to the last page? Thank you.

click the blue bar on top to scroll immediately to bottom (you still have to wait for page to load though :S)

I'm going to leave it off for bow and see what (if anything) happens.
Might as well bring this up again to sort of prove my point. This is from the last page alone;

I hate having to scroll down to the bottom if for some reason I need to skip to the end (especially with 100 posts per page!).
Just tap the blue header and it'll jump you down without having to scroll.
Wow thats awesome! I didnt even know, thanks a lot!

tap the main blue bar at top. same goes for the bottom blue bar to jump to the top.

Thanks, man!

I rest my case?

doesnt matter, some would still rather have it on top. less clicks
There's no space, 99% sure it won't happen, nor does it seem feasible. If you wanted to go to the last page from the get-go, set your board-view arrow icon to take you to the last page rather than the last unread post.

So...someone went out of their way to make a kick ass free web app for easy browsing and you're complaining about "less clicks"? Seriously, tweak a preference or two and browsing is super easy. You're talking about saving maybe fractions of a second.

First world problems much?

I've been using this for maybe two months now? Whenever I posted ITT is when I started.
I don't even browse GAF on my computer anymore.
I'm out of work at the moment and my mornings used to consist of sitting in front of my computer on GAF until time to feed my daughter. I realized recently that since discovering this app, I don't really get on my computer at all anymore, except to maybe grab some new music or browse job openings.

I absolutely love browsing GAF on this.

Any possibility of setting an option so clicking on the thread > button acts like a last page click (aka how it works now) instead of a jump to last unread post?

I used it some months ago as well, but I didn't like it back then. I do now. I just repeated myself.

Go to your 'Preferences' and change it there.

Clear you cache? That's weird.

On a WP7 here, I don't know if that makes a difference. I cleared the cookies and deleted internet history logged out logged back in and it still just goes to the top of the last page. Is it supposed to go to the specific post that I haven't read yet? If this doesn't work for me I'll just change preference to last page so I at least FEEL like its working right.

Edit: Forgot to mention how I love the neogaf tile for windows phone great job!

edit 2: borrowing an android right now and it works properly so it must be a Windows phone thing :(

Are you talking about the blue bar in-thread, the arrow on the thread list view, or the actual 'last page' at the bottom button in-thread?

Any chance we can get the icon working for bookmarks in Opera mobile on Android? My most frequented Page is currently my ugliest in my menu. :(
