Maybe because every Subway is a franchise and can tweek the prices as they see fit? I hate how so many of them have uped the price to make it a meal, they want like $3 when I can still find a few that will charge me only $1.50 and let me get my Ham and Turkey Sub for $5.

Saddly I don't remember which one that was, most likely 50 miles away anyhow :/

yeah, was thinking he got a combo, but even still, didn't think it'd push it up to 8, unless he also ordered a non-5 dollar sub to begin with.

End this silly burger competition...this place serves burgers, fries (made in pure lard) with non filtered cigarettes and jolt cola...plus they have 'nurses' take care of you.

How does this place make money? Their slogan might as well be "We are going to sell things that kill you, but instead of being coy about it like big tobacco, we just flat out tell you so". It's practically euthanasia for fat people...

I actually think this is four patties, not three (would make sense- two on each side of the footlong). Let me tell you- that's alot of meat and bread to be consuming all at once. I usually get a 2x4 at In and Out (two meat, 4 cheese). Well, something got mixed up last time and they did give me a 2x4 but it was 4 meats and 2 cheese. Let me just say, eating all that meat at once was BRUTAL!. I would rather have more cheese than meat on a burger/sandwich any day. I'm not going to let that happen again. I can't imagine what consuming this must feel like after enduring that bad experience.

Don't you also have to sign a form stating that you won't sue them if you die (or something like that)?

It's probably because I just finished lunch, but all of this looks utterly disgusting. I'm sure that tune will change around dinner time though...

No. I skipped lunch and I am starving, but still wouldn't go near "that", even if givien to me for free.

I see you've never had Wendy's Triple Baconator. I can put away a lot of food , but after the Triple Baconator you wont have any room left for fries.

But anyway back to this new gimmick from Carl Jr's. I agree with the others in this thread that this is a step back from the innovation brought to us by the KFC Double Down. I was hoping that more businesses would follow KFC's lead and get rid of the bread on their burgers, but so far it isn't happening. It's like they don't understand what makes the Double Down so special. It's not the fat content or the calories, it's the lack of bread. This is the future of fast food. More and more food that uses meat as the outside layers instead of bread.

The Double Down was innovative. This is...stupid. I don't see the difference between eating this and eating 3 cheeseburgers in a row.
This!!
This even worse then the French toast thing.
At least that one went over the top.

This is not a challenger to the double down. It is a disgrace.

As long as it is just "more of the same" it isn't right. Maybe when they remove the bread and replace it with a half an onion or something else that it will be worthy as a challenger.

What about lettuce instead of buns? That's been done for years.

And, yes, Carl Jr's chicken strips especially are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TASTY they would be heavenly as buns to a burger. DO WANT!

Best part is fat people eat free...if you are over 350lbs.

Oh damn dude I love a lettuce bun. Soooo much better than bread. Not so easy to do at home though because I have trouble finding lettuce with enough good big pieces to use.

Wtf, why not just order a steak stromboli?

ITT: Ways to die with food.

"2 pizza buns" == "2 buns that are pizzas".
"2 pizza buns" != "2 pizza crusts", because pizza crusts can not be referred to as "buns".

Fixed. If you're going to use equivalence operators, get it right!

Me and my brother will be trying this out as soon as I visit my parents again :lol

Does anyone have the pic of the grilled cheese featured on Man vs. Food recently? Now THAT was impressive.

was it more impressive than
tumblr_l0w9haDEEr1qzvnxpo1_r1_500.jpg

"Our monster grilled cheese featuring 13 different cheeses, 3 slices of grilled bread and a pile of hand-cut fries & slaw. Over 5lbs of food!!"

That actually might be it. Good find.:lol

Call me when the McGangbang is an on-menu item. That's when we'll know Idiocracy has hit.

By the way, did you guys know that the Double Down is only 540 calories? Sure it's got a ton of fat and sodium, but that's actually a pretty modest calorie count. You can easily have what you think is a healthy salad with more. Also hilarious that there is a grilled Double Down. In case you're watching your figure.

Yep, I believe that was the one on MvF and it looks like a tantric orgasm in food form.

BTW...this is KFC's next sandwich after the Double Down. Apparently, THEY even took a step back from innovation. Does anyone know why? Was the double down so bad? This comes out in July (supposedly already came out)...anyone try it yet?

KFC: New “Doublicious” Sandwich Debuts July 5th

KFC-Doublicious.jpg

KFC announced that it would be dropping another sandwich as a sequel to their amazingly viral KFC Double Down via an e-mail to its fans. While it definitely doesn’t push as many limits that their Double Down did, this new sandwich looks rather promising as well! It will be called the Doublicious, and it will come in two iterations, both of which include chicken on a Hawaiian Bread bun in hopes of achieving a one-of-a-kind “sweet and savory taste”. The Original Recipe Doublicious sandwich is noted to include an Original Recipe filet with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and Colonel Sauce. The Grilled Doublicious version comes with a grilled chicken filet topped wth Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce and honey mustard BBQ sauce. Sounds worth a try, what do you guys think? Come July 5th, we’ll all have our chance.

WTF went wrong KFC!!!???

The Doublicious would be better if it didn't have that stupid arbys cheese topping in it.

Double Down or nothing KFC, even your extra crispy chicken strips are BLAND. Everything is except the delicious Double Down

This thread is making me hungry.

It's not equivalence, it's equality.
Nor is it code.

And I just saw on CNN that the Double Down sales were super shitty, despite everyone talking about it. So there's the reasoning for the Doublicious or whatever they're calling it. (Yeah, it's out - I got KFC on Monday and they had signs for it.)

While on a business trip, my boss and I had an epiphany. We were sitting in an Arby's looking across the street at a Wendy's and a KFC. A little further down was a Long John Silver's. Order the double down from KFC, throw a Wendy's burger patty in the middle and then grab some of Arby's roast beef and pile that inside then march your happy ass down to LJS and deep fry that shit to a golden brown.
