A new Matrix game when?

they tried reviving the franchise with 4 and it was so bad that everyone forgot it exists.

At this point the franchise is as good as dead

I wouldn't mind a new game with the destruction similar to The Finals especially for the bank scene.

With today's graphics you could definitely make a really good.

This was always one of the mindblowing things to me that WB Games never tried doing anything substantial with games based on Matrix. This seems like something that is literally tailor-made for Monolith with tons of potential for incorporating their Nemesis system into this setting

Organize Black Cat GIF by Industrial Workers of the World

So that Unreal Matrix demo was just that, a demo with 0 intent of turning it into a full-fledged title..?

I refuse to answer people who can't ask properly

Adding when at the end like that would you ask someone in public that or a girlfriend

Sex when?
add a bitch at end of that while ya at it FFS lol

When will we see a new matrix game
Sounds better don't it

they did? Shiny Entertainment did two SP games, and Monolith did the online game. None was a success.

I actually liked Enter The Matrix and Path of Neo. Both were certainly not great, kinda like Strangehold wasn't either, but the systems with todays more powerful hw could work great. Unreal even did the groundwork with that city and character scans in their engine demo. Warner would just need to trust that the IP could work even though the last movie did not well.

I even believe Matrix 2+3 have better scripts than the mind boggingly stupid shite that happens in the John Wick sequels' plots. I have no idea why people can't appreciate the action those offered while JW's BS is overlooked, just because its action scenes are admittedly even more stylish and better. Certainly entire different IP, just sharing Keanu, but the very different response seems just weird to me.

Wasn't Atari a publisher of Enter the Matrix and Path of Neo?

You're right about the online game though, I completely forgot about it

Lana did it on purpose. The whole movie is littered with jabs to execs who demanded another Matrix movie.
She made it so it would bomb like nothing else. Massive inconsistencies and plot holes which contradict with the previous movies etc. All just to raise a finger to Hollywood.

It was always meant as a trilogy. But WB wanted another cashcow and Lana killed that possibility on purpose. She did good.

Reminds me of Indiana Jones. Brilliant legacy and then the recent cash grab movies ruins peoples memories of it.

Not sure how many people would be still interested in a new Matrix anything, game or otherwise. Could be wrong though.. and would be cool too see.

I wonder this aswell, would make a good action/open world game, with similar gameplay elements to Control. I also wonder why they dont go for a big budget Lord of the rings RPG. Maybe the succsess of Hogwarts Legacy might get them thinking about similar treatment for some of there other franchises.

They should definitely do a game based on Resurrections. Absolute masterpiece of a film. I can't think why they haven't yet. It'll sell better than Hogwarts Legacy.

a deus-ex like matrix game with agent smith as the protagonist would be great

Yes, Atari published those since Warner Bros Games was not even a thing then. I think actual Warner and Atari (and Midway) had historically close ties.
I think Warner's entry to games must have been quite similar timing as Disney's push to try to become a publisher with Tron Evolution, Infintiy and Split/Second etc.
Disney backtracked and mainly does IP licensing for now, while Warner games is doing at least sometimes good sometimes not.
Both are imho just those giants who saw another big pie at their neighbor and decided to have a piece of it, while not really knowing and understanding that you can't half ass it, while currently probably also struggling with their movie businesses, so both better get their acts together yesterday, maybe by doing no dumb moves in gaming. No one knows how bad the finished Batgirl movie was, some seem to suggest exactly the opposite or at least solid not good but not bad either, but the Suicide Squad bomb certainly did not help Warner's DC universe ambitions.

The best Matrix game was probably Max Payne via mods. I am not sure if MP even had official mod support, but it was definitely flooded with Matrix mods. If that happens again with the remake, I guess someone might notice. But that's even more what if than Warner themselves still trusting this IP. With the Multiverse overuse in films and what happens in Matrix anyway, and with Keanu still around and literally kicking, the possibilities are there. Rebooting the trilogy with other actors and changing major plot points, and doing a crossover with different Neos. Doing a spin off series playing in Zion, without the techno party BS and or following different crews almost like Star Trek, just dystopian. Making a movie (and game) about the moment the machines took over. You awakening as Morpheus and searching for Neo or just be a new character and finding candidates in some very dialog heavy adventure game visiting the world and talking with a bunch of people getting clues. The IP has immense potential, imho.

It would be even better with some punctuation.

Ah yes, I remember playing the lobby shootout scene in MP.
