Obviously it's a rerelease of FFXIV 1.0 and the first two story patches. The rest of the patches will be sold as DLC so 2.0 players can know the feeling of being legacy.

Well Lightning showed up in FFXIV: ARR for an event to promote Lightning Returns and I believe SE mentioned another iconic character would be coming to FFXIV: ARR. I wonder if this character would be tied to the announcement of this trilogy..

Final Fantasy VI - War of the Magi, big set pieces, lots of characters, and ends with the sealing of magic, main characters go off to Thamasa...
Final Fantasy VII - 3D remake of Before Crisis, HD/Vita port of Crisis Core and new Game to bridge the gap for the remaining characters.
Kingdom Hearts - didn't they already do this with Birth by Sleep? they can do it some more.
Front Mission - Wanzers during world war II/east asian conflicts (Russian afaghanistan, Korea and Vietnam). Could be awesome!
Deus Ex - Though Human Revolution is already 1 prequel (maybe two more for a trilogy)
My most likely is FFVII, what they have is ALMOST a trilogy, but it would still be a huge undertaking.

Man, I'd kill for Jecht's story to get told. First half would be him running around drunk off his ass assaulting Shoopufs and out-blitzing everyone in the tournament. That's the only way I want FFX's story to continue.

I only ever played KH 1 and 2, but I recall at the end of 2 there being a
scene with old (ancient?) keybladers. Was this ever made into a game? Who were they? Was it ever explored? I don't know shit about this

Yes, a prequel to the first KH game, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for psp. It is included in the soon to be released KH 2.5 for ps3.
My gut reaction was to imagine the Prequel Trilogy as a series of small, downloadable games, like Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. To commit to making three major releases would be too ambitious, especially since it seems Square-Enix has its hands full already. But maybe they're just that ambitious.
