A "Prequel Trilogy" for one important series could be in the making at Square Enix

This would never happen but a XIV prequel detailing the rise and fall of the Allagan civilization would be cool. That stuff might end up being covered in the XIV itself though.

Please, please this. They could also connect it to FFX this way, if they start way back in the timeline. We've seen nothing of the war in Wutai outside of Zack and Angeal attacking that one fort. I want to see Sephiroth become a war hero, not be one already.
 
OK... now I havent played F13 or its sequels. But from what I've read it wasn't very well received. So why is SE continuing throwing money at it? I mean I guess the sequels they can just kinda pump out to get their mileage out of it. But if these are gonna be new games, why not use a more popular final fantasy #?
 
It's a FFXV prequel trilogy for mobile. They need to give the fans something until the real game releases in 2019.

I love 13 but it's time for something different. What these can be....well hopefully an older series like Mana or Chrono.
 
My original thought is FFVII, but they already made Crisis Core.

Chrono would be amazing but would make absolutely no sense.

My personal preference would be for FFVI. There's a ton of places you could go with Locke, Shadow, Sabin, Edgar, Cyan, Celes, etc.

Kingdom Hearts has to be it. Birth By Sleep was a start and this would probably continue.
 
Developers (and especially SE) need to stop designing trilogies and shit before anything is put to market. If the first game is shit, no one will give a damn about two more. If you must, ride on the success only after the first game is released (and good).

The thing about the KH universe is that KH1 and onward seem like the end of a really long story. It's kind of similar to the original Star Wars trilogy in where there's this really long history of important stuff happening with important people, but you start at the tail end of things where said important people are down to one or two in number and we're already approaching the final battle.

I'd be ok with this.

But I'd still be ecstatic over FFVII prequels. We already had some, yeah... but there's so much more to explore!
 
Tomb Raider series about her dad. Richard "London" Croft.

London Croft who's signature weapon is a grappling hook that he uses in a whip-like fashion to fight foes and cross dangerous terrain. He runs around in his trademark Bowler Hat wooing women and finding treasure!

There has been nothing to suggest that this news has any relevance to FFXIII, and any and all posts (minus perfo) sounding off names for Lightning Prequels are wholly sarcastic.
 
If this actually turns out to be Lightning prequels I'll voluntarily wear a XIII-2 Snow (the worst design in that series) avatar. There's no way SE is that dumb.
 
This is a cell phone thing. Maaaybe a 3DS thing, but most probably a cell phone thing. A prequel trilogy means they'd have to invest far too much cash if this were a console project, so that's why mobile.

That said, I can't imagine what series they deem so important it should get a trilogy of games.

Afaik, they already have a lot of work with KH3 (2.5 remaster too) and especially FFXV. This is just the legal department doing their everyday business with trademarks and w/e.
