About a Month to Go Neogaf

Definitely starting to feel regret for cancelling my PS4 preorder now that the real hype is kicking in. It was the rational decision, since I'm going to hold off until tax returns next year to either get a new console or upgrade my PC. But until then, I'll be envying all the new PS4/Xbox One owners here.
 
I didn't know people are this excited for the PC version of AC IV.

are we going to be setting up a PSN thread where we can add people to our friends list? I don't really play MP games on my PS3 so my list is very short right now.

While I enjoy being an armchair analyst, I just want them to come out already. Not really excited about launch, the good stuff doesn't come out until at least a year later anyway.

W101 needs to be beaten
Rayman Legends daily challenges
and of course: Battlefield 4 launches in 8 days...for my PC

I'm all kinds of hype for that Zelda 3DS XL and ALBW. It's going to be exciting to play all those other fantastic 3DS games too!
I could wait another year or so for the PS4 so it could build up a better library and stuff.
 
I'm probably not participating in the launch madness this holiday season but I'm really looking forward to the early impressions, demo kiosk runs and, of course, the GAF freak outs! Though if PS4s flow like water from a park fountain, no guarantees as to my patience. :-D
 
I know, November 22nd those duplicated plumbers in cat suits will be mine!!

Not getting a PS4 for the moment, way later. My Wii U/PS3/3DS and my coming PC will be more than I can handle.

My Backlog saves me.

For the moment will be getting W101, WW HD and maybe Pikmin 3. Playing AC3 side missions, Completing Lego City, ZombiU on Wii U.

Resident Evil 5, Left 4 Dead, Portal 2 and Mark of the Ninja

PS3
Batman AA, ME 1&2, Dead Space 2
 
Playing Pokemon X, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Halo 3 and LoL currently. Getting Assassin's Creed IV and COD Ghost on Day One as well as all of the F2P/PS+ games and Minecraft, I seem to be the only person not getting Killzone Day 1.

Truth. Still plowing thru mh3u. And there is no end I'm sight.
 
I'm fucking stoked. Sony has next gen in the bag before it even started. Killing time by finishing up some backlog.

To me there is just emptyness. the games look more or less the same with better resolution and/or framerates.

I'm excited for the new slew of games but I am not excited at all for the hardware. Well that's not true. I am excited to see how well PSN/XBL will function. how snappy the netcode is, how good the UI is, how fast you can get into an online game compared to pc.


And I guess I am interested in seeing how BF4 runs on consoles online with 64 players. will it be fluent, will it be a good game, will it have good voip. But I am also fearful it won't deliver.


If it will somehow deliver. against my cynical feelings towards new console generations which is just a shitty label put my companies to buy new iderations of the same crap, then I will have to buy one. the requirements for a card needed to rock BF4 how I would want it, would cost more than a PS4 plus the game.
 
Hype got to me today as I finally took the plunge on a new TV as although my 6 yr old 37" sharp is still up to task its only HD ready & not Full HD so got a decent deal on a 46" Samsung smart £500. Now I'm ready for my PS4!
 
How am I passing the time? Like most others here, by going through a horribly long (and growing) backlog of games. I almost wish the PlayStation 4 was coming out later, so I could have more time to get through everything. Almost.

With that said, at least the drought of games post launch won't be so bad because I'll probably still be working through this.

Still debating as to whether I should do a midnight launch. I have one pre-ordered from Amazon but I don't want to wait until 8pm to get it. I'll likely keep both.

I did the same in anticipation for PS4. Except I got a 55" Sony Bravia with about 16ms of input lag in game mode. Just finished up God Of War Ascension on it. Fucking glorious.

Nice, I was tempted to go balls out but Christmas around the corner & what not, FairPlay tho.

It's always funny to see the buyers remorse. If you're gonna drop 400/500 you better be damn sure you want it.
 
So when do the first game reviews come out? After launch? I haven't ordered any games yet, assuming there will be some to get, but maybe I'm wrong?
 
I'm really in that daily countdown mode now. :P

But, GTA5 is helping ease the wait, as it's fucking huge, and I'm hoping to finish a couple more games before Nov 15th.

Nah, I hate people with all of this buyers remorse for consoles. For the price of like 6 retail games I'm buying a brand new console that I'll probably own for 10 years. I never get why people are so adamant about holding off on buying a new system at launch because "I'm not buying a whole system just for one game". Every one here is probably going to get one at some point in the generation, waiting until it has x number of games you want is just silly if you know it'll have those games eventually.
 
I'm seriously gonna run out of money by the end of November. I should have budgeted better. I thought with Driveclub and Watchdogs gone that it'd be a little bit better... nope.

Yeah I'm running through the Killzone series again in the time I have free leading up to launch.
