I don't think there's any reason for this to be VR exclusive. Ace Combat is one of the most well known franchises in a genre that's the most VR friendly, so I think Sony saw this as an opportunity to advertise PSVR's integration into a new AC.
Is it PS4 exclusive?
Is it PS4 exclusive?
Has it been confirmed that this is PSVR exclusive or not?
Didn't the guy say VR exclusive right before the trailer? If so it puts a major wet blanket on the game for me. It means it will be first person only and I don't want to spend the money on a VR device.
The wording in the press release suggests NOT PS4 exclusive:
PlayStation®4 players will also be able to get immersed in ACE COMBAT 7’s realism through exclusive features developed specifically for PlayStation®VR

Was that in game? They didn't show much. Kinda disappointed by that.
notes :
- not sold on the lightning, UE4 ? Looks like the lightning of Assault Horizon, wasn't a fan, still not here, shades look weird.
- TONS of chromatic aberration on their screenshots.
- USS Rosevelt NAVY ? Real world locations and countries again ? Crap...
- But Ocean logo under the F22 in the CG trailer ? Confused
but AC7, guys, hyped
It's Strangereal, they said so on twitter.

IMO, nothing compares to Ace Combat in the PS2 days. The gameplay, missions and environments still hold up today. I tried HAWX 2 and didn't like it, some people tell me I should try HAWX 1. But I have tried other Ace Combat imitators and none of them can match the fun of Ace Combat 3/4/Zero.
Has there ever been a flight combat game using UE4? What are the chances of this running at 60 fps?

Umm... it's coming to VR so it has to run at least 60 fps.
Considering this will a VR game, chance are really high.
Yes!
The first HAWX is a much better paced and polished game than HAWX 2, but it's a very direct imitator of AC (they even plagiarized one mission from AC5), and it doesn't best it any respect really.
It's a good game, but I'd say the best direct AC ripoff is the first Airforce Delta.
Ace Combat is one of the main reasons I still play videogames but that trailer was grade A ass. "Theyre coming! Yer mine!"
All I want is AC 4 5 6 Zero in HD.
I think you guys better simmer down on your VR hopes. The Press release says PSVR "Features". I mean they're showing the guy standing on the tower, for all we know the VR feature is him sky diving. I don't trust this at all. Until they say you can fly and dog fight in VR, it is not a VR title, just VR features.
The trailer on Bandi Namcos channel is at 60 fpsHas there ever been a flight combat game using UE4? What are the chances of this running at 60 fps?
It is. You got me. Ive already beaten 6 well over 50 times.6 is in HD.
uh what
wtf is the point of adding vr to ace combat if you can't fly fucking planes in vr
are they going to add the f-35 in this lol
that plane has turned out to be such a joke lol
the raptor on the other hand whoooooo
