Well yeah, it's been like this for years. So gouging fans is a Bandai Namco thing
C'mon now, you aint playing an arcade airplane fighter game just because it decided to add season passes

Engaged with the game for the longer term? What are you talking about? What happened to being engaged in a game and replaying it because it is fun?The battle pass represents a subtle shift in design philosophy. A small step, but an important one. We'll see how they execute. The clouds looked great in the trailer.

That's why I prefer Live Service over the old model. It prioritizes repeatable fun over grabbing my money. What happened to being engaged in a game and replaying it because it is fun?

The horror of optional cosmetics.
Its not a deal breaker for me, but the more dlc a game has, the more it makes me question the purchase since i'm not always sure what is or isn't in the game. Some games are especially bad with how they communicate this. The horror of optional cosmetics.
Project WingmanWhats the best Ace Combat game you can play today without it being a PS1 or PS2 exclusive?
A completely new aircraft for pvp is optional cosmetics? Smells like p2w. We'll see.The horror of optional cosmetics.

What are you talking about? You'll almost definitely need to pay for season passes. The 'old model' relies on the game being engaging enough that you want to play it regardless of new content. That's why I prefer Live Service over the old model. It prioritizes repeatable fun over grabbing my money.

No it doesn't. It prioritizes roping people into a Skinner box with just enough dopamine hits to keep them playing. That's why I prefer Live Service over the old model. It prioritizes repeatable fun over grabbing my money.

The "old model" (pay before you play) does rely on you wanting to play it. It does not rely on you continuing to play it.What are you talking about? 7.Whats the best Ace Combat game you can play today without it being a PS1 or PS2 exclusive?
I'm definitely in this camp with most games, too.As long as it has the usual full fledged campaign then I don't care.
Yup. I played a half a match of AC7 multi-player and noped out.7.
I don't think Ace Combat's gameplay lends itself well to PvP multiplayer. Maybe if they explored PvE instead, where you're part of a squadron taking on a swarm of tough enemies, that could be cool.
Bandai Namco could have their Capcom moment of making polished single-player games that sell like hot cakes on Steam, but their greed could bite them in the ass if it hurts the overall game design and progression.
just need to know if the AC0 bonus will be available for sale later not locked to preorder like AC5 for AC7
Or Buy them in a year or two in the complete edition cheaper, bug free and with better perfomanceOn the fence about this game and this really doesn't matter to me as I play a few games with BPs and seasons
Either buy them or don't

I don't think they will. AC5 Remastered was a preorder bonus for AC7 and that was never made available. They'll release it stand alone eventually. Think of this more as extended early access.

Help me third party keysites you are my only hope.
Ok looks like I'm gonna have to take the L on the standard edition.
If you ever decide to replay 7 again you should try and get the DLC for cheap. Best missions in the game imo.I actually didn't even get the DLC for 7
Really? I'll look into it. I refuse to buy stuff on PSN (can't transfer my account to the country where I live now) but I'm not against double dipping on steam for that.If you ever decide to replay 7 again you should try and get the DLC for cheap. Best missions in the game imo.
