Platinum #60: Lollipop Chainsaw

Fun story: I got every single trophy in the game, including collections, ranked mode and Dad scores, yet the last trophy I did to unlock the plat was the one for peeking under Juliet's skirt which I somehow forgot/never checked. How did I manage that....

I'll likely go for the BBCSEX plat next, as I'm only one trophy away from it.

Outside of a few problem spots here and there, not very hard at all! Pretty fun too once you get the hang of it and unlock more moves, plus the dialog is great.

Oh, and it's BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. I just like using the acronym cause most people read it as something... else.
 
Going slow so far as I'm working on Resonance of Fate, but my Vita will get me some kind of trophy/achievo scoring. Gravity Rush is sick!

Sigh, my card still isnt updating. I'm like half way through level 18 now, or something.
Ohwell, after the month I've had, I'm semi giving up on the trophy hunt.
It's not going to be a drastic change in how I play, but I'm trying to take less of a focus off the trophies. I find its interfering with how I play non sony games, or how frequently I guess.
I've never played anything I didnt want too just for trophies, closest I'd get to that would be Terminator Salvation, and even then, as a massive fan of the movie, I was curious.

Plus, I've found myself just not in the mood for a lot of gaming lately. Waiting for Darksiders 2 eagerly, but aside from that just down. Maybe its the impending divorce, but I find myself watching half a season of Supernatural lately, rather than gaming.

Either way, I'm no trophy champ, just figured I'd post this just in case someone cares.

I have no idea why this is happening. For people included on the GC-wall, ff this seems to happen to your card please tell me your gamertag name so I can regenerate them.

Yeah yeah, I got that 2 posts in. Was referring to the general trophies, you do get a good amount just playing the game.

To get the divine wind rifle you need an emblem IIRC right?

Frankly can't wait to start the game again.
 
2 more trophies for Fallout: New Vegas and that'll bag me the platinum. I'll probably move back on to SSX to tidy that up for the rest of the month, as I'm pretty close to ending that, too.
 
Spent four hours trying to get the last DLC map pack trophy in Revelations. No want wants to play Wanted, much less let the map be Seina. Fuck you Ubisoft. :|

Can I play Red Dead Redemption without worrying about missing any trophies? I mean, can I play through the game and then go back for what I missed, or will I either need to follow a guide or start a new game?

There's one mission, A Frenchman, a Welshman, and a Irishman, where you'll approach a cabin by the river. After you eliminate the boys camping outside, you'll have to enter the cabin. While you are searching a chest in the cabin, your horse will prance into the river and drown itself! Before entering the cabin, hitch your horse to the cabin post. I'm serious. Your dumbass horse will drown itself. Turn off auto-save before you start this mission, because the last thing you want to do is tell your horse to hold after you dismount, search the chest inside the cabin thus completing the mission and auto-saving, then exit the cabin to find your horse halfway to Atlantis.
 
Got the platinum in ffxiii-2. Clocked in at around 73 hours. Pretty fun game, a bit on the easy side but worth the time. I'd really like to buy the dlc battles but that shit is way too expensive. Definitely will wait for a sale before getting those bad boys.
 
I knew getting the vehicles in LA Noire would suck but this is ridicolous. Not a single parking lot has the vehicle I need, I actually found 5 other vehicles I needed while looking for a completely different one. Right now I'm using the trick to spawning them and it's 50/50 but this is taking forever.

I never went for that spawning "trick" because I never got it to work. I actually used a guide somewhere that had the spawn location for nearly every car, as well as moments in the game (story or crimes) that had guaranteed spawn locations for the later cars. Driving for a bit to find a specific car beats the hell out of praying that one will spawn for 30 minutes.

Anyway, as expected:

Got this right on time for Persona 4 Arena, though I also want to knock out the original Continuum Shift when I can. Luckily I have a local friend whose helping me with the online grind, so that's only a matter of time.
 
Got all my online trophies in (vita) MLB12 The Show. That leaves me with one single trophy to platinum it.

'For the Greater Good': Get a base hit with a broken bat.

Considering I've probably played 75 ish games and not got it through any of that, I dont know what my chance to do this is, but it must happen.

Nice. You should have any problems in Persona 4 Arena if you love BB and GG. I'm kinda looking forward to it.

SMH. I'm stuck at 38 for online and all the player matches are 0 bars. I doubt ranked is much better. :/

I certainly don't mind helping others reach 50, in any case. There isn't a custom search like in Extend, but the online is empty enough where you can get matched up with whoever you want without a problem.
 
Getting all of the cars in L.A. Noire fucking sucked, in fact i feel that all "collect a bunch of stuff" achievement sucks specially in open world games, it's just plain not fun.
Anyway most of last month i spent it on Deus Ex Human revolution and Dark Souls. I played like 50 hours and i only have half of the achievements, i hear it takes 3 playtroughs just to get them all which is bananas. My goals for the month are:

- Get the remaining achievements for Dark Souls (lol)

- Maybe start a new Deus Ex playtrough, i have a lot of missing achievements.

- Getting back to Borderlands, Just Cause 2 and Spelunky. They kinda were forgoten thanks to the awesomeness of Dark Souls.
 
Platinum #94 - Jak & Daxter
Well that was a pretty easy platinum. I managed to run through it in two days and had a ton of fun doing it. Awesome game.

MGS4 will probably be my next game, I've got it patched and installed already. I wish they'd left it for another couple of months though, as it would've been a pretty awesome Platinum #100. Hmm, maybe I should get all but the very last trophy and leave it for #100.

How easy was it? Ive heard people claiming they platinummed it in 10 hours.

Very easy. 10 hours seems legit. I did it over the course of 2 days IIRC. So 10 hours seems right. Jak 2 and 3 aren't as easy (and as fun) though, so be prepared to game the system a bit (read: orb glitch) if you don't want to pull your hair out in frustration.

I'd tell you how long it took if the timer weren't borked (it says 0:00) but 10 hours sounds about right. There was really only one part where I got stuck and even then, it was only because I couldn't get it yet (I had to continue through the game, unlock the vents and then backtrack). Otherwise, it was pretty easy.

Abylim, go into your settings on PSNProfiles, select 'Latest Played Game' and then save. It should put the background back to normal.
 
Ugh Jak 2 is pissing me off big time. I'm burned out on platformers after doing Ratchet 1,2 & 3. Going to give it a rest. Went out and picked up Gravity Rush and the MGS4 trophy patch will be a nice change.
 
Completed Fable 3 this past weekend for my 147th 100% Completed game. Working on Skyrim now... kinda bumed that the Archer is so bare-bones.
 
Woke up this morning and found that PS+ downloaded the MSG4 trophy patch last night. Just about done with Riddick: Dark Athena and debating if I want to keep chipping away at backlog or jump over to MGS4 until the 14th.
 
870/1000 on Binary Domain 360.
Wrapped up all single player achievements. Level 32 in Multi player. Got to round 45 with three others before dying on Invasion (the first level).

I've had to friend probably about 20 people to actually organize matches, as well as mass invite people on recently played list. Since few understand that you need 6 people to play, and when you join a lobby you aren't already playing (it's pre-match), and people just generally have terrible patience, it's incredibly hard to get matches going and very frustrating when people leave and join at around the same time. I've made custom quick messages just to say that. And for the host to start the game, because apparently that's been an issue to.

The game is a lot of fun, and somewhat laggy. But it's laggy for everyone, even host.

The cars is one of those RANDOMLY GENERATED Collectible. I never saw a single tow truck in my entire playthrough of the game and I spent an hour driving around looking for one, suddenly every single truck morphed into the tow truck...

The film reels were a waste of time since the city is completely lifeless, pretty sure all these collectibles were the work of rockstar and not Bondi.

Time for me to go through some older games and plat them, like Dark Souls. Game is so damn boring now and it needs me to tedious shit to get the rest of the items.
 
I'm getting PS+ tomorrow me thinks. I was gonna plop down $20 for the season of Walking dead but seeing I would get the first two eps free with plus I might as well take the plunge and go the full $50. Those free games look to be fun plat quests too as I have never played infamous 2 or Just Cause 2. My ol 80gb PS3 cannot read discs anymore but plays all the downloadable games fine too so I'll have both PS3s rocking!
 
Platinum #35: Dead Space: Extraction.
Fun game, with a pretty easy platinum. Still, I got tired of it in the end, but now I have platinums on all three Dead Space games, yay!

Dead Space Extraction also has the single greatest name for a Platinum trophy in existance.

Wait until you have all the upgrades. And be very careful with the gravity slide races, my trick was to stop sliding before hitting the checkpoints, with that you can fix the camera for the next one without wasting time..
 
Slowly but surely getting back on that Trophy Horse. I can feel the mojo returning.....

Had a great double today. Tried this weekend to get the Hard to the Core trophy in Dead Space 2 (last trophy for plat), died twice (once in Ch6 and once in Ch13 fffuuuuu). Managed to get my third save on Ch13 on the third try and decided I try and finish it on Monday. Man I was so proud when I got it today and I was kinda freaking out on the final flying section fearing I would screw it up, but I didn't. Pretty proud of this plat, took some effort. Took me about a year hiatus after getting the second to last trophy, just like with Dead Space 1 haha. Probably should get Extraction too since KaizorPenguin was updating on it ITT.

Something that didn't took skillful effort was grinding out Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, man that took a long time. Kinda burned out on Ratchet but hey I still have 3 games to finish up looool. Might get a head start in Asura's Wrath before I'll tackle those.

Decided that I would mop up some old games too this month (in which I only need to get a couple of trophies) to get closer to those elusive 100 platinums. Put my eyes on Mirror's Edge, New Vegas, TR Underworld, Bioshock 1 (not 2 because screw the dead MP in that) and Silent Hill 3. Should at least get 4 plats minimum out of those (Mirror's Edge might get tough)

Also Darksiders II and Sound Shapes look great for August.

Let's do this!

Man, Harcore mode was a horrible/awesome experience. Any time I heard those damn stalkers I knew I was in trouble. I wonder what Visceral has in store for DS3, no saves at all perhaps? :/
As for Extraction, it's pretty straightforward. Upgrade the flamethrower, spam melee, and demolish the challenges and Impossible mode.
