Achieve Trophies | September 2012 Thread | IT'S OVER 10.000!

Stacking on XBLA is only 300 spacebux to buy now. This is a unadvertised sale I believe as it normally sells for 1200. Looks to be an easy completion too. I should have the Skyrim Hearthfire DLC finished today, wish house building was included from the start as it is cool to have a treasure room.

I don't understand (have never played WKC). The gap is over 2 years and duck360 are multiple players. Are some of the trophies too close to each other? He is marked as cheater anyway.

I think he's just complaining about how he could get those trophies while playing all those other games but the multiple players thing would completely explain that.

Out of curiosity, does TheSeks still visit the thread? Because I was randomly comparing my trophies with people on my friends list and his MGS4 list looks pretty weird. 12 hours from finishing the game the first time to getting the platinum? Getting the bandana trophy AFTER the iPod trophy? I don't want to be a jerk and throw the word 'cheater' at someone on the boards but unless the game massively glitched (which is certainly possible), those should be impossible.

Last month I got a bit more than I expected.
This month I plan on getting a bit more in Persona 4 Arena, Binary Domain, Child of Eden and The Outfit. And Tekken Tag 2 if I get it (really want to, but we'll see).

Yesterday finally wrapped up both CV SotN and CV SotN JP. Just had to beat it with Richter with both, but never felt like it. Turned out to be much easier than I expected (with Holy Water). Sitting at 79 Games Complete now. The Outfit will probably be 80.

I also bought The Simpsons Arcade since it was on sale and had been mildly interested in it.

Making some nice progress on Plants vs. Zombies, only Enlightened is between me and the platinum. I need to gather about 5 plants still, from two different rows.

So I'm on a bit of a trophy hunt right now! I finally hit level 6 and i'm eyeing to do a few Sony titles this week

Pacman CE DX, Back to the future Part 5, Daytona USA

What's his PSN ID?

12 hours from first finish to platinum is a bit strange. Chicken first, that's a given. But then he would have to beat the game 7 times during those 12 hours, which means around 1 hour 40 minutes each. Which is speedrun time (1:40 was world record in 2008). He still would have to get all the specifics for each emblem during that time as well.

Did he get bandana during the same few seconds as iPod? If that's the case, that could be possible, if he saved the BBE playthrough for last.

As he seems to have had his PSN taken out of the OP, I'll hide it because I figure there's a reason why he did that. Quote to reveal.

And no, the bandana wasn't earned in the same few seconds as the iPod one, it was earned like 8 hours afterwards.

Almost done with Wipeout 2048: I'm missing only two trophies (not counting DLC; I'll get those later, as they're very easy since all you have to do is to finish HD & Fury campaigns with gold medals, with easy mode allowed), and I'll get both when I finish the multiplayer; I'm almost level 17 and I need to reach level 20.

Sadly it's a much worse platinum than HD's and I think it will be almost as rare. Not because it's difficult, most trophies are fairly easy (the Beat Zico one is laughable after HD's), but man, what a big fucking grind the multiplayer is. Sooooooooo boring and repetitive. I have never done a grind like this for a trophy and hopefully I won't do it again in the near future.

Also this platinum will be unattainable soon. Since many trophies are online-dependant (you need a minimum of 4 players to advance in the online campaign), when the community dies, so will the chances to get the platinum.

How is Stacking? I guess since it's only 300 msp I'll try out the demo.

Also, my progress for September:

Rock Band Blitz: 480/500gs, 31/32 achievements
Lollipop Chainsaw: 115/1000gs (at stage 4)
Sleeping Dogs: 20/1000gs (just started)

The last achievement I need for Blitz is "Play 300 unique songs." Gosh what a grind. When I'm done with that it's definitely going into the trophy case on TA.com. So far I've only played 173 out of 300 songs... it'll take awhile.

Also, Lollipop Chainsaw is an incredible game. I'm too early in Sleeping Dogs to make the same judgment there, but Sleeping Dogs seems great too. It would be correct to say that neither game has missable achievements, right? Sometimes the road maps on xbox360achievements.org are just plain wrong. They say Sleeping Dogs has zero missables (good news), but that Lollipop Chainsaw has 22 missables. I call bullshit, since the game has stage select.

I don't see any way of doing this except something glitched or a hack was used.

For all iPod tracks, you HAVE to have all emblems. Which means big boss emblem as well. And big boss + and several other emblems require no kills, which would immediately unlock bandana.

stealth camo was unlocked around 54 minutes after iPod tracks was unlocked. Which doesn't make sense as well. No alerts is also required by some emblems, especially big boss. Same problem as with bandana.

Oh and it's 3 hours from act 5 trophy (which means first time, 24 days, 12 hours, 50 minutes) till all iPod tracks trophy (24 days, 15 hours, 50 minutes).

His LBP2 is... huh.

His LBP2 is... huh.

You don't need cheats for that though. Just import a save from a friend via the in-game function and trophies will start popping out left and right. Also I've heard it's somewhat bugged and it can give you trophies for no reason.

Haven't tried it yet. I've bought it but I've been super busy with work. I've also gotten MLB.tv and watching NFL tonight so sports and work have taken over. :)

I did manage to get my last achievement in Skyrims Hearthfire for the 50/50gs during halftime. lol

That's exactly why I pointed it out, though I'm not sure if he visits this thread anymore anyway.

In other news:

Platinum #100 - Sleeping Dogs
Loved almost every second of it, aside from running around looking for the very last event. Very similar to GTA but better in every way. Vastly better setting, gameplay and story. I'm very happy Square Enix picked it up and hope for a sequel.

Now I guess I'll start playing Tony Hawk's again, if it can catch my interest. R&C Collection just arrived, so I guess I could start that as well.

Congrats! You deserve a shoutout in next month's thread.

And yeah the MGS4 thing is weird. But hey, Kerotan trophy from MGS3 glitched on me last month, so I'm not surprised things don't go as planned in a MGS title lol. Still weird though, I agree, especially the time to do 7 playthroughs

Ah finally 100% Deadstorm Pirates. Percentage completed for this game is pitifully small. Took me a while and my wrist is a bit sore from all the move actions you need to do. But yeah, feels good.

100% Papo & Yo. Amazing game.

Looking at probably sleeping dogs or the last Deathspank game. Or maybe Darksiders 1.

Platinum #73: Plants vs. Zombies. It is my first Vita platinum. Farming for that Enlightened trophy was a bore, but all in all a very fun experience.

He looks so deliriously happy just to be here.

Are you referring to Novice difficulty or Pilot Assist? In the case of the latter, Pilot Assist is a detriment; prevents proper acceleration and influences "pinballing."

what a big fucking grind the multiplayer is. Sooooooooo boring and repetitive.

Head over to WipeoutZone and you'll find a thriving and friendly community who would be glad to race online.

Took a detour playing RB:Blitz, fun little game. Was looking at the trophy list and wondering where the play 300 unique songs are... guess Harmonix doesn't think PS3 owners have that much DLC lol. Will try to get at least the 5 star all songs trophy, but the coins system is just... wow.

Ahhhh yea, made the list this month. Been working and not playing that much but should start up again here soon. Have Rainbow Moon, Infamous 2, few others to play with before Borderlands 2. In November gonna hit up some games I missed like Gravity Daze, Dragon's Dogma, Max Payne 3 and Sleeping Dogs.

Just scored 3 easy golds with that Zen Pinball 2 update.

I need to get back into trophy whoring :(

No you don't.
It's a drug but with little satisfaction.

After last month i am burnt out and cant be assed to even pick up a controller.
Played about 2 hours of ratchet and clank 3.

Will probably take me all month to even complete that the way im going. lol

I don't make much progress cause I like playing games where I'm lucky if I have a trophy pop up after 6 hours of playtime. @_@

Making good progress on Rune Factory though. It and Tales of Graces are my goals until Tokyo Jungle comes out, then I'll be getting my Pomeranian on.

Yes, i do :P But yeah that's my problem too. Barely played anything since my week of solid MGS4 playing for platinum.

Got Tokyo Jungle, can't wait to see what trophies it brings to the table. If anyone is looking forward to it, it is a 4,5 GB download.

Started Stacking last night and it's fun! Seems like an easy game too. I also started Surfs Up as I bought 4 easy gamerscore games during the summer games on demand sale. My goal is to get to 60k gamerscore before 2013(currently 54910). Shouldn't be too hard as both PS3s are broke plus I'm not a fan of Gravity Rush and the grind of Dungeon Hunter has made me put down my Vita.

Just got the platinum trophy (#31) for Tomb Raider Anniversary. My first in over a month.

Found it a bit harder to do than the one for Tomb Raider Legend. The hardest one is probably the Time Trial in St. Francis Folly. But compared to other games it's still an easy trophy, just be ready to curse at the controls from time to time.

Yeah, when things just look a little weird like that I can accept glitches as a reason and that's why I didn't want to just yell cheater straight away.

And thanks for the shoutout.

Platinum #101 - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD
Went back to this yesterday and wrapped it up today. Not a good game in my opinion though. Everything I liked in it were things that I'd expect from a HD remake of the classic Tony Hawk's games but almost everything (aside from the crappy downhill levels) were in the execution of it. In particular, the framerate is all over the place and the physics not only feel off but are really messed up at times. I also don't like how they've changed a lot of the objectives in the levels, which kinda defeats the entire point of a nostalgia trip. Can't say I'd recommend it to be honest, you'd probably be better off finding one of the old games and playing them via backwards compatibility.

Machinarium should be next and then probably the R&C Collection.

Ratchet 3 is buggy as hell. Freeze after freeze. Locks my system up. No wonder it's takin me forever. Just froze in middle of a save. If it's corrupted. I'm gonna sell this shit

Talk about freezes man. Darksiders 2 locked up on me 13 times already (I counted). It's not even funny. The patch isn't out in Europe yet but still. It would usually lock up if I collected a stone or book page. Since it locks when the saving icon is on-screen I always feared that my savegame would get corrupted, and pre-patch your savegame is locked so you can't make backups :/

Seriously disappointed in this title. Probably one of the biggest disappointments so far for me this year gameplay wise and on a technical level too.

Just mopped up everything. Only some grinding and Crucible left. Thanks to Abylim for those badass scythes btw!

And I just finished Walking Dead episode III. Man, what a ride.

Caved in Sonic Adventure (coz it was 4.99), enjoying it due to nostalgia.

Almost done 100% Galaga Legions DX, have about 15 or so more time trails to go.

I swear after doing about 20 or so of those time trials back to back you almost get split-second reflexes. Had to stop because it's getting pretty late here, but man was that a rush.

Is there anyone here that was trying to get the achievement/trophy "The Shadows Rushed Me" in Max Payne 3 for beating New York Minute Hardcore?

Well Rockstar decided to be very mean. I don't know much about the trophy system, but on the Xbox, you might have to get this achievement without a timestamp. This is because Rockstar has implemented a new patch that severely reduces the time bonuses you receive from explosions. IMO, those bonuses are critical to beating this mode, because they give you the flexibility and peace of mind to calmly, carefully, and slowly fight through the more difficult, late-game chapters. I couldn't imagine the crippling pressure and sensation of dread if you were at, say, Chapter 12, with only 2 minutes banked instead of 20 minutes banked.

Anyhow, you can play with the old settings by clearing your cache, refusing a patch, and playing offline. But you'll get no timestamp.

Actually, I'd love to know if any GAFers can get through this online, with a patch. I just can't imagine beating this mode without the bonuses from explosion. It makes me shudder just thinking about it.

On the PS3 the trophy would still have a timestamp. Offline or online doesn't matter for the PS3. The timestamp is only missing if you earn Trophies before your account has gone online.

Finally.
Child of Eden 950/1000 || 48/49
I don't think I'll ever get the last one (Gold Stars (100% Purification & over 800K points) on all 5 stages on both difficulties). I currently only have Gold Stars on stages 4 normal and 5 normal. Though who knows, never thought I'd get this far anyways.

Also
100% on The Outfit and Alien Hominid HD

Started
Sine Mora 25/200 || 4/12
I like it. Bought it since it was a Grasshopper game (I don't even know if that's a very good excuse though) and on sale. Not the type of Shumps that's been coming out lately, and I like that. Kinda tired of the Cave-style (though their are bullet hell moments for what little I've played). Little annoying to dodge since it isn't clear where the hit box is (it's not the entire ship, I know that much).

re: timestamps
1 People who cheat get them offline typically.
- it's a little more legit. Hydro Thunder XBLA has a glitch to get an achievement for local 4 player all beating the AI. The glitch has been patched. You can delete the patch and do the glitch offline still, though.
2 Having a timestamp can show a sort of progression.
3 (?) Can't you now delete recent offline achievements? Something relating to security.

Plus, asking that in a insulting way in a thread about getting Achievements and Trophies seems stupid to me.

Gaaah finally! That last achievement, "Party at Your Place," is for playing 300 unique songs.

Now I'm going to rip through Lollipop Chainsaw!
