The London singer has not performed since she had an operation in the US "to stop bleeding from a benign polyp."

The 23-year-old said she was "immensely proud" to be performing at the ceremony in Los Angeles on 12 February.

She is nominated in six categories at this year's Grammys, including record of the year for Rolling In The Deep.

In a statement she said: "It's an absolute honour to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."

In October it was announced that Adele was cancelling all gigs and public appearances in order for the condition to be resolved.

I do agree with what you're saying, but given the way the pop industry moves now (rapid fire singles from annual albums) this is a come back.

I KNOW IT SOUNDS AWFUL but that seems to be how it is now =/

Well I can agree that it's a comeback for her. But for pretty much all of the audience it's no different from any artist not touring for a few months or doing a TV performance for a few months. Comebacks are usually a lot longer and mutual.

Artists don't have a choice on what songs get released as singles. Both her albums are amazing front to back. Very few artists in the history of music can claim this.

I can't wait to see Adele set fire to the lessors, even though one of them is Rihanna. I'm a new Adele stan, but she and 21 are flawless, and I still get goosebumps hearing her sing rolling in the chair deep.

Rihanna is performing and will win for Best R&B sung collaboration for "What's my name" so I have no issues with Adele racking up awards.
