Troy Broadbridge died in the 2004 tsunami.
I have a sneaking suspicion it was suicide. From videos I've seen of him he strikes me as a major perfectionist. He looks like the kinda guy who could have unrealistic expectations about himself, his looks and his career.
Malthouse, 59, said he felt "a great sense of honour to be given the opportunity to coach this great football club".
He said his first meeting with Carlton over the coaching position was last Monday.
The Blues have lost four assistant coaches since Ratten's sacking, but Malthouse said he had no role in those departures.
He said he wanted to coach with a different coaching 'structure' to that of Ratten.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/147501/default.aspxTHE AFL is confident a packed stadium will host the first home and away game on foreign soil.
St Kilda and the Sydney Swans will contest the first game played for premiership points to be held outside of Australia next season when they play at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand on Anzac Day.
AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan said the 34,000-capacity stadium could be packed out for the historic match, and said the league had hopes that one day a standalone New Zealand team would be a part of the AFL.
"I'm going to put it out there, we'll sell that game out. It will be an incredible event broadcast live back into Australia celebrating shared cultures and values with a great product where sports-mad New Zealanders with Australians who like to travel will be having a great day," McLachlan said.
"Where that goes, I don't know. Whether it's a team in 10 years, I'd love to think it was."
The game will take place immediately following the traditional Collingwood versus Essendon match at the MCG so it can be broadcast live in Australia.
The Saints have been negotiating with the AFL and the Wellington City Council for months to arrange the match.
The initial agreement is that St Kilda will host five games at Westpac Stadium over the next three years, with two to come in 2014 and another two in 2015.
the rivalry between the blues and pies will def heat up come next year
Come on Pies. Going to be a ripper of a game. Swans are looking great.
If I could see Collingwood beat Adelaide in the GF I would be a happy man. Won't happen though, I think the Hawks will be too good.
Crows won't make it. Pies probably won't either but still. Hawks vs Swans or Pies definitely.
Steve Johnson was just on Fox Footy. I don't think he has a career in football commentary in his future haha
if mathew richardson and brian taylor can do it, anyone can
I actually kinda like Richo. Plus he doesn't talk in a monotone voice. Even when Stevey J was excited he sounded like he'd just woken up.
BOY O BOY WOWEEEE!!! He's got abs like a cheese grater!!! Ugh BTYeah Richo is great. BT on the other hand...
I think if hawthorn keep going with the yips and adelaide are efficient in counter-attacks, it will be a crows-swans game next week.
Hawks need a kick up the arse, Adelaide are looking good right now. Umpires are shit as usual, nothing new.
