After the Wii U price cut

Are you more willing to buy a Wii U this holiday season, or are you still holding out for another price drop, or games?

Most of GAF seemed to have wanted to wait for a price drop, but this might not be a good enough price drop for some.

Oh yes. It's just a shame that I'm a poor college student, and unless I get a job between now and PS4, I'm out of luck on that Zelda Wii U. :(

I would have paid $300 for the regular one anyway, so this doesn't change anything for me as I have zero interest in NintendoLand or owning a digital copy of anything on a Nintendo console.

I have more interest in a WiiU then an Xbox One. But being the PS4 is out this year, I won't be able to buy both. So will wait and see what happens with the WiiU before I buy it even next year. Can't afford a console (ala Vita) that may die in a short life.

Still not enough for me, $250 or bust. A pack in of a bunch of mini games I can pick up second hand for dirt cheap or a game I played ten years ago or so does not justify the added price to me.

Lets be serious here. It was 350 for deluxe and 300 for regular. Now is 300 for deluxe and regular is gone. So what was the price drop again? Is still 300. With a game included that's it but unless is WW (and that's limited right?), I dont know how it helps

I'm joking, of course. I was getting the console at $350 on Christmas, now I'll get it at $300 plus more games lol

For the first time, I actually find myself disinterested in just about every game Nintendo has shown off.

And I will never play The Wind Waker.

Still way too expensive in Australia. Needs to be well under $350 to be competitive once the over-priced PS4 lands (over-priced relative to US price).

And then it still needs some fucking games.

True, Nintendo prices in Australia and New Zealand are fucking highway robbery. Luckily I managed to pick up a Wii U when Dick Smith was getting out of stocking them for $150NZ(~$115USD). Still haven't bought a game as all stores still seem to sell them for $100 months after launch.

I'd like to hope so. I REALLY want Wonderful 101 to succeed, and since it comes out with the Wii U price drop, I'd feel it has a pretty good chance to do some decent numbers. Hell, maybe even chart in the bottom half of the NPD.

No.

Still not a deep enough cut and still no truly interesting games.

50 dollar Gamecube port and sequel to Mario 3DS isn't going to convince me to spend 300 bucks.

The fact that I find this console's future to be questionable also is a real concern. Doesn't seem a wise investment as things currently stand.

I wish I'd been able to get in on that. I bought one at launch but managed to sell it for what I bought it for. I contemplated it again and again but I just didn't think the quality was there. But at $150, why the hell not?

BTW, try the Warewhare for cheap Wii U games.

I'll probably pass on a Wii U for now though as I'm finding myself even contemplating cancelling my PS4 order. The games just aren't there.

Yah, that was a best ever sale for you guys across the pond! I would have jumped in at that price (if only to have a new WiiU to flip for something else!)

Cut the price to 99€.

Cut the Gamepad out.

Then maybe I will think about getting it used for 70 or 80€.

Want it in white and for 200. Wish I had been able to get myself to a Walmart when they were selling the basic for that price. Damn not having a car...

I own one but for anyone thinking about it I suggest waiting a bit longer we have xbone and ps4 launching in November so who knows how that's going to affect wii u sales and possibly have them lower it again next year. Don't want you guys to get that burned feeling I have right now.

Given its anemic lineup, it would need to drop to 200 for me to even consider buying one. Actually, since I still don't have a 3DS, I would buy that (and the Vita come to think of it) before the Wii U, even if it was 200 bucks.

Nope.

$50 price drop isn't enough for such outdated hardware.

Games lineup is still lacking, nothing of interest has been announced that makes me want to buy the system.

They're going to need at a bare minimum, another $50 price cut, and at least 1 Mario Galaxy-esque killer app for me to consider biting.

Having a bigger memory solution and proper account system will also help as well.

Otherwise, I'm just sort of inclined to wait until $199 in a few years.

A lot of retailers here already offered the U at €299, or even lower. Don't think the pricedrup will help much.

I'm personally waiting for a healthier library before I jump in.
