I've been hearing a lot about this game. But aren't open betas traditionally open to everyone? I'm not really sure. I really want to try this out, but don't want to pre-order right now, if anyone has an extra key, it would be greatly apreciated.

For MMOs Open Betas are usually easier to get into, meaning they do a lot of first come first serve giveaways on sites and fileplanet gives out keys to their subscribers and then eventually on a first come first serve. Sometimes after the open beta they will open it up to anyone and call it Public or some other name. But usually this is how MMO betas are handled.
 
This open beta will be as open as it'll get for Aion. Yeah, it's rather exclusive, but there's not much they need to test now, and I suppose they're not interested in offering free trials this early on in Aion's life.
 
My PC is up and streamlined for Aion...it's currently the only game installed. :) Just posted my highest score for 3DMark06, so I'm happy. 12868 points

Dunno where that 9/09 is from, but the actual release for Aion is the 22nd.

EDIT: Unless they mean Sept. 2009, in which case that's right... but still, kind of weird to leave the day off.

Not sure about spell pushback but that might be balanced later on by the clerics not being able to up their healing via stats. Theres a few people here who played cleric who could probably give you a definite answer though.

created my account and applied the beta cd-key. downloaded, installed - ready to jam.

i installed this craziness on windows 7. here's to it running well, y'all.

in the video you quoted the level 25 pov team invades a level 20 hunting ground. they have at least 3 to 4 levels advantage over their targets which makes these fights very easy because level and skill difference are a major factor in this game. if you want to get an idea of game mechanics then either read up on them, watch korean level 50 videos or at least NA/EU beta 4 abyss videos (everyone in the abyss back then was level 25).

Thats the content patches, 1.1 to 1.5. Theres tons of changes in those things. one of them being more additions to the character creator including more western faces.

The cleric was being attacked by a Templar who has no stuns or any way to stun at that level unless he gets a lucky knockdown with a great sword. There's more stuns at the higher levels between the classes, but unless you're knocking Clerics down, they can heal like mofos.

Dont know what NCsoft did but I can t start the game anymore. Either the Launcher crashes right away with physical adress error or gameguard error. Well fuck you NCsoft, everything worked fine in CB ...

EDIT: Hey, I have an opening cut scene now! Didn't have that before. At least I know I've been saying the title right this whole time, heard a guy on YouTube say "A-on." Cut scene says "I-on."

I figured there would be something like that, I guess we can all get on each other's friends lists in the meantime.

What does this ascension involve, in game? Getting to a certain level? A quest? I'm pretty much going blind into this game, wasn't even sure I was getting it a few weeks ago.

Also, pretty sure you can put me down as Assassin if the Legion is gonna be limited to 30 and we can only have one character each in it. I will at least be trying all 4 starting classes a bit next week, though.

At level 9 you get the ascension quest, pick your class, get your wings and go to Altgard
 
hopefully we can have some constant parties going to make leveling easier. I know come retail release, I'm spamming elite mobs. That's how those Chinese players flew up the ranks.

I think you need to complete all the campaign quests up to that point as well. But you do those on the way to 9, anyway.

I don't think so...all the keys are gone by now,Fileplanet has the exclusive for the N.A. keys and EURO keys had a few different sites giving them away but i'm pretty sure they where all gone in a few hours.Unless some places do a last chance giveaway for non subscribers,I think open beta is closed for now ;)
 
Just remembered that i have to download the patch. Well at least i am getting great speeds from the ncsoft patcher.

edit: Here today, gone tomorrow.
 
Can't wait for tomorrow! I re-subbed to WoW last week as I was in the 'MMO mood' but man it's frustrating as hell.

I was finally able to get the last few levels on my hunter though, went 76-80 via AV now that the BG has XP. I was getting about 90-100K per match, give or take. Anyway it only took 2 days to get to 80, but man, some people just don't understand the concept of AV.The horde in my battle group love to just zerge Vanndar without capping and defending towers! It's so frustrating.

Anyway, point being, tomorrow is Aion and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Well, the beta is tomorrow but still, there are two classes I'd like to try before I figure out what I'm going to roll on launch. It's looking like Cleric or Ranger.

Also, JB, my brother would like to be in the guild again. He was in the guild during the closed beta events and he has preordered the game so if there is room he's down for it.
 
Im stoked for tomorrow. You can put me on the list, unless there is some extreme circumstances I will be getting the game for early release or whatever.

Thinking about either Cleric or Templar, will look up on it more later today when I have time.

I think if JBird put in his list the players in game names as well it would make it a cinch to build our friends lists for grouping before we have a guild setup.

I can't wait, been loading up the patcher and trying every day now just in case it opened early. On a side note I plan on streaming my gameplay live on a site, probably livestream.com or maybe even justin.tv for kicks and wiggles.

One very important area that will affect everyone is that we will be balancing races as folks rush to log into the servers. As a result, you may get a "This race cannot be created" message because that server is starting to become unbalanced. It's important to us that we try and keep a balance of the races during the Open Beta of Aion. If you come across this message, please feel free to try another server or wait until the server balance has tipped back.
