Chanters are buffer/healers. They start out very strong, then taper off and fall in line past 30. They use staves mainly, but kung fu they are not. =/
 
After I hit level 10 last night with my templar and teleported to the new zone my computer freezes on the load to the zone lol. Ive tried a few times since then and it keeps forcing me to restart. Anyone else run into this? Might just be stuck and need to petition a gm

Just tried to play on the US servers and the lag is actually worse. I'm sure they're aware of it, and honestly I do understand it's a beta. I just really hope they fix this before launch. It's pretty bad. It's as bad right now (for me) as it was back in CB#5 and that was BAD.
 
I haven't been able to login at all. Keep getting "Disconnected from Server" errors that I didn't experience in the closed beta.

Going to re-install Windows tomorrow and try again but I'm not holding my breath, seems that a couple people are getting this problem as well and haven't been having any luck. GameGuard is also the devil.

Reinstalling Windows isn't going to help...this is on the Server side, not Client. Yesterday I was playing lag-free, today I can't play at all because the lag is horrible.

I just reinstalled Windows a few days ago.
 
Been reading that the lag has been fixed, can anyone confirm that for our server (Vaizel)?

It would be nice to actually not rubberband every 10 feet.

It was running pretty much perfect from about 6 CST or so onward.
 
I actually did not experience any lag on Vaziel server.
Btw I tried to scan for info about how to get into the GAF guild, but apparently my English reading skill is failing me (can't find it in the last 2-3 pages).
 
Just an update for the US GAF Asmodian Legion, currently have 8 spots open until we reach the cap for the Legion (it can be upgraded though) Send a message to Lebron, Jbird, Kara, Song, there are a few more that can invite but I can't remember names at the moment. Not sure i will be on tonight so keep a lookout for the people listed. Ready for Retail!

How's the GAF clan doing on Clerics? I've been leveling one on a different server, but may switch over and join you all if you need some heals.

30 spots initially, costs 120k Kinah to upgrade it unless we get an influx of people this week I see no need to upgrade it for the beta. When retail comes people are going to have to be patient if we reach cap and everyone gets in, we may have to take up a collection lol
 
I never understiood the point of capping the Legion and needing to upgrade beyond a stupid kinah sink.
 
Been toying with getting into this...tried it out a little, and it is a beautiful game. I do have a few questions.
First, I'm looking for an MMO for my wife and I to play together. We played a LOT of City of Heroes and there were a number of things we loved about it.

-Character creation (obviously) was great to have such unique looking characters...I'm not seeing a whole lot of that in Aion yet...All Mages wear the Mage robes, all Scouts have the same stance, etc. Even screenshots show characters that could easily be mistaken for eachother. Is there something I'm missing here?

More importantly, we liked the variety in the powersets/abilities. The skill trees in Aion haven't shown much in the way of variety of builds yet...but I'm still pretty early. Does this open up some? Or do all high level Sorcerors have more or less the same build?

Finally, we're really not into PvP...is this that big of a focus in Aion? If so, would there be other MMO's that aren't so PvP centric?

As I said, Aion really is a gorgeous game...and even if she and I don't play it, I might have an account for myself. Just seems that with this, Conan, Champions, and the upcoming Star Wars, there's a lot out there in the MMO world...maybe I should just start a new thread for this...

Played a ton of City of Heroes myself.

The character creation in Aion is pretty awesome. Not only can you create a unique face and body type, you can also customize the way you look; if you have a better piece of armor but like the look of your current armor you can swap the look of the 'worse' armor with the stats of a better piece as long as you have them both in your inventory, the same goes for weapons. There is also 'clothing dye' which can change the colors of your clothing. You need to go to a 'tailor' like place to do it though.

In terms of skills, I'm not sure how each class branches and how 'unique' you can be. However, the did add the 'Stigma' system which was made for the sole purpose of making sure all characters aren't 'the same'. Basically, you get 5 slots for powers that aren't exactly what you'd expect from your class. Think of it as EPPs or PPPs from City of Heroes.

PvP however, is something you have to deal with. It's a Korean game, so naturally it's pretty heavy on the PvP. I think this is step in the right direction, but that's just me.

My wife and I are also going to be playing Aion 'post CoH'. So I'm hoping for the best here! Alot've Korean games add 'marriage bonuses', so I hope we see that in the future :D
 
Going through the motions of updating now :) Think ill try a mage class for the first time evar:lol

I shall attempt to join the Eu gafs server/side aswell.

Pfft, I can't even log in at the european beta,
I get a can't connect to authorisation server every time.
Searched the nets and no decent answer around.

Well... back to Champions online...

There ist a workaround. You may enter the ip to the authorization server manually. From the EU official forums:

1. Start the NCsoft Launcher
2. Under installed games right click on Aion
3. Properties
4. Under additional command line parameters enter the following: -ip:206.127.147.26 -port:2106 -cc:1

This is the current ip for the European authorization servers. It will most likely change in the future. If this ip does not work, try this one: -ip:206.127.147.28 -port:2106 -cc:1

Haven't tried it myself but a friend of mine says the second one worked for him.


Edit: Too late! But at least we have now the european and the US servers
