I've only played this game for an hour. And it's already my Game of the Year. Holy Hell its the perfect game for anime lovers

Sorry for being kind off topic but it was thanks to me wanting to buy this game that I contacted my credit company, and apparently someone had been going around Toronto where I live in Hotels using my card number... I'm baffled. The card was cancelled by my bank because they suspected there was a fraud going on... Well thanks for that XSEED, if it wasn't for me trying to buy this game, I wouldn't of known of this.

Akiba's Trip saves lives, this is a proven fact.

If my game craze doesn't have this tomorrow, then I probably won't be playing it this week. It sucks because I was looking forward to playing this for months now. I should have preordered as a fail-safe, but I usually avoid that unless there's something limited included.

Picked up my preorder from GameStop a couple of hours ago, haven't gotten a chance to play it yet though. I asked the GS employee how many they got in he said 4 altogether. 3 were preorders and the last one was just as an extra. Crazy. It's games like this that make me glad I still preorder, because niche titles in a niche genre you never know if you'll be able to secure a copy without a preorder.

Dude, sounds like you need to start banking online. No one could ever book something like that on my credit card—much less get it cancelled—without me knowing in hours.

Such a shame that one of Mexico's biggest game retailers didn't even have it on preorder or as a new release. Oh well, online shopping to the rescue! (my copy should be here by friday :D )

Funny thing is that I do. I just don't check it often cuz I mean... If I don't use it I ASSUME that nothing has changed. Guess not.

Also I played for a bit on a break from studying for my exams, and 2 things stood out to me:
1- The game looks really sharp and colorful on the Vita. It looks great!
2- Nana's dialog is hilarious. As a matter of fact the whole tone of the game is hilarious.

After going through what I did, plus all the stress from finals, playing this is like a breath of fresh air.

You can't use female models for MC until after you beat the game? I know MC is always treated male by the story. Just wondering.

bad gameplay lol
Honestly not feeling it too much.
Lots of slowdown is really bugging me.

Yeah, I haven't played much yet, but the slowdown is really jarring. It almost looks like there's some frameskipping going on to keep the game from actually slowing down? Whatever it is, it's not great.

But then, it's probably not wise to expect a game from Acquire to run smoothly. :lol

I should have realized this sooner.

Yeah, you don't unlock any alternate character models until the first time you beat the game. The one exception is if you download DLC containing character models, but the first of those won't be released until next week.

Is this PS3 or Vita?

Both versions have this issue, though it's slightly more pronounced in the PS3 version. That's what I meant previously when I said the Vita version runs a little bit smoother -- but I definitely mean "a little bit." The difference between the two isn't anything tremendous.

It's something we looked into improving upon for the English release, but sadly, there just wasn't any way.

Is this fixed in the PS4 version?

Yep! PS4 version runs silky smooth. The only potential trip-up there for videophiles is that it runs at 30fps instead of 60fps -- but this was done in order to populate the streets with an absolutely ludicrous number of people to make it feel more authentic to the experience of actually being in Akihabara (without causing the game's framerate to stutter in the process), and Acquire apparently used some form of "between-frame processing" (their words, translated) to simulate 60fps.

...Which worked on us, as we all thought the game was legit 60fps until we were told otherwise. ;)

Played a bit of the game, and I'm enjoying it so far. I did one of the side quests and had part of my clothes stripped, and then got arrested by the cops and my clothes were still missing. Are they gone for good if you get stripped, or something? That kinda sucks if true.

Ok! Decided I'll be getting this!! More than likely will go with the physical Vita version since I'm low on space in my 8 gig card and after much decision I really don't want to spend that much on a memory card.

Still gotta leave space for SAO next week!

If you act fast enough, you can buy your clothes back from a shop called "5Day's" in Electric Town Plaza. It's down the alley along the side of the plaza, and is also where you go to buy DLC items in-game (after buying/downloading them IRL).

So was the Vita version suppose to come with AR cards? I selected AR & it mentions special cards that I can print out if the cards didn't come with the copy of the game. Edit: Found the cards online from the official site....& it seems I can't even do it until I start the game and have some save data.

Yeah, we weren't sure if we were going to include physical cards or not at first, so we tried to make the in-game messaging kind of vague on that point. But in the end, that just wound up backfiring. Oops!

What the heck, the game died on me during a side quest.

Tried to the Akiba Crime Prevention Member to start, but the MC knocked some people over at the same time.
The game got stuck in a cutscene where nothing happened and the characters were in their idle stances.
Couldn't do anything but pause.

"....to the economic bubblegum crisis..."

I understood that anime reference. I look forward to finding more.

Anyone know whether Easy or Casual is the easiest setting?
It goes from easiest to hardest: Easy, Casual, Gamer,
Otaku
.

Edit: Every time I find a game that has an "auto" button for advancing text, it makes me so happy it exists.

Quick Question, will me beating up random folks be detrimental to me in the long run or is it ok?

Beat up too many innocent people and your reputation will go down. And if your reputation dips too much, the crime rate in Akihabara will go up and the streets will be crawling with aggressive yakuza types.

Left to right. Easy is the easiest. Casual = normal.

That's definitely a new one. Is this Vita or PS3?

Oh man, I so hope there's a way to easily replay cutscenes to try out all the different choices. Some of them sound like they'll get hilarious reactions.

I have a premium edition of Bubblegum Crisis from the recent kickstarter on the way. So you can figure I smiled at the ref...

No big impressions yet, just wanted to let you know, to follow up with Zonic's post! ^_^

Hmmm, so there's multiple endings? So am I able to get more than one on a single playthrough? Looks like I might have to alternate between partners from time to time.

Actually, if you do that, you're going to cut yourself off from every good ending. ;)

The second half of the story is based on which partner favors you most at the game's halfway point, and whether you get the good ending or the bad ending for that route (of the four possible routes) depends on whether or not that same partner is basically in LOVE with you by game's end. So you can only get one ending on a single playthrough, and need to replay via New Game+ to get the others.

So you're better off picking one partner and favoring her as much as you possibly can.

Ahhh, so basically, it'll take me about 4 play throughs (or 5 if there's one based on the little sister) to get all the endings. At least NG+ should make it easier.

& oh man, so much stuff to collect for the encyclopedia. Just wish I could press left/right to go down the list of each one.

Haha, Conception 2 ads playing, that's neat.

I don't think the sister has a route. I could be wrong, but you might want to look that up.

There's a trophy for achieving the "little sister ending", so it sounds like she does.....though I wonder if that's just interacting with her enough since I don't know if she can actually become your partner.

so what is the best starting difficulty from someone who knows how to play video games?

Is hard like really hard, or is it reasonable to start on?
