That 1080p limit sucks.
What's worse is that it seems to be scaling up from a lower internal resolution.

receipts.gif.Kind of a stop gap and really annoying way but it seemed to downsample the resolution and the game does look better from screenshots i've seen.
Yeah I should of saved some, but the thread was archived and i closed it after i posted this, like i said it doesnt work for me or I would post a screenshot from me, the game just closes after clicking new game or loading a save. Its just something "simple" to try if anyone else wanted to, you can use any hex editor and it auto resets the config file if you dont make it read only so if the game crashes when you hit play like me you can easily reset it back, sorry for the no screenshot should of thought of that before hand, my bad.receipts.gif.

oh okay cool, was wondering how I would reset it to defaultif anyone else wanted to, you can use any hex editor and it auto resets the config file if you dont make it read only so if the game crashes when you hit play like me you can easily reset it back,
Nah the character models definitely look too blurry for a 1920x1080 screen. So the internal resolution is not lower than the display?
So once again a Japanese dev with no idea what they're doing and no one checking the port before release. Great.

It's doubly funny because of how they listened to the fan feedback and enabled 19 resolutions or whatever.

If you are going to add support for more, why not just support all the resolutions windows supports. Query that list. Use it. DOOOO IIIIT.
I already have the game. The PC version would just be a nice bonus and I have no need for a half-assed port like this. How hard can it be to do resolution options right? I'm really not asking for much more.be glad that you're getting those games at all instead.

I don't understand comments like these.

really? why not? it's a (late) port of a playstation game that some people now get to play on their pcs. Why should they have extras and enhancements just because...

I didn't disable it and the game runs good so far. No freezes, no crashes. But my sessions are usually not that long (about 30-45 min) because I always bounce back to Witcher 3 :,DI heard in Steam community forum, they have acknowledge the problems and are working on it.
After 2 hours of playing, it's not that bad, the potential for being a better port is there. Just give them some time.
Anyway, am I the only one who need to disable Steam Overlay so the game not crashed and being unresponsive? Disabling Steam Overlay fixed my problems, but it seems the achievement pop-up not is shown if I disable it.

Well Aquire is porting two more games over to pc iirc(Way of the Samurai 4 and Mind Zero), so hopefully they get better at this by then. WotS 4 was already delayed a few times, maybe they are really putting effort into that one.
PC, GTX 970, i5-4570, 8 GB RAM, Win 8.1Are you using Nvidia or AMD? My friend ran it on AMD-powered laptop (not sure which) and everything is smooth.
I can't even enter the game if:
1. Game is in full screen, and
2. Steam overlay enabled.
I disable SO and it runs fine. GT630M laptop here.

Regarding Way of the Samurai 4, I am quite sure that the port is coming along nicely. Ghostlight and a bunch of beta testers (some of which are GAF members) are helping them out. Ross of Ghostlight recently said they squashed some long lingering bugs.

Yeah, that's what I immediately noticed when I started playing. Shame because some scenes in game are much sharper.

Is that regardless of the Hex edit that Athian posted?
Having fun despite the crashes but can someone unlock the framerate already?
This stuff takes real work and real time from real people, if its going to happen at all. This post comes off in poor taste. You shouldn't be asking users to hack the framerate, you should be asking the developers to properly support their game.
How is it poor taste? I tweet about it to the team but if they don't implement it and someone is working on a way to unlock it its not a big deal. Im not forcing anyone in a single way to work just to unlock the framerate just for me.
The stating "can someone unlock the framerate already?" sounds impatient and as if you're expecting someone to be working on and making a framerate unlock. It seems that with every half baked PC release, the first response by people is "No worries, modders will fix it." rather than "Developers, give PC players the baseline features they expect."
I don't believe players should expect modders to fix games and I don't think players should be letting devs off the hook so easily. The post saying "Can someone unlock the framerate already?" rather than something like "Is anyone working on a framerate unlock?" makes it look like there is an expectation of modders to fix it is all. It's a small difference, but one reads as grateful for modders support, and the other seems to take it for granted. I'm not saying you aren't grateful for it, just that its the way the post reads.
Yeah, go to a store and look at the character model of the shop owner. Or talk to Nana when she's in her room and go to her "shop"

Oh if anyone didnt want to try and use the hex editor, I uploaded my config.dat its set for windowed mode, no anti-aliasing and 4k resolution atm. If the game crashes try disabling steam overlay and use alt+enter to goto fullscreen

Also somone posted a guide on the steam community hub with the same image and some comparison pictures if you wanted to check it out.
Yup, that worked. 4K screenshot:

(guess the CA came back)
It seems like any kind of effect gets rendered at a lower resolution. For example, speech bubbles cause the portions of characters behind them to look pixelated. Overall pretty good though.
Nvm, got it.
Ignore: The launcher listed the resolution at 720 though. Do I bypass it by going straight to the game exe or just use it to launch?
