About Arcana Heart3 for 360 - for the most part it couldn't happen. We wanted to do it, James said.

:(

Nope. MS won't allow digital only since there's no disc... and Aksys won't do a disc run since MS requires a minimum print of 50,000 copies... which... for that game... definitely won't make it.

Q: How dead is the PSP market?

A: With enough love anything is possible and we love the PSP.

And I love you, Aksys.
Maybe they could be nudged with VC3 and Final Promise Story.

Then how did we get deathsmiles IIX? No disc in the states, just like AH3.

Nah, Kagari doesn't work for a game company AFAIK
or else she'd bring me a Medabots game!
. It's just that companies like NISA have spoken out about Microsoft's policies.

Give it a chance! We need to mack on samurai to show that we also want to mack on Growlansers!

The success of dating games on the PSP can only help Growlanser!

Buying an Idea Factory game to support Growlanser is like buying Imagine Party Babies to support Pandora's Tower.

Wow, you really hate Idea Factory, eh? XD

Well, each to their own. Though, as mentioned before, Hakuouki isn't a RPG, it's a visual novel, so I'm not sure how much Idea Factory can mess around with that.

And I still think the success of any niche game on the PSP can only help Atlus see that Growlanser would be a viable release for the US, especially one with heavy dating elements.

Oh well, let's keep fighting the good fight for English Growlanser!

NISA has the rights to that, since it's an Imageepoch self-published title, so Aksys would have to negotiate with them.

Which begs the question, will NISA hold on to the rights for BRS, just so they won't make the same mistake with Disgaea letting Atlus have the publishing rights for what became a sleeper hit in North America?

Can't imagine an otome game on the PSP in 2012 not doing awful sales-wise, but then again, I didn't expect 999 to have two reprints...

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Hmm... curious about Fate/Extra.

The Otome game, though? I don't like Idea Factory, and I don't wanna date dudes.

Pretty much how I feel about it. Idea Factory's games are all terrible. I want Growlanser I and IV PSP so bad. If Aksys can release nice PSP games then Atlus can certainly try with Growlanser IV and I.

Luckily I can always count on company's like this to bring over the interesting stuff rather than playing shooter garbage.

Funny how they've been embraced as the niche console in Japan...

In Japan it's the complete opposite though. MS is very desperate there, as is evidenced by sales...

I highly doubt Hakuouki will get the kind of word-of-mouth 999 did.

I'll still get it though. Sure it's Idea Factory, but it's a VN, which means none of the obtuse gameplay mechanics they like to fill their RPGs with. And Aksys always does great localizations, even for crap games, so it should hopefully be worth playing.

I also want to support them for being crazy enough to release two uber-niche games on PSP - and on UMDs no less - when the North American market is so poor. I have no idea how they've managed to stay in business, unless Blazblue and Bit.Trip are just that profitable, but I'm sure glad they are. Hopefully once they're more firmly established they can be a little more choosy with what they localize.

To be fair there are plenty of guys who would be interested in an Otome game.

Nothing wrong with that.

Right?
What, are you crazy? Guys playing as girls and dating other dudes? Ewww, that only happens in MMOs!

I'm hoping it'll be good, it would be my first experience with an Otome game.

I'm stupid for anything Shinsengumi, so I guess I'll have to pick up Hakuouki. I was actually going to pick up one of the games in Japan, but I never could find it used, and it didn't seem like the type of game I'd want to spend a lot of money on. Good thing US PSP games are so cheap!

I want to try Fate/Extra. I'm not really interested in otome games, though. At least Aksys is still willing to release PSP games.

What odd choices, considering what else is out there. Was Fate/Extra any good? Regardless, props to them for giving the PSP support.

Exists in a perpetual state of Quantum Crotch Uncertainty.
A dungeon crawling spin-off of a porn game and aggressively targeted Idea Factory pablum, eh?

The twilight of the PSP is proving strange indeed.
