Alien vs Predator 3 - 18 way multiplay, 4 Player co-op

I hope they keep Predator Tag in multiplayer; my favorite mode. Although they will need to fix the Predator spawn when you kill him. Nothing worse than four Marines in a room shooting at a Predator, one of them kills him and the next thing you know, your buddy standing next to you who scored the kill is now a freakin Predator.

This and Uncharted 2 are my most anticipated games. Can't wait.

Why are people freaking out?

The Darkness and Stranglehold had multiplayer too.
Because AvP is (one of?) the only reasonably well balanced MP FPS which has teams with vastly different capabilities. Adds a whole extra dimension to gameplay, but is incredibly difficult to pull off successfully.

Really hope this turns out good... I'm definitely on the fence about it. Some videos look quite good but others look very generic...

I always felt Gearbox's Aliens looked a lot better (of course it doesn't include predators or playable aliens (I presume)).

Hopefully it'll turn out great.

I'll keep my ears open in that case. thanks!

I just didn't understand what it could do differently.
But I like the idea of opposing teams having very different abilites.

The xenomorphs are getting kinda lanky there...

I am a long time fan of the franchise, back from the PC iterations. These games were pretty damn good, and I'd been wondering what happen to the grandeur of this Frnachise. When I heard Rebellion was back in the saddle with the AvP, I was excitied. I've been keeping tabs on the game, and next-gen console s players and younger gamers who've never played any of the previous titles are in for a treat if Rebellion still has the "magic touch".

I still remember, how good Alien players were friggin' unstoppable, they were hard to maters (i.e. speed, agility, wall crawling ability), but a master was a foe to be taken seriously. Master Predator players were no slouches either. I can't wait for this game to hit retail, if it holds up to the old games, and Sega markets this game right, they could have a hit on their hands.

I'm tempted to go rummaging through my storage unit to dig up my PC copies of AvP 1&2....

It's jumping there that's why, they're supposed to be lanky. They're mostly seen climbing shit and fucking things up as it crawls so that's why.
Yeah, okay. They've changed their design a lot. But I don't really find that strange as Giger continually redesigned the alien in each film iteration.

How good was the Atari Jaguar Version?

Awesome enough for me to shell out a egregious amount of money for a otherwise pos console.
I remember all my friends coming over and being pretty amazed at it.

I had a friend with a Jaguar. AvP made him pretty damn popular.

And then the PlayStation came out and we all sort of disowned him...

Love the speed on the alien movement. Hope thats in the game and not just cutscene b.s.

I'm stoked for this game. Hope Rebellion pulls it off...again.

Since when does a simple multiplayer mode count as "Co-op"?
Well, technically, co-op is multiplayer :D.

I'm so stoked for this game. Can't wait to pick it up on the PC. We used to spend ours on LAN at school playing AvP2.

You're not buying it for 360? :(

I am also VERY stoked for this game, I loved AVP2 but I never played the first one I think. Nevertheless, the second one was badass as well.

I'm having difficulty remembering this correctly... but wasn't there an online-only AvP many years ago, that had the feeds of your squadmates around your screen, and everytime someone died their feed would turn into static?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Rebellion AvP games...

...but anyway, I loved that touch in whatever AvP game that was. I'd love for it to be in this one but I doubt the consoles have the power to pull that off without a blow to performance.

Any idea which console will have the better MP experience? Torn between PS3/360 and can't decide.

Hm, well if if you're only debating consoles and not PC, then I'm sure it's probably more of a question of which system your friends are likely to buy it for or which system you prefer. AFAIK, there's no console specific features to make one better than the other.

If you can wait for reviews, that would probably be best so you can read up on how the game performs on consoles in terms of performance.

Well, thats why I said 'will have', in case people have read an article suggesting what'll be better.

It's more than likely the same game on all 3 platforms. I can't see the devs adding specific multiplayer modes for each platform.

Its absolutely not, there's been numerous PC only features announced already (dedicated servers, DX11 support, tesselation, among others) and there's some (such as Steam cloud) mentioned in the op ffs.

I really hope this game turns out to be good(the original one was awesome), but people tend to forget that rebellion games are most of the time mediocre at best. :(
