Went back to my bio-specialist after playing my saboteur for a while... and I don't think I can go back to not having that mobility. She also seems to struggle with survivability at the same level in comparison to my saboteur and I'm not sure if that's because of the fact that I can easily zip in and zip out which the bio-specialist can't do at all.

And of course, I have no 12 slot legendaries on my saboteur with two on my bio-specialist. Really wish there was a shared vault!

Is the update for offline coop already released? If not, any info when this´ll be the case?

This is the main feature for me, wondering why they couldn´t make it available from day 1.

It's probably tough to work out, since players aren't restricted to the same screen in the base game.

Rolled a revolver with "shoot enemy: electric."

Was expecting a respectable AOE weapon, but the effect only randomly procs every now and then.

Rather disappointed.

Where do people farm for weapons? I'm trying to get the 12-slot legendary achievement but RNGsus is spiteful.

I just got mine. First mission farming.

This is after doing the Ark about 10 times, because i thought that would increase my chances. Bah. Farmed the first mission 3 times tonight and scored.

Ark is much easier with 4 than 1 or 2, and obviously you want everyone high level if possible -- not just because they have more hp, but because they're more likely to have weapons that do 1mil+ to cut through stage 4 and 5 a bit faster.

I got my 12 core gun on the 1st level on Veteran at about LV 30/30.

I am 30/233 and just got my 12 slot. Yes, 30/233. I was done playing this f'ing character about 100 levels ago, at least... veteran is a joke, and the ark doesn't even get hard till basically the final battle due to my hit points and a gear power rating over 5mil.

And now I have hardcore to look forward too. If only i wasn't already burnt out.

Heh, reminds me of the time I and a roommate were gunning for the top 10 of Co-Op in Superstardust HD. It required making near zero mistakes while playing for several hours straight. Fuck up during the first hour and you might as well start over... :p

Hard cap at 30 with Hero levels having zero effect on the scaling. Ark Ship -ready characters are, or at least shoud be, totally OP even on Veteran as you quickly pass to much higher levels in the Ark Ship. Lv 50 fodder enemies on the last floor are no joke.

That's the only way to play SS!

Yea, Ark stage 5 much more manageable once you've got an 11ish slot primary and/or secondary. My 11 slot revolver is dope.

There is absolutely nothing random about it proccing. All of the shoot enemy procs are timer based (they even seem to share the timer, so you can't exploit it by weapon switching). After X amount of time, your next shot *will* have the proc effect.

The Lightning is actually more of a heavy killer feature. Boomerang is the horde-killer with massive AoE, but with far less damage on the primary target. See my earlier post on the matter

Got a saboteur and tank both to 30/50+ but struggling with boredom on the bio-specialist at around level 15. Hopefully new content/modes come out soon.

Anyone have tips on how to best survive hardcore mode? I just did the first stage twice and am level 4... don't think i was hit a single time. While I don't mind going deeper to get more experience, i don't want to accidentally lose a level 20 character either.

would having a friend in world 1 that's high level work? like, coop with them, try to stay safe and try to get high level weapon drops?

Ah, thanks for the info and your research.

I could only base my own observation by comparing the "shoot enemy" to "melee enemy" perks. The latter of which seemed to activate on every first hit, which caused me to look unfairly upon the first.

The game rains loot on you, but right now it lacks diversity - same goes for the end game content. Housemarque are usually very good in supporting their games post launch, but if you don't feel you'll get your money's worth unless you can keep going at the end game it might be worth holding off.

Personally I've more than got my money's worth. I think I've played 50+ hours already (levelling all three classes to 30+) and there's still HC to go as well as trying to max out weapon slots in each - it's just tough to motivate myself to play the same content over and over.

It also sucks that I've had the best drops on the character I find least fun to play. :(

Are you guys finding people to co-op with?
Ever since the update I am rarely finding anyone running missions. Maybe the player base has shrunk, but when I see anyone it is only on the first mission of any of the first areas and never on the later levels. And I have hardly had someone join me.

Have to say that I've noticed this too sometimes, it seems as if it doesn't even try to go look for players sometimes.

I've been running hardcore mode and had one person join me in all my missions so far.

Ok so here's the thing with Hardcore, when I was doing (only for the trophy because I hate the idea of losing everything on death in this game) I did the following:

1) Bio-Engineer class. The recovery options are second only to the Tank and the Bio has a much better primary than the tank.

2) Start on Professional until level ~8, jump to Veteran if you can handle it especially when you know you'll level up in the next run.

3) If your weapons aren't basically one shotting enemies drop difficulty. You can abort a mission and restart it on a lower difficulty.

4) If you can stand repetition just run the first mission until level 30. You never get the world level increases which add scarier enemies (Sentinels, FUCK those guys) and the +1 to global levels with each bump. The loot will take longer to get good but the enemies will never present a threat until bosses start showing up with three abilities. If possible skip bosses with Buglord, Shield, Regenerate. Unless you get the drop on them with a high powered Rocket Launcher these guys are super scary. Bugs are a meat shield, their shield is basically indestructible, and they regenerate. Fuck that.

It took me 12 hours of farming level 1 doing the above but I got the trophy.

If you want to cheese it apparently you can back up your save and restore it if you die. I didn't know about this until after I had done my thing though.

Is noone playing this game anymore, or why are there no open MP games I could join?
I only find some for the first mission of the campaign and even for that I can only rarely find any game.
Is it a bug? Or is the community dead?

Yeah, I tried to find some games the other day, and nothing.

It's not; unfortunately there's really no incentive to farm any other level for gear other than Alaska-1 because it's so short.
So people are just running this mission - getting the three chests and completing the objectives or also going for the events? The end game is not good, which is a shame as I absolutely adore the gameplay. :(

That's what I was doing before I got bored and quit playing. There's really no reason to replay any other mission, besides the objective things to kill 20 whatever, but that's very little incentive.

I lost my level 20 hardcore to allied turret fire on the force field beach mission. An enemy spawned behind me while I was in the line of fire. So dumb, I even had second wind, but it failed.

New character is 16, not doing that mission again until I'm 30.

They should make the later missions have a higher drop rate and XP buff. More people would play the harder missions if it meant more rewards.

Yeah, that would be a start. I often run Nebraska-3 because it starts at one extreme of the map and has a good enemy variety (for the UNX assignments) so it's easy to sweep across the map (and you can easily call in the evac with your 3 chests) - two of my characters almost trivialise the content so I kind of enjoy gathering huge followings of the harder enemies.

Right, starting a tank on HC and going to run him veteran and as normally as I can bring myself to play. What could possibly go wrong?

So... I got the hardcore trophy the other night, and here are my trophy tips:

1) Stay on Alaska 1-1. I had no problem doing veteran the entire time (over double the experience speeds things up). If your gun gets a few levels behind, then yeah, drop to professional or rookie.

You won't get -- sentinels, leapers, flamers, etc. which ups survivability a lot.

2) If you go in a group of 4, you'll get a ton more experience [faster leveling] but you -must- stay together. Get separated and a sudden hoard or whatever will slaughter you... the extra hp enemies have in coop is dangerous.

3) The game -will- start to feel more difficult in the mid and late 20s, especially if your gun is underpowered. I got lucky and a guy who was 30/50+ joined me and basically escorted my character from 26 through 30. [thanks!]

I saw a lot of mid-20 characters join my game and die... thankfully i'm good at dual stick shooters and survived where they didn't.

4) You get a lot of bonus experience for finishing a level, so the best way to farm exp is to finish 1-1 as fast as possible, only stopping for obvious bosses/lewt but not searching the map for them.

5) Bio-specialist. All the way. Healing is essential.

6) Personally, I prefer being host to ensure speed runs for best experience gain, but if you find a good host, that's just as good.

AND....

the best part... once you're level 30, you can now quickly and easily play through the game on rookie and get the 'beat game w/ bio specialist trophy'. I never even came close to dying.

Now I'm just leisurely playing through with a Tank for the plat with a saved 30/something HC and a seriously OP 30/233 saboteur ready for any DLC.

Still hunting for that 12 slot legendary. It's all I need for the platinum. My play sessions have to be solo (I have a 6-month old so I need to be able to drop whatever I'm doing) so I run Alaska-1 until I get 10 UFO keys, burn 9 of them (saving one so I can join others if I feel the need to) and repeat. I've snagged 11 slot legendaries in every slot but I can't get a 12 slot one to drop at all. I'm a 30/103 tank and still getting no RNG love.

If they do make harder missions more rewarding (better loot) then I'd absolutely change farming locations. I don't even bother with the objectives anymore because I don't need the cores. I'd run the Ark but I don't know how much time to block off and don't really want to run solo.

yeah it's been a real pain to find people, let alone decent people, to play with. Trying to at least hit 30 with one class before i put this down for other games, but world level 2 just does not fuck around.

So i cant find anyone online after getting to world 2..... it kind of sucks, i cant beat these levels at 18 or whatever might have to just bump it down unfortunate

My first super close call on HC veteran. The level where you first discover the force field then have to run away from the mortar fire? Thought I'd play it smart and clear my way down to the evac point (which works, by the way, the run down there was empty) but the fucking ambush I got there was insane. Both a goliath and a brute, multiple flamers and of course all of the phasing mutants and dragoons/seekers.

Not a happy sight seeing second wind proc on HC! D:

I was going for the trophy where you don't use your abilities for an entire mission, but I can't stop using melee. I have given up after four attempts.

Just completed "Into Dark Places", on HC veteran (one of the missions I was really worried about - though this is the first time I realised that you didn't actually have to rush out after setting it off). Soon I'm going to need to make the decision of whether I'm brave enough to move into world 2...

sorry I meant the hero level system, I heard 250. Is this right ?

Yep at HL 250 you'll have the maximum HP your class offers.

I managed to beat world level 2 on HC (Rookie) I'm not brave enough for Veteran on HC.

I spent maybe 6 more hours trying for a 12 slot legendary only to end in failure. I figure I'll limit myself to an hour a night trying since it's all I need for the platinum.
