I would love to see DLC sooner rather than later, but it seems pretty early. It was seven months between Resogun and its Heroes DLC. I don't think it was even detailed until a couple weeks before release.I need news on expansions/DLC

It's more fun in co-op, but it's a really REALLY fun shooter mechanics wise that you will definitely be able to enjoy single player. The only real complaint (lack of variety at end game) about the game is valid regardless of whether you play co-op or solo.
Got this earlier today. Had been a bit apphensive because I had gotten Helldivers on Steam about two months ago, and this seemed pretty similar, and really focused on co-op. But then I realized it was from the Dead Nation devs and saw the comments here about the solo play being really solid (and I just got a PS4)
So yeah, this is awesome. Helldivers' is still unmatched in the satisfying feedback department, the guns there just feel so damn powerful to fire, but here, the visuals of it all more than make up for that. This game is absolutely gorgeous, the explosion and effects of your attacks and weapons are just non-stop eye candy, and it's really fun in single player. In SP, you definitely need to take advantage of everything, from timing your reloads to funneling enemies.
Hi there,
At Housemarque, we believe community is king. We read and discuss every comment you write, every feedback you send. Your opinions are really important to us, and we heard you loud and clear: local co-op will be added to Alienation on July 5th! So gather your friends and spouses, buy some snacks and make space on the sofa: local co-op comes with 4 concurrent players on the same screen, and in classic friendship-breaking fashion youll have to fight over who gets the best loot when opening a crate!
The new update also introduces the much requested Leagues system: divided into 5 Ranks and 1-week cycles, Leagues will allow you to climb the ladders of glory and unlock new bullet colors in the process.
In addition to that were adding two new difficulty levels for all the Alienation veterans: Expert and Master. Along with these, youll find 3 new trophies, a richer Arkship experience (with new rooms, harder enemies, better loot), adjustments to Legendary weapons loot drop rates and increased Hero levels cap.
All of this comes for free. If youd like to support us, on July 5th were also releasing on PlayStation Store Survivors Pack, Alienations first DLC, individual items to purchase separately and the Alienation Season Pass!
Survivors Pack includes the possibility to make all main weapons available to all classes, a new piece of gear (the Vortex Grenade, which sucks all enemies to a central gravity point dealing constant damage) and three exclusive bullet colors. Get it for only $5.99/2.99. The Season Pass, priced $9.99/7.99, gives you a big bundle discount on this and upcoming DLC, including Conquerors Pack, Veteran Heroes Pack, the games soundtrack and Alienations Dynamic Theme.
I actually really like the tank primary, but it's great that you can swap out for better range if necessary. Also being able to use any primary with any class is a game changer. I'll actually play my tank now.

Yeah, seems pretty weak to me.So they want $6 for....a grenade and some primary weapons that have already been in the game since launch? Did I read that right?
I like this game alot but that seems extremely bare for DLC.
Great to finally have local co-op but there are a LOT of limitations. Helldivers can do most of these so it's a shame the same functionality isn't in here. Hopefully they are taking feedback onboard and some of these things get fixed. The game is a blast to play otherwise.
- The camera doesn't zoom out or move in the direction you are aiming which makes it a very cramped experience.
- There doesn't appear to be a way to play with both local and online players. For example, two players on the one console and two players online.
- While campaigns are saved across multiple users on the one console, trophies will not unlock for players other than player one.
- Inventory screens are shared so while one person is doing something, the other is locked out.
- There can only be one tooltip active for items dropped in the world, meaning one person can't pick up cores while another is picking up a weapon. One player has to move off an item for the tooltip to show up for the other player.
This is a shame. Was a massive fan of dead nation and was looking forward to couch co-op here, but it sounds like it needs some work to me.

Is it worth coming back to after the patch? Haven't played in awhile. Felt like I did all there was to do.
Right, really wondering about that, as I would assume that their previous games had a huge fanbase because of great couch coop action. Hope they´ll fix the issues. They're generally very good at post game support so I'm confident they'll fix most if not all of those issues over time. I guess it's been hard for them because the game wasn't designed around providing local co-op, which was definitely an unusual decision for tihs kind of game.
So my buddy had a legendary crate(the big orange ones) in one of the missions, anyone know how to spawn them??
Eh, I don't know why you'd even pay any attention to the individual purchases when the season pass is loaded for just $10. All the packs and the soundtrack. It's basically how Resogun was too, the season pass is overwhelmingly the best way to get the DLC.Yeah, seems pretty weak to me.
They're random, and super rare.So my buddy had a legendary crate(the big orange ones) in one of the missions, anyone know how to spawn them??
Housemarque was definitely blindsided by how much people demanded local co-op, especially with how people didn't care that it wasn't really designed for it. The weapons, enemies, abilities, environments, etc are pretty designed for players to be able to move all over, while local co-op mostly requires a relatively small screen area to confine players. While it's nice that Helldivers supported all kinds of co-op, the confined space and requirement that all players stick together could be pretty limited in that, even when it was designed for it. I feel like Alienation would really take a hit if I ever felt confined in my movements based on where my co-op partner was in relation to me.They're generally very good at post game support so I'm confident they'll fix most if not all of those issues over time. Ran into a couple past patch, seems completely random to me.

However, I've heard something about there being no trophy support etc for player 2, and that generally its not a great couch co-op experience. Anyone care to fill me in on the current state of things?
Can you mix local and online play, i.e., could a friend and I play on one console with a friend who's on another?
Trophies actually do unlock for other players in local co-op, not just player one. I originally reported that they did not unlock, but that was incorrect information.
Unfortunately you cannot mix local co-op and online play at this stage
OK thanks for that - does it save the progress for player 2 - i.e any exp, weapons, etc or does player two essentially start with a blank slate every time you fire up the console?
The no trophies thing for player one seems odd, maybe they'll patch it.
I think he meant that all players get trophies, nor exclusively player one

When's the season pass coming out?
Would like to know if it keeps a local profile for player 2 though with character progress and gear.
Are there multiple character/save slots? Just wondering, as I'd like to have one character for solo play, and one that's designated for coop.
How frequently are folks getting 12 slot weapons in the highest (new) difficulties?
No respawning on the mothership, so it's probably best to go slow and steady. If you need to, no shame in replaying other stages to level up, find improved guns, get cores for upgrading, etc. Reroll your weapon stats if you haven't and can afford it. Everything helps.Any solo mothership tips?
Haven't seen any re-spawn beacons in there.. Can you re-spawn?
However I feel there aren't enough weapons. I'm dying for more variety, obviously I'm not expecting Borderlands levels of variety but I defintely want more.
I've ranked all 3 classes to level 30, and am working up my hero levels, but having legendary weapons in primary secondary, equipment etc I'm starting to want something more to work for, simply leveling up my hero level is not enough. I've also noticed the online population is already getting pretty small.
I'd also like some new levels, new enemy types etc. To be honest there's so much they could do to this game to make it even more awesome, fingers crossed for the future.....
Bought this in the recent sale and loving it so far. Up to level 8 and only on the 4th mission. Running as a tank but gonna try a saboteur later tonight.
Just a quick question: If I were to join a randoms game, and they are a lower level than me, will the loot drops be locked to their level or is it based on the level I am?
I think it depends on the hosts level.
