I'm more confused about Hadley's Hope not being a massive crater.
Did I miss something or is my memory of ALIENS that off?

It's a fair point, but I can't remember what they show exactly, maybe the explosion turned out to not be so bad for things on the ground. >_>

You'd think they'd need respirators now at least...

If one game needs to have awesome co-op it's this one. Hopefully, it's similar to left for dead but with aliens. This is not the game for a versus mode though, it should only be co-op.

this way the transition from the Sulaco down to LV-426 will be easier...???

Scratching my head on this one two. The blast was so strong the wave reached the upper echelons of the atmosphere shaking the shit out of the dropship. Going to watch with interest how they plan to play this out.

Maybe that asshole Wierzbowski loaded the dud nukes instead of the hot nukes?

Excite!I hope it does have a survival/horde mode. Every game could end, Pvt. Hudson style. "You want some too!?!?!?"

Or with co-op grenade cooking. YOU ALWAYS WERE AN ASSHOLE.

Voice comms for this game will be full of people reciting their favourite Aliens quotes. "Let's rock!" being high up there with "game over man!" and "Look into my eye."

Count me in as confused on the return to Hadley's Hope. Perhaps we play as a civilian prior to the arrival of the first group of marines seen in the film? Some survival horror type shit...scary and utterly hopeless.

Game of the year 2012 confirmed.

It'll be nice to follow Mass Effect 3 up with a not-so optimistic and far-more realistic view of mankind venturing into space.

Can't be. Look at the teaser trailer.

Ohhh the mysteries.

It will all make sense - Don't worry.

:O

I personally don't care if it mucks with continuity, though. I just want an awesome experience and classic sound effects.

The sound of the motion tracker has become one of the creepiest noises in any film I've ever heard.

YES! Finally! I been waiting for this game ever since I read about it in Game Informer magazine. Stay frosty marines! Oh going to be so awesome with co-op.

Wait, they find the Sulaco still in orbit around LV-426, yet Ripley was sent out of that orbit to another planet? O_o

They could just explain that with the ship having the malfunction caused by the fire around Fury and going back to LV-426 either as an automated mission protocol response or as a navigational systems error.

Your ship goes away, has a malfunction, and jettisons the crew into space. Wouldn't you want to program the ship to return to it's original point if it's able to in most circumstances?

Does it count as port begging to mention that the motion sensor from Aliens would be super-duper-awesome on a Project Cafe controller display?

It counts as a rumor because Geoff Keighley tweeted it.

Feels like such a long time away but I guess just the fact that it's apparently not canned makes me feel pretty good.

This game with co-op sounds so awesome.

At the end of Alien3
the Alien is doused in molten lead, before being exploded by a shower of cold water.
Alien3?

I don't understand...there was Alien and then Aliens....

Come now, 3 wasn't as good as the rest and was plagued by production problems but the assembly cut in particular is a good film and one of the darkest, most depressing pieces of sci-fi out there.

Alien 3 is a decent film, especially in comparison to Resurrection, if Fincher had not been neutered by Fox, it could of been up there with Alien and Aliens.

Fincher's Director's Cut is excellent. Definitely changed my overall perception of Alien3.

Stop what you're doing today, stop it right now. Go buy the movie (BD) and I swear... sit down and enjoy the best movie ever put on film. The.best.movie.

My body is ready for this game, I will be naked on launch night.

Me too, I've already bought some creatine and whey protein, ready to start lifting to ready my body.

Everyone on GAF should play co-op together. Take the quotes slowly at first, "Nobody touch nothing.", "Looks like some sort of secreted resin.", then when the action gets heavy a bit more suspensful, "I've got movement all over the place!. 5 meters man, 4!" then finally when the shit really hits the fan "They're coming out of the goddamn walls! Let's roooooock!"

Also since it's confirmed one of the main characters in this is called Winters, we should always be telling him to stay frosty.

The director's cut for Alien 3 is actually really great.
